A memorable glamping experience made extra special by amazing staff

We had a lovely glamping experience at Autentik and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed, including organising scooter hire. We were especially grateful to be given a larger scooter, which made a big difference given the rough road conditions on Nusa Penida. Breakfast was great, with the banana fritters being a particular highlight. The location felt easy enough to get around from, and the pool and pool area were a real standout, beautiful and very relaxing. The tents are truly immersed in nature, so it’s worth being prepared for the occasional bug making its way inside. That said, it added to the authentic glamping feel. Seeing monkeys around the property was an unforgettable bonus. We only stayed two nights, but Autentik was a wonderful base for a short exploration of the island and a unique way to experience Nusa Penida.

A beautiful and unique stay

We had a really lovely stay at Autentik Nusa Penida. Staying in the tent during the rainy season was such a special experience, falling asleep while listening to the sound of rain was incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The atmosphere is very natural and cozy, and the place feels like a little escape from the busy world.

The only thing that could be improved is the noise from some neighboring tents. A tent nearby were talking loudly and playing music quite late, which disturbed the quiet and calm vibe of the place. It would be great if the hotel could have clearer rules about keeping noise down at night.

Luxurious yet simple and connected

I LOVED IT! felt so luxurious yet so simple! I recommend the jungle view. The staff was lovely! Truly an amazing experience, I went with a friend but definitely à beautiful and romantic experience to do with a partner!

Good for 1-2 nights, nice breakfast, efficient communication

The tents are very clean and structure is very sound. We had very intense rain for up to 24hrs on arrival and I was worried that we may get wet or tent have leaks. Absolutely no issues. Great builds. Communication very good and efficient through WhatsApp. Nice breakfast. Cool that you may see monkeys! They are not a pest. We just saw them in the trees but they respected boundaries. Highly recommend the restaurant Nusava, opposite (French inspired cuisine). We went 3 times in the space of 24 hours - it is amazing food and lovely staff.

The area has little to do. Because of poor weather we didn’t hire a moped. The taxi’s were overpriced, 200k just to go about 4 minutes down the road to Crystal Bay (return) was a tourist trap rip-off. The tents are closer to one another than I expected from photos. No privacy issues but if we didn’t have the jungle view (which was great) staying in a tent overlooking the back of the tent in front would have been a bit of a pointless booking. Just some safety concerns with the guide rope surrounding the tents. They cannot take any weight and already have been lightly patched/reconnected in multiple places. I slightly leant on ours at one point and it broke in half. I nearly fell down into the grounds below but luckily caught my balance. I could see some others broken too.

My stay is 11 out of 10!

The experience is unique and expectional, I love the open shower. Because it’s camp so some insects and gekko will come visit 😆, but staffs will come make my bed and tidy up the space everyday. There’s a water dispenser in the room made my stay very convenient. The breakfast is exceptional as well, it’s simple, healthy and tasty. Having breakfast with the view of pool is very pleasant. Very close to my dive shop. If you gonna dive Reeflex this hotel is a excellent company.

The interior light is a bit not enough for me. But not necessarily a down side for all. Maybe some will enjoy the vibe.

A unique jungle stay with comfort

Staying in a tent with a jungle view was a unique experience. The staff was really good, helping us with the bags to and from the room. The breakfast was excellent.

It was raining hard which made the terrace wet. Since the tents are "no shoes allowed", it was hard to get to the shoes with dry feet.

One of the absolute highlights was watching the wild monkeys in the evening.

Since it’s ultimately a tent, some small things are unavoidable - like the open bathroom area where an insect or gecko might appear. The place is kept clean with daily service, but it’s good to know what to expect. I would have preferred a simpler communication process as well - fewer PDFs, and just a phone number (i.e. to a driver) to manage things directly would have made it easier.

Entrance fee to the city has to be paid by hotel , instead we paid prior entry to the island No showering area at the swimming pool Second room that we stay was dirty , the faucet doesn’t function properly , Two big spiders in the room , Only one mirror in the toilet There is no light in the pool area , if you want to stay late to read book or drink Lightening is poor , at night you may have issue to reach your tent

Rare experience to see monkey family swinging in the trees.

Valley view tent had amazing views and it was amazing to sit and watch monkeys playing in the trees. Staff were very helpful, helping to arrange a car and recommending places to visit. Breakfast was simple but tasty.

As soon as you arrive, the staff share everything you would need to know about the resort, neighboring restaurants, and Nusa Penida in general (activities, sights, etc etc) in very clean pdfs which I found myself going back to several times throughout my 4 night stay. The breakfast was excellent. A good mix of protein, lots of fruit, delicious fresh jam, dragonfruit juice, and coffee, among other delicious bits. I found myself looking forward to it daily. The staff was incredibly attentive, with all requests being dealt with genuine care, kindness and efficiency. Let alone, the resort itself - there is something so inexplicably beautiful about being suspended in a comfortable, structured tent amid mother nature. And to top it off you can also lounge by their lovely infinity pool, and a view of the jungle. Oh, and seeing the monkeys, if you're lucky. Not aggressive or intrusive at all, just going about their business in the trees with their families.

Bear in mind that you will hear animal / cricket / gecko sounds in the night. I cannot recall whether they provide ear plugs (I had my own) but make sure you ask / are prepared! I didn't personally have a problem with this (in fact it added to the charm) as I was expecting it given the resort is practically nestled in a jungle.

Chill, beautiful and well maintained place

The place is very well maintained and the villa 7 that we got had the best subset views from the property. Highlights were the monkeys on the surrounding trees but they never bothered us. The staff is super polite and helpful. The place has very chill vibes and is super clean. There are few restaurants just 50-60m across the road.

Real authentic

I loved the clean feeling of the place and the proximity to nature - it’s such a joy to have breakfast with the monkeys. The bed, the tent, the shower - all have a feeling of a four star hotel - I am in love with ‘glamping’ now :)

Treat yourself and book this accommodation!

This was our best stay in Indonesia. Truly felt on vacation. It was a great experience! The service was above and beyond, the suggestions and coordination for day trips and activities was perfect. The facilities were extraordinary. The recommended restaurants were great. The included breakfast was amazing and quite sufficient, we are still dreaming of the delicious sourdough bread. Totally worth the booking, do yourself a favor and book this!

Amazing nature & relaxation

Amazing scenery with super friendly staff who were very organised and gave us a welcome pack filled with discounted activities and restaurants that they recommend. The whole pace is very clean and every "tent' is amazing and comes with accessories like AC and even a water cooler free of charge. We saw an amazing sunset from the comfort of our bed and even experienced baby monkeys jumping on the tent roofs! Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very peaceful and relaxing break with plenty of nature.

Very unique experience. You leaving in a tent with 5+service. Everything was perfect: clean, AC, staff, pool, comfortable bed. At night you can hear all nature around you . All rooms have toilet ( toilet have open space, not protected by net or windows) AC Water cooler Mini bar

Breakfast can be more generous. You have one 1 of 3 option p.p. For extra you need to pay. Garden view rooms : have no view. Just next tent and few trees.

An excellent stay for those looking for glamping.

The Location is pretty close to Crystal Beach, so that was convenient. The breakfast menu had plenty of options, even for vegetarians such as myself. The place is quite peaceful, and the jungle view was amazing.

I wish it also had lunch and dinner options. Also wish they had an option to request a driver to pick up and drop off at the port.

Glamping paradise in Nusa Penida

We loved our stay! The place is incredibly green, clean, and well-maintained. The rooms are very spacious and come with lovely balconies where you can enjoy the surrounding nature—and even spot some adorable little monkeys playing nearby! The pool area is also fantastic, and it's the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Breakfast was absolutely delicious—we had the smoothie bowls every morning, and they were amazing. The staff is very kind and helpful, especially Soni, who was exceptionally attentive throughout our stay.

We liked everything. Maybe just adding a small hairdryer would be nice;)

Cozy by nature, indeed !

The staffs are amazing, friendly and super helpful. The hotel itself is unique and will not forget the nature around it! We were so lucky to have visitors like the monkey 🐒, such a nice experience to face when you wake up ! Regarding their breakfast, they provided a variety of breakfast, and they gave us the chance to choose where you want to enjoy your breakfast at (your fabulous balcony, the unique pool, or at the restaurant) Of course highly recommended this property ! To conclude, “cozy by nature” as their slogan says, indeed 😍 🌴!

It's a very quiet area with various local restaurants around. The main tourist attractions are very accessible and close by. Everyone is smiling and accommodating. The receptionist did an amazing job at helping us and pointing us in the right direction. The glamping itself is wonderful but I believe the staff makes this place special. We will definitely come back.

We loved our glamping on Nusa Penida experience It was a great location, very peaceful with a lovely jungle view. A piece of paradise!

This place is absolutely stunning! I am so happy I came across this place and managed to book it. The experience from the very beginning - starting with a check-in - was brilliant. The staff is lovely, the pool amazing, and the room itself is very comfortable and spotless clean. Breakfast was delicious! I didn't want to leave, and hopefully I will be able to come back one day for longer!

I am a solo traveler - would be great to have an opportunity to lock the tent for the night as I was a bit uncomfortable and concerned at night.

A must do experience in Nusa Pendida!!

We loved the experience!! The staff was incredible. My husband had gotten a little sick and they were really attentive. Before I had arrived at the airport, they helped with many things as well. The view from our tent was spectacular. The tent had everything we needed - they literally had thought of everything. The breakfast was incredible!! Overall amazing experience. Stunning

This place is otherworldly; seriously cool tents, which are air conditioned and comfortable, the pool is beautiful and very well maintained, it’s quiet and tranquil. A lot of love and care has gone into setting this resort up and it shines through. The crepes at breakfast were lovely, and they use fresh loaves for toast (something we haven’t seen at another resort). They also have an honour system fridge near reception where you can grab a drink any time of day and log it to your room. The owners and management are clearly passionate about hospitality, we would stay here forever if we could.

Amazing stay at Autentik

The tents are clean, beautiful & have so many amenities to make you comfortable. The pool is great. They let you rent motorbikes from them which is very convenient. It was also nice to book the boat and car transfer with them for convenience. They even made a flower arrangement for our honeymoon. Breakfast was also so nice and could be brought to your tent each morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Incredibly authentic experience, highly recommended

Loved the aesthetic, loved the staff and our tent! Autentik is exactly that, authentic. If you want to spend the night literally sleeping in the jungle surrounded by monkeys, birds and even chickens then you really cannot go wrong. Very unique experience and one that I won’t forget, genuinely a memorable time spent here. The staff go above and beyond, pickup and drop off to the port as well as boat travel all taken care of, no issues at any point. We will be recommending this place to anyone that will listen, if we head back to Penida then we’ll be heading back to Autentik 100%

Gotta be honest, really hard to fault the place but I’ll be as critical as I can just to give a balanced view. The pool is super idyllic but did make my shorts go a shade of green (not the first time this has happened on my travels), not a massive deal obviously. Also as some have stated already in the reviews, if you’re not comfortable with certain insects (spiders in particular) then this place might be a struggle to face some phobias. The team have done a great job of trying to make the tent as air tight as possible but the wild will find a way in some way or another. As long as you can deal with that you’ll be fine.

The most amazing stay. Absolutely exceeded our expectation. For what you pay, this would be $500 a night in NZ and it was only a third of that price here. The staff are amazing, very attentive and the location is just stunning. This place was the highlight of our whole 3 week trip.
