We will not return, due to cleanliness and noise issues

Very comfortable bed, looked very promising from the outside.

Our room was badly in need of a deep clean, hall ways, lift and chairs in the restaurant were in a similar condition. To add to the situation, we didn’t sleep very well as repetitive booming music could be heard throughout the night.

Great as usual, comfortable, friendly staff but the property is starting to get a little run down.

I love how friendly the staff are and generally how clean it is and the location.

The comfort room I booked had an unfinished food item in the fridge and there was a hair in the toilet across the lid and the toilet roll looked like it was 75% used, so the room was not properly prepared for me. I contacted reception and they immediately moved me but it had to be downgraded to a family room. I was disappointed but it was well handled by the staff.

Shocking & dirty duvets with stains & stains all in the carpets

During my stay, I encountered multiple serious cleanliness and hygiene issues, including: • Extremely dirty lift and carpets • Hairs found in the shower • A visibly dirty spoon left in the room • Multiple marks and stains on the duvet The standard of cleanliness fell far below what is reasonably expected from a hotel and made my stay uncomfortable and unacceptable. This experience did not reflect the service or quality advertised, nor the level I paid for.

Convenient location. Rooms ok . Setting is good for walks short and long . Free parking The staff here are brilliant - helpful and accommodating they are quick to resolve any issues and welcome you with a warmth of the north !

It’s at road services so prices at eateries are higher than average. Stay here often and it’s hit and miss with the room cleanliness and the breakfast offer. Nothing major

Some unsafe and unhygienic issues, but spacious and in a handy location

The location was great and the staff on duty were helpful and polite. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size.

The accessible shower seat was filthy with a heavy build up of scum. The back of the shower seat was broken and came away from the wall. The spare pillow had been slept on and was dirty. The shower gel dispenser was empty.

Good, comfortable stay

The room was nice and big with a chair to watch TV. lots of food places to get a meal or take away.

Shower partition allowed water to spill out on to the floor, resulting in having to use spare towels to dry it. Also having to book a table and wait 15 to 30 minutes even when the restaurant isn't busy seems strange and not helpful. Internet doesn't work for laptop or firestick. not sure what it's for

Poor experience.

From the outside, the building is new and modern. Lots of food options next door although opening times will need checking. Room/bathroom were fine.

Staff were disorganised.Communal carpets terribly dirty and stained. Breakfast was chaotic. Quite a few things not replenished so empty baskets for pancakes/pastries just not replaced.Not a very nice atmosphere. Will not be staying here ever again.

Location is good and the reception staff is friendly.

Horrible breakfast , very rude staff . On Sunday morning they told pastry items are finished, old chewy sausages , no fried eggs and all fruits mixed together in syrup.

Was very pleased with the staff as helpful and friendly even with a late check in. Was disappointed in the room however, the bathroom was filthy, build up grime and lime scale. The sink was black round the edges of the tap and the plug was sticky and over all dirty. Mirror has splashes on it of toothpaste and the floors weren’t hovered or mopped as dust piles and hair were in corners and generally over the floor. Fuse on the tall lamp was blown and counter wasn’t ripped properly. Bedding had stains on it and pillows soiled. This was room 149. The bar was reasonably priced however the draft beer was warm and flat and the draft lemonade was also warm and flat. Again, the staff were very good and attentive.

The room and car park

Underneath chrome tap head filthy you can see it sat on toilet . Dark guy cleaning restaurant did not acknowledge my 2 smiles he worked at turtle pace , tables were filthy , surrounding us , he’d go in kitchen with 3 cups etc he was doing a lot of leg work . Give him a trolley tray . Cleaners for rooms was nice . Lad on reception was nice. We was not told we had to leave a sign for room cleaning so came back to dirty towels stinking bin bed unmade etc he apologised said he forgot to tell us . Mattress was lumpy not as nice as premier inn . Breakfast was cooked perfect , not enough fruit and pastry variety no orange juice 2 days no flavoured yoghurts , coffee machine pretty much not good .

Although located close to a motorway, it was exceptionally quiet and had grounds that you could walk in behind the hotel. Upon arriving at reception, we were greeted by Claire who was extremely pleasant and it felt as if we have been using the hotel for a long time as her greeting was friendly and very welcoming. Outstanding. We decided to eat at the hotel because the prices seemed extremely reasonable and we were not disappointed. We used the restaurant for two nights and each of our meals were cooked fresh and were beautifully hot. We had the opportunity to chat with Donna who also was extremely pleasant and treated us as if we were regular visitors. Not only were the rooms clean and spacious, the quality of the staff we met were not the usual attitude of a corporate hotel chain but more akin to a small family hotel. Totally recommended. Our special thanks to Claire and Donna who made our stay even more memorable.

Generally, we had nothing to complain about. If we had to pick one thing, our day of departure (and when Donna was not on shift), the buffet breakfast was left a little sparse (due to a large group being in before us) and we had to ask for to have various items to be replenished. There were a couple of items that were not available in the hot buffet which was disappointing. The staff on duty didn’t seem too proactive to keep the area ‘topped up’.

Quiet room, facing garden. Room was good size, beds comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly during our stay. Dinner was good, they served us quite late on a Sunday night.

A Comfortable One Night Break

For a one night break during a 9 hour trip it is ideal. Comfortable bed. Nicely air-conditioned and quiet rooms. Dog friendly great walks around the lake and along the river. Choice of eating places.

overnight stay to break journey

Large spacious room overlooking the dog walking area which was peaceful and quiet. Lovely air conditioning as it was very hot outside.

Stain on the duvet cover. The carpets in the corridors were stained making it look very dirty and cheap.
