Château de Villers-Châtel

Real authentic french private chateau with all the pro and cons attached to that. Don't expect luxury! Nice reception when we arrived even though owners were shortly absent. Fantastic old school furniture and atmosphere. We liked the tea maker in the room very much! (Infusion tea)

There is no fan and temperatures are high momentarily 32c. On top of that a plastic matress cover will make your night even warmer. Because of that we did not sleep much unfortunately. Breakfast is of high quality but very few options to choose from, even the tea served, was only one kind of black tea without asking what kind tea we would like, ( I can't drink cafeïne). For me having a tea or infusion choice is less than a basic standard. We have stayed in over 100 french chateaux but this breakfast was one of the most pover ones.

Prachtig karakteristiek kasteel, heel rustig gelegen. Het is niet luxueus, maar wel heel goed. We hadden een ruime, prima kamer in de kasteeltoren. Het diner is ook een aanrader, eten wat de pot schaft, met goede wijnen. De gastvrijheid tot slot was top!

Het is een prachtige omgeving,heel veel natuur. Wij waren de enige gasten meer doen deze mesen van bijna 80 jaar niet.

Heeeelll erg oud ,niet onderhouden maar het is de 5e generatie en daar is waarschijnlijk geen geld voor. De foto’s zijn erg mooi maar in werkelijkheid is het anders.
