The information received before we stayed was good so we knew where it was and how to get in.
The beds were comfy and the only room that was on the cold side was the sitting room
The kitchen was nice and well equipped apart from a dirty oven and the freezer box (tiny one in the fridge) needed to be defrosted for it to be shut.
The decor is nicely done and although no sea view the location is nice and very cute
It was filthy!
Despite contacting host and stay when we arrived and requesting the black mould and filth be cleaned in the shower nothing happened and I had to go and buy cleaning products to clean it myself before it could be used and the shower pressure was a trickle!
Coffee machine present but no coffee pods
No wood or coal to even light one fire
1 loo roll left for 4 people for 3 days
Black rising damp in the sitting room
Carpets were filthy
Mildue stained sheets on one bed
I paid more money to book with a company thinking it would have better standards but was bitterly disappointed.

Gorgeous character property, fabulous location right in old village. Fabulous fireplace.
It was a little snug in the living room.

We have stayed here a few times previously, the cottage is in a great location and is very comfortable.
The bedrooms are comfortable and the shower room has under floor heating which is controlled in the kitchen.
The sofa was covered in dog hair and slobber stains which we cleaned up.
Fortunately we took our own logs/coal as there were none to get us started. This is worth bearing in mind if it’s your first visit.
There wasn’t any information pack which would be helpful with the heating/appliances.

A great location, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and very clean
I put Parking in the search, I think a bit of elasticity was used in the description as the parking is nearly half a mile away up a very steep hill, the compensation is that parking is free in November,

Great location.
The shower and sink in the bathroom were blocked and smelt. This meant that the person who showered second had to stand in the dirty, cold water of the person who had showered before. The water flooded most of the room. It meant that when we needed to use the loo later we got wet feet from cold dirty water. The shower tiles were also quite mouldy.

Shower took a while to drain. As it's a wet room the toilet was inaccessible for 30 mins after. Might need a rod! Thanks :-)

Great location in beautiful Staithes. A proper little fisherman’s cottage. Stylishly decorated, clean and cosy.
The curtains and blinds would benefit from a wash, as they have some mould on them, and will probably help with the damp smell (inevitable in an old, dark cottage but a wash would help with this).

Location
It was fine for three ladies, however had it been two couples it would have been very cosy in the kitchen and sitting area

Was self catering. Kitchen was fine and well equiped.
Filthy tiles in bathroom . Thick dust under bed. Inadequate heating and instructions..Deceptive instructions re parking which said that parking was 5mins away when in fact it is a twenty minute walk up a very steep hill and cost £8.00 a day not the £5 that was said. Also the property had very steep stairs. It should say on website that the property is totally unsuitable for the elderly or very young.
Also we were told that towels were provided but not told that you got one each for a week and had to pay if you wanted more. Photos were deceptive, the lounge was tiny and like a corridor. No way 4 people could use this comfortably. All in all if the description had been honest we would not have chosen to stay there.

Nice location, kitchen was pretty
FREEZING!!! no underfloor getting, house was very cold, emailed to see if logs ir coal was to ve used on the fire ( nothing available on artival), didn't get a reply so fire wasn't used. Slept in hoody the first 2 6 kept a day early because I didn't like freezing in bed. Mould on wall in lounge, mouldy mikdewy wet room. Not pleasant, I think I would have vern warmer in my tent!
Not very big, you would struggle with 4 people staying there

Cute traditional fisherman's cottage. Nicely decorated throughout, particularly the kitchen, which was also really well equipped. Great location.
The house was heated with electric heaters. When we arrived the house was freezing and the heaters didn't really heat it up adequately. We ended up buying logs to make a fire. The shower room was also freezing and the electric shower was very weak so you couldn't warm up in the shower. The pillows on the beds were really lumpy and uncomfortable. The little yard at the back was not very well maintained, with lots of rubbish in it that had blown in off the street. With some updates and changes this could be a fab little cottage to stay in.

The location was fabulous, and the property itself was very quaint with all the amenities required.
The house was very cold, even with all the radiators on & the bed in the master bedroom felt rather small. The sofa also seemed to have quite a few dog hairs on it.

Location was excellent, was fitted out to a good standard, lovely and clean. WiFi was good.
The radiator in the living room, didn’t provide enough heat, which meant we had to use the fire. There was a small amount of coal, but not enough for the 2 days we were there, which resulted in us purchasing fuel from the local convenience store. It might be pertinent to make guests aware to purchase coal if staying in the winter.

Was bang next to the harbour.could sit in the kitchen to eat. Well equipped kitchen. Shower spacious.
Not enough instructions on how to use things. No contact number for host to ask them about any how to use cooker. Towel rack was heatjbf for bathroom and it was so hot it burned you to touch it. What really disliked was Host and stays compulsory large deposit for damage which they held for 2 weeks then automatically took 11 pounds off or to take their insurance for 25. This to me is unfair terms and would not use them again. When booking through you I thought would be using your terms and conditions. Would like to be treated as a complaint.

Tastefully renovated little cottage that was warm, comfortable and very accommodating for families, in particular the availability of board games for rainy days.
Availability of parking proximal to the cottage. There’s a public car park 10 minutes away, however is a pain when it’s pouring down rain and blowing a gale.

Visited with my partner and our small dog. Lovely weekend, fantastic location so central. Everything we needed. Lovely size for us but could be a squeeze for 4 people! We would return again if we visit Staithes in the future!
Nothing everything was lovely

There was a wire basket in the shower fixed to the wall which was very rusty, we couldn’t get the underfloor heating to work in the bathroom. There was no phone signal in the property to make phone calls .

Quaint cottage. Great location. Communication with host was good. Car park close by. Comfortable beds and living area.
Unfortunately, the cottage had a terrible smell. Could not work out if it was gloss paint or paraffin. This impacted on the amount of time that we could spend in the cottage.

Great location, in Staithes amongst the narrow lanes and snickets and ginnels. Like a Doll's House and pefect for the two of us. Underfloor heating in the shower/wet room was a luxury and in a very sunny week, in the high 20s each day the house was comfortably cool. Kitchen was very well equipped - get yourself fit for the Le Creuset stewing pot! Nice little nespresso coffee machine and a cafetiere too.
Best settee was not aligned for the TV - a minor inconvenience - but for what TV we did watch, having Netflix/Prime options as well as basic Sky was good. Parking for unloading/loading was very tricky but the charm of Staithes is it's inaccessibility and we left the car in the top car park for £10/night and then didn't use it all week.

Lovely cottage, good base for visiting other area's, there was everything we needed, right in the heart of the village. The property was very cool downstairs, which was great as the weather was so hot.
I felt the cleanliness could have been better, the oven was dirty/greasy and the tiles in the shower were mouldy in parts, it didn't spoil the holiday, but for the price, we expected better. Fans would be a good addition for the bedrooms,

Amazing location. Loved the cosy fire in an evening. Nice and clean.
There is a problem with the electrics. The power goes off each time you switch on the shower. There is damp in a number of rooms. The toaster didn’t work. Lots of great dvds but no DVD player.

the location is great, gun gutter is a quiet area but close to the harbour and the pub. the property is well equipped with just about everything. the kitchen is modern and well stocked. the tv has sky and Netflix and access to other on demand tv very easily.
if you have the shower on the high setting the electrics trip out.
the electric wall heater in the lounge and main bedroom isn’t easy to fathom and could benefit from some clear instructions.
9.0 / 10.0
Great location. Lovely kitchen with everything you could need. Cosy cottage. Clean. Great use of space considering size of cottage.
The bathroom needed some work. Had to be very quick in the shower as the wet room started to fill to a worrying level. 50% of the time the shower fused the electrics. I find it hard to believe that this only started to occur during our stay.
