House Susanne

Susanne and Peter are nice and friendly hosts! The check-in instructions we received via e-mail were clear but we happened to arrive when Susanne and Peter were home so they welcomed us warmly and explained the details to us. No shoes allowed upstairs so there were enough slippers in different sizes and colours. The two rooms on the first floor share the bathroom which worked very well for us. And since it was a warm weekend there was a ventilator in our room which was really nice! We went for breakfast at the bakery down the street.

Great place to stay for a few days in Cologne at a very reasonable price. The family room is thoughtfully arranged and comfortably accommodates a family of four (two adults and two children). We had no issues during our stay. The internet connection was reliable, the beds were comfortable, and the shower worked well. Essential toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toilet paper were provided in sufficient quantities. If you have specific preferences, there is a REWE supermarket within walking distance. The city center and the main train station can be reached in about 30 minutes by public transport with just one transfer. There were some roadworks during our visit, which may have affected travel times slightly, but overall transportation was convenient and caused no problems. There are also a couple of nice cafés near the REWE store. Even the local döner place turned out to be surprisingly good despite our initial impression. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would happily recommend this accommodation.

One small suggestion for improvement would be to add a few more power outlets in the room. We brought our own multi-port charging station (8 ports to one outlet) and few ports for notebooks, which helped a lot, but nowadays most travelers need to charge several devices (telephone, tablet, game console, watches and other) per person overnight. As a result, the number of available outlets may not always be sufficient for all guests and their gadgets in one room.

Alles war super und hat reibungslos funktioniert. Die Gastgeber waren jederzeit erreichbar, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und würden die Unterkunft jederzeit weiterempfehlen.
