Off the main road, parking was free, close to highway

Even though the room appeared clean, it wasn’t the cleanest. The floor was very sticky, food crumbs under the desk, and a lot of stains on the towels.

We knew that we would find good lodgings at Candlewood when another booking fell through.

The only real issue was the confusion of being near another hotel and a conference area. Parking was not as easy.

Candlewood Suites was a very quiet hotel. The hotel didn't seem too busy at all and didn't seem to have alot of visitors. The bed was very comfortable and made for a relaxing and pleasant sleeping night. We have stayed in Independence before so the area is always nice and has plenty of restaurants to choose from and isn't too far from any major attractions.

Minor- upon arrival noticed that a pillow was dirty. Went to front desk and asked for a new one and it wasn't a issue. The hotel is in a weird spot so the views aren't amazing or anything great. We stayed on 2nd floor and our view was the building AC units. Lastly when I think of "suite" hotels I think of a large room that has a separate living room area from the bedroom area. I don't know why it is called a suite maybe cause of the kitchen area. The room isn't a suite at all but still a very nice room. The bathroom is large and nice walk in shower. Overall we would stay again if necessary but may not be the first overall choice.

I love the kitchen in room! Great place to store snacks and expanded meal options. My check in process was easy enough. Lots of channels to watch. The lobby is very nice and the water pressure in the shower and sink is great.

The hotel staff seemed mostly unavailable and not very welcoming. While my personal check in was pleasant, I witnessed another guest’s encounter with the staff and she was not very pleasant. The guest had a lengthy question and the attendant seemed to be frustrated and impatient. My check out process was annoying. The staff attempted to run my card a second time at check after I had explained I paid when i arrived 3 days prior. The was a break down in communication and instead of attempting to Deescalate the situation, the gentleman attendant became condensing and passive aggressive. I get things happen but this staff really needs to step up their customer service. Simple pleasantries go a long way. No one asked about my stay, just very transactional encounters.The issue was finally resolved but when I walked away from the desk I could here then speaking negatively about me. It just seemed petty over all. As far as the room, it was mostly clean but there were a pack of condoms ( un opened) left over in one of drawers ( I’m glad the previous guests practiced safe sex lol) and the cup holders on the desk was not thoroughly cleaned. It was good but could have been better especially for the price. The position of the hotel is awkward so my second floor view was the roof of the conference center and the hvac unit for the whole building. The walls were thin so I could hear other guests and activities from the conference room I was behind. I also think it’s odd that the rooms aren’t clean and you have to ask for fresh towels while it was nice to be notified it’s just comes off a little lazy. The bed was ok the pillows were meh. I’ve had better and won’t be back. The location and parking were also awkward, had I not checked out the hotel in advanced I would be very confused.
