Quirky cottage with some olde worlde charm.
Heating was easy to use and house warmed up quickly.
A few small things need repairing to bring it up to high standards like the missing door handle on the inner porch door. No latch on main bedroom door.
Cutlery is very cheap.
Nowhere to hang clothes in main bedroom.

Great value place in good location for what I needed.
There wasn't much hot water and it took ages to heat up so I didn't end up being able to have a bath on the night I arrived.

Great little cottage for us to go off and explore from. Nice and cosy. The log fire is a lovely thing to have while you’re sitting in living room. Lots of items in the kitchen in case you forgot anything.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage. It was full of character, quirky with lots of nice original features. The kitchen was well equipped including a dishwasher. The living room was comfortable and the sofas were great. The beds were also comfortable and there was plenty of space for hanging clothes. Lovely towels. It was handy to be able to park just outside.

Whitebrook Cottage is absolutely delightful. The perfect blend of charm and comfort. From the moment you arrive, you can tell how well cared for and thoughtfully maintained the cottage is. Everything feels fresh, clean, and welcoming, while still keeping that cozy, storybook atmosphere.
The décor is adorable without being overdone, with little touches that make it feel special and homely. The rooms are spotless, comfortable with everything you might need for a relaxing stay.
It’s clear the hosts take great pride in the property, and it shows in every detail. If you’re looking for a charming retreat that’s both incredibly cute and immaculately kept, Whitebrook Cottage is a wonderful choice.
The only thing to be aware of is that the next-door neighbour’s big dog, can be a little intimidating. It tended to bark right at us whenever we were outside the property.

There was no breakfast. The location was fine, though parking was a bit awkward and potentially dangerous on a blind hill's corner - you'll have to get out of the car one side at a time. The cottage is charming if you don't mind ducking your head a lot and not being able to stand up at all in the bedroom, and don't mind a poorly thought out heating system. The strength of the shower was great, but it was impossible to avoid it flooding the room. There were all the facilities you'd expect in a house.
There's only really one job that needs to be right when you stay somewhere overnight - the sleep. Sadly, that's terrible at this cottage. One of the beds is at an angle so you'll feel like you're constantly falling off it, but even worse than this was the thick fug of air freshener fumes that permeated the place. I hadn't realised this was what was keeping me awake until my light went off and I saw a little glowing device in the small bedroom. It was plugged in and emitting powerful fumes the whole time. I know from previous experience that these things set my immune system on edge, so I had no choice but to get up, turn it off, then try to clear the air by leaving an open window all night.
Apart from this, the cottage is fine unless you're over about 5' 4" tall, in which case you'll be ducking your head nearly everywhere upstairs and between rooms down. You should get the heating on as soon as you arrive if you want to be comfortable in the living room later in the evening, as there's only one radiator in there, behind a sofa, and you should move the sensor for the heating away from the cooking systems in the kitchen if it's to be any use - I recommend putting it in the living room, though you'll have to be careful not to overheat the bedrooms. There aren't any materials to light the wood burner. The shower is bizarrely installed such that you cannot help but flood the floor with water when you use it. The lock box for the key is also very fiddly. You'll need two hands and some patience. No streaming services.
I put these problems to the proprietor but they showed no interest at all in making it up to us, beyond some empty words about fixing the problems for the next guests. When the cost is over £100 a night, you'd expect such a big profit margin that, whilst they're still getting things right, they'd be happy to refund 50% for any early guests who provide good feedback.

Lovely little cottage in a cute village
My bed hadn't been changed ...had previous guests food in my bed ..rang the owner she came and changed my bed she asked my friend if his bed was ok he replied that he thinks it is .... how wrong was he !! He woke up with someone dirty boxers round his feet ... we contacted booking.com and was replied by the owner " I brought you wine and chocolates and asked you if you wanted me to change the other bed and you said no" .....rude ! Then declared her cleaner was mortified ! THE PROOF WAS THERE ....BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 50% REFUND FOR A WEEK
⚠️ AVOID BECAUSE IF THEY CANT RUN A CLEAN HOUSE AND ADMIT WHEN WRONG THEN WHAT ELSE IS THERE .
ALSO I BELIVE THE OWNER IS THE CLEANER. £100 quid for a rubbish experience that was supposed to be my best mates birthday present .... think before ya book here 🤔.... because they cant admit when wrong ...bad business !!!!!! AND DONT PAY OUT WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD ...SO HERES YA STINKY REVIEW LIKE YA STINKY BEDS

Quaint little cottage which feels like we were in the The Holiday film. A real home from home with gorgeous period features. The hosts were really welcoming and accommodating.

Whitebrook Cottage is a characterful property, it gives the impression of being refurbished relatively recently while still maintaining its charm (the stairs don’t all seem to be the same height and the upstairs floors are a bit uneven).
The property has everything you need, smart TV, WiFi, microwave, toaster and the like; the bathroom is nice, with a decent sized bath with a shower over. The two bedrooms are nice though we only slept in one so can’t guarantee that both beds are equally comfortable.
There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property. There is probably room to park outside but there was a large piece of broken car bumper on the road which was a bit worrying so I parked at the bottom of the hill, near the Mellor Brook Bridge.

The cottage was very cosy and clean throughout. The beds were extremely comfortable to sleep in and hardly any noise from passing traffic, so a good night's sleep was had. The bathroom was roomy and very modern and there was everything you'd need in the kitchen.
We couldn't park directly out front so parked at the nearby pub and the actual cottage took us a while to locate as it's tucked down the side of another cottage. I had to ask a neighbour where it was in the end. The cottage is lovely but we did miss a table of some kind to put our drinks on and for playing family games together, otherwise it's a fab place to stay.
