The location within the city walls made it very easy to walk around the main attractions. Although there was no one to greet us when we arrived in the afternoon, the host got us through the process by phone. We met Camilla (the co-host) twice in the mornings of our two-night stay and she was very friendly and informative about Siena's traditions (we can speak Italian).
The noise from the street, though not within the control of the hosts, can be annoying sometimes, especially early morning. It takes a while to get hot water, which seems to be an issue with all accommodations in historic buildings. The water pressure is not very strong, but not too bad. Just to clarify, the accommodation is a sub-divided (into rooms) apartment, part of a historic building. The room could have had better heating, especially in the bathroom. Also, the windows lacked a proper curtain to block light, especially for the morning when we wanted to sleep in.

Awesome place to stay in Siena! Location is right next to the Cathedral! You can’t park inside the Siena walls, so the hotel has a valet service that you can use that works very well. (Additional cost). The room is absolutely gorgeous. The room is decorated so well and the bathroom has a beautiful tile floor. Room has so much character. Stayed in 6 different hotels across Europe on this trip, and this was my favorite one! It’s a 10!
