55 Aira Hotel

The Hotel is immediately outside the Palermo Centrale railway station. The breakfast was served in the adjacent Cafe, which appears to be part of the same establishment, and comprised of a typically Italian buffet of cold food.

The rooms are all up some fairly steep stairs so it might not be suitable for those who have difficulty walking.

Super polite staff and conveniently located in front of train station and airport shuttle stop. We arrived 1 AM so that was very convienent. They have 24 hs fromt desk which its important to us.

Rooma a bit outdated but ok

Practical location for visiting old center...and close to train and bus station for onward travel

The area around the hotel is a bit decrepit...some garbage lying around a many buildings seemingly in serious need of TLC

The girl at the reception was amazing, she always greeted us and smiled, making our day better, some of the staff were very nice and joking! I was pleasantly surprised that even though I didn't know Italian, everyone in the hotel spoke English to us! Thank you!

When we entered the reception we were greeted by a "little animal", on the first evening when we wanted to eat we were treated quite badly by one of the ladies who served us, we wanted to sit in the restaurant at the table and she told us in a superior manner that those tables were reserved, I want to mention that there was no one else in the restaurant and she put us at a table somewhere further back where you can leave your luggage, the pizza we ate that evening was not heated even though we asked for it to be heated and it tasted not ok from several points of view such as: the crust was not done and was wet, the topping was dry! but overall it was good, the rest of the staff was ok! What was happening near the hotel in that park wasn't okay either, you don't have peace because of the people who gather in that park at night!
