Fully renovated in 2018, Burton Cottage is a traditional fisherman’s cottage sitting in a unique location in Staithes and boasts magnificent views of the old village and harbour from the panoramic living room window. Within the cottage there is a fully modernised separate skylit kitchen, extremely spacious living and dining room complete with multi-fuel stove, 6ft farmhouse dining table, television and DVD player and a classical and retro vinyl collection for you to enjoy. The master bedroom is adorned with a luxurious king size bed and there are twin beds in the second bedroom. Renovated to a high standard whilst at the same time embellishing the character and style, Burton Cottage possesses all the curves and charm one would expect to find in a period property. The cottage is suitable for couples and families, we provide stair gates, children’s toys and books and a high chair and cot on request. This is a pet friendly cottage, with free unlimited WiFi and a car parking permit is provided. Please note that you can not directly park outside the property. You can park nearer for unloading purposes and then the car park is a 5 min walk away.

As a holiday destination Staithes has much to offer, whether it be a rich and thriving artistic scene, a fascinating industrial past, a stunning coast line full of fossils and cliff top walks, fantastic fresh seafood and a number of fine hostelries both on the sea front and inland.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Burton Cottage. There is a great seaview from the cottage and it is full of character and was very well equipped for our needs. Staithes is quaint and friendly with two good pubs that serve food. Staithes was surprisingly quiet when we were there, as we were so well sheltered from the strong southwesterly winds.

Stayed at Burton cottage for 5 days, fantastic, the views from the living room were incredible, great location for all the amenities.Loved relaxing after a walk along the Cleveland Way with the wood burner on and a big glass of wine watching the world go by.Sinead really great regarding the cottage, immediate response. 5 stars.Certainly recommend the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy cottage with wonderful views of the harbour. The reading nook was a lovely touch and we all enjoyed retreating to it to read or listen to music. Sitting by the fire after a day walking along the Cleveland Way, beachcoming or mooching around the delightful cobbled streets and alleys, sipping a glass of wine was just too good to be true. A lovely touch by the hosts to provide wine and biscuits on arrival. We all hope to Return to Staithes and Burton cottage again soon.

Our four night stay at Burton Cottage fulfilled all our needs for an escape from our 'real world'. Everything was clean, comfortable and our creature comforts catered for. We were blessed with sunshine, but on the one cool day we succumbed and lit the log burner, it was super. As everyone mentions the views from the cottage are spectacular, so don't forget to bring your binoculars. The provision of the parking permit is a bonus, and encouraged us to leave our car there and venture out on foot along the Cleveland Way, and to use the local bus service. 3 single to Whitby, a bargain!localservicespeviewsspectacular

I totally recommend Burton Cottage. Sinead, the owner is very helpful and clear with instructions. The location is amazing with a wonderful view of the bay from the lounge window. Burton cottage is ideally placed, 2 minutes into the village and 2 minutes up to the Cleveland Way. And fantastic views out to sea. It had everything you’d need in terms of facilities; the (Emma) bed was very comfortable; and there’s plenty of space in the living area. Not an issue for us 60 year olds, but the stairs are quite steep so one to be aware of.

Little semi detached property, ideally positioned to explore the village and surrounding areas. Car park is about 100 yards away, accessed via small footpath. The house is well furnished and comfortable, lovely kitchen and bedrooms. We used the fire stove at night and had to have the electric wall heaters on all the time. The bathroom was a real challenge, low ceiling meant i could not stand in the shower, the shower did not work properly and the bathroom had no heating. Great unspoilt view of the harbour and open sea. The Cod and Lobster pub a very short walk offered great food and company. We loved our stay at the property and left with a heavy heart. A word to the wise if you have any mobility condition then this will not be for you.

Stayed in December and it was Decorated for Christmas which was lovely. 10/10 for everything The only thing needed is an analogue map of the village so know where proud is. Just back from a lovely weekend away in Staithes. Burton Cottage was much bigger than the pictures showed, and we were immediately taken by the views over the bay. The cottage had everything you needed, and was very clean. Would advise you read the small print of the permit, we didnt and ended up with a parking fine! I would

The photos don’t do the place justice. It’s much bigger than it looks. Huge bedroom and generous fully equipped kitchen. Arguably the best views in Staithes. The inconvenience of carrying to and from the car park is soon forgotten when relaxing in the comfy chairs in front of the fire listening to records. Perfect for when the weather closes in. Spotlessly clean and great as long as you’re not too tall or struggle with steps. Have already recommended to a friend! Thanks.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and has the most fantastic view across the harbour. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful décor, and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. We had planned to visit various places around the area but we found Burton Cottage so relaxing that we didn't venture further than Staithes and ended up spending the weekend exploring the village, enjoying coffee and cake in the local cafes, listening to the cottage's eclectic vinyl collection and spending a lot of time reading and gazing out of the window at that view! There's a certain magic about Burton Cottage that just makes you switch off from the outside world and relax. We can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage is full of character and charm and is extremely clean. Loved sitting at the dining table with a glass of wine every evening to watch the magnetic view as day turned into night. Staithes is a good base to explore the area and the hike to the cottage from the top car park is not challenging and well worth the effort.

This is a lovely cottage set back from the main street, it is accessed via various steps and alleyways which our children loved exploring (favourite was discovering they ended up in Dog Loup!). Situated roughly halfway between Bank Top Cark Park and the Harbour Front it makes easy walking whichever way you need to go. House was spotless, lovely welcome treat left for us and comfy beds. Kitchen is a lovely size, equipped with everything you need. Views from the living room absolutely spectacular, it was nice to just sit and watch the harbour. Children loved the attic bedroom with its own spectacular views. Such a wonderful cottage, we'll definitely be back!

Our second stay at Burton Cottage. It’s absolutely perfect for us. Great location and amazing view out of the lounge window. Spotlessly clean as last time we stayed. A nicely renovated and well presented cottage with a fabulous view of the harbour from the dining table. A real delight to have a lazy breakfast whilst watching the goings on. Unfortunately the local electrical company had temporarily closed the top path to the cottage so our legs were tested by the hill over the week - probably good for us though!
