We loved our stay at the Cherries! Rob and Marion what lovely and helpful people! What a beautiful place and stunning garden with all those colorful flowers. I magnificent place to stay! York in 15min and the beautiful nature of Yorkshire around you. The Cherries, definitely worth a new visit and highly recommended!

Absolute gem of a property

A beautiful home with oddles of character. Spotless with everything we needed for our stay. We received a warm welcome with the hosts a stones through away but at the same time giving us our privacy to enjoy our stay. Beautiful secluded garden in a quiet rural location but convinient to get to travel into York via park n ride or bus. Can't fault the hosts or property.

The Cherries - a delightful Aladdin's cave!

A very comfortable ( and unusual) house - immaculate and having everything you could possibly need - and including the use of a garden. Situated in a quiet hamlet, The Cherries has easy accessibility to Grimston Bar park and ride for travel into York. Marion and Rob are friendly and accommodating hosts. Highly recommended!

Lovely cottage in quiet village

Lovely property in a quiet village. The whole house was spotless, it had a well equipped kitchen, plenty of hot water and was spacious and comfortable. Hosts were lovely, there is a small garden to sit in and a fabulous games room which was great for kids/teenagers. It was convenient for York, Hull and countryside walks.

There is only one bathroom and there are no carpets so it can be a bit noisy. There is a very narrow driveway to get to the parking.

Beautiful cottage with all the facilities we needed in an ideal location close to York.

We enjoyed a 7 night stay in this beautiful, quirky cottage that is in a great location for going in to the city. The interior design and decoration is lovely. The cottage was clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need. A few of the nights there the weather had changed and became cold overnight but the cottage was always perfectly warm and cosy. Always great to have free parking which this cottage does. Our dog came with us for our stay and the enclosed garden was perfect for him to have a run around. Rob (the owner) was very friendly and ensured that if we were to have any problems just to call. Definitely one of the nicest holiday lets I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend this cottage enough. I’m looking at booking again in the future and I have recommended ‘The Cherries’ to friends already.

Enjoyable house near York

The house was lovely, big spaces and a beautiful garden. Perfect for a family of four and a dog. The location was perfect for visiting York and Yorkshire Dales. Superb hosts, thank you Rob and Marion for making this possible

Lovely quaint cottage with a beautiful garden. Well stocked with extras like washing powder, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Nice layout and enough room for everyone to have their own space or family time.

Bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but everything else was great.

brilliant stay for us. Not much in the way of amenities in the immediate vicinity, but didn’t expect that anyway. though

a lot of effort has gone into staging the property. some very personal touches which were nice. lovely log fires, excellent for kitchen appliances and facilities. a bit of a tardis, much bigger than would suggest from the outside. lovely garden and small conservatory

Exceptional

The property was very unique and quirky , but still very cosy and inviting! The garden space was perfect for our dog. We would love to go back in the summer months to enjoy the outdoor space more!

The only think we didn’t like so much was the master bedroom, it felt more like a spare room and didn’t have the cosy warm feel the rest of the house did.

The cherries

Location was excellent, and the hosts were very friendly and extremely accommodating. The house was very clean and well looked after. We had a lovely 2 weeks here and would stay here again and recommend it to others. The house had everything we needed

The only thing for us was that we have small children and they kept wanted to play with some of the ornaments that were around the house! But we just told them not to and in the end they got the idea! But they added to the homely feel of the house, so not complaining about them just for others to be aware with young children staying there. Lovely garden for children although there are steps into the garden.
