A peaceful, cosy hideaway with plenty of quirky features

The place is beautiful, the bedrooms are so cost and the fact you've a downstairs shower as well as upstairs is really good. The log fire was another nice feature and needed in this current wet and windy weather! Janet and John were utterly brilliant, the flapjack in the welcome pack should be up for sale, it was soooooo good! Loved having the parking area and private yard area and also the location is ideal, close to Ribchester, Longridge, Preston and would be a great base for trips to the Lakes.

A perfect getaway

The Boot Room was immaculate. The hosts, Janet & John were very friendly, attentive and approachable but left us to our own privacy as well. The bedrooms were amazing, spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were top notch. Downstairs the living room was atmospheric, very well appointed and we had a roaring fire to accompany our watching of Netflix in the evenings. The actual boot room was so convenient for storing muddy walking boots and cleaning some very dirty Spaniel paws. The walks also were fabulous - we did the Tolkein Trail as well as a local walk from the Boot Room door.

The only negative which is why I score it 9/10 is that the kitchen is very small and we could have done with the provision of some more of the basics such as cooking oil, herbs etc and sauces.

Loved it, will be looking to make it an annual thing to visit the family up north!

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, Janet and the family were so welcoming and helpful, the surroundings were beautiful. Really easy to find, parking was a breeze as it has a courtyard and there's loads of space, the beds were really comfy, and the bath was enormous. Good showers with excellent pressure, the sauna was really nice, and the downstairs shower/wet room was great to hose off the dog!

The kitchen is not the biggest, but we are a friendly bunch so didn't mind the squish, and it was perfectly sized for the cooking we wanted to do!
