Everything was well-prepared!

The owner was friendly, came to search us when we were searching the property. We felt welcomed. The facilities looked simple, but everything was well considered. We loved the bed especially!

The conversation about the check-in time gave us a bit of pressure.

Very good

Nathalie and Marc were very welcoming hosts. Their location is great for exploring Douai which has an ornate Gothic-style belfry from 1380. The room was lovely and quiet with interesting features on the theme of art and artists. Marc had lots of information on things to see and places to go around Douai. He also got us a table at the local Italian restaurant which was very busy that night. The food there was amazing and the staff were good fun. Breakfast at the Art House featured wonderful fresh squeezed orange juice and great croissants. They are located about 90mins by car south of Calais which makes it an excellent location to start a tour of France from if you want to quickly get into the country. The location is also convenient if you want to see the WWI Canadian cemetery near Vimy, which is incredibly interesting for its museum and the still present trenches and No Man's Land.

Good

Located in the city center this place has quite the charm. It is a tall building with wooden stairs leading to your room. The host was very friendly and the breakfast was wonderful! Fresh orange juice and lots of other goodies to eat in the morning.

The bed was small more like a 1.5 bed and not a double bed. Just a note: it says free parking and electric parking but this is misleading. The (electric) parking is street parking. We specifically booked this place to charge our EV before continuing our trip back home with 100% charge and we were anxious when we found out there were only 2 electric parking charging ports on the street. Luckily one was free, but imagine if one wasn't.

Our host Nathalie was so lovely & accommodating, she went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable & fed us up for our days adventures each morning at breakfast. The handy courtyard is ideal for storing bicycles

Very nice B&B in Douai. The owners were very nice and had great eye for detail. So had they made sure that the clocks in the room didn't produce any noise. Again, sounds like a detail, until you are kept awake in the night by the ticking of a clock.

Bonne découverte pour y dormir sur Douai.

Idéalement placé pour visiter Douai ou se rendre à un spectacle à Gayant expo. Bonnes correspondances avec les propriétaires. Très bon petit déjeuner, rien ne manque. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Juste un peu difficile pour trouver à se garer, la patience aide. La salle de bain est un peu étroite mais fonctionnelle.

Positif pour une étape,mais pour les mobiles.

Nous avons tout aimé. Le seul soucis a été de monter et descendre nos petits bagages : nous sommes âgés et les étages sont hauts (il y a même des entresols). Nous ne savions pas en réservant que cet établissement est réservé aux mobiles. Nous étions au 2e étage. Aucune aide car l'entrée se fait à distance : codes...Très positif : le calme et pouvoir être accueilli dans le créneau horaire choisi. Donc pour les jeunes bien mobiles c'est OK. Petits-déjeuners excellents et personne très accueillante.

Grosse déception.

Déjà, 21h00 pour la dernière limite d'accueil, c'est... 21h00 !!! J'ai envoyé un message pour dire que j'aurais peut-être 10mn à un quart d'heure de retard ( 950 kms de route d'une seule traite, il peut y avoir quelques aléas...), la réponse a été claire "Je ne reçois pas après 21h00. Nous ne sommes pas un hôtel, désolé. Vous pouvez annuler sur Booking si vous voulez.) A 17h00, sur l'autoroute entrain de rouler, vous hésitez... J'ai tenté d'expliquer, "beaucoup de route, s'il y a un bouchon..." Rien à faire. Bref, on a un peu accéléré, flirtant avec les limites de vitesse, et arrivée à 20h42... Ouf... Ensuite la chambre : très petite, "décoration" à la mode des années 70, salle de bain et WC... y'a pas. Faut descendre l'escalier et aller sur le palier. Privative, certes, mais si vous avez une envie pressante la nuit... Peignoir bien rêche fourni pour y aller, il doit avoir au moins 5 ans d'usage intensif. Enfin, le petit déjeuner. Jus d'orange pressé frais, super bon. Croissants mous caoutchouc, pain idem... Et la déco "art" ? quelques reproductions collées dans des cadres et posés ça et là (et même une affiche juste collée sur le mur dans ma chambre), une palette de peintre neuve posée sur un bureau. Tout, sauf un endroit cosy et artistique tel que ça dit l'être. Oubliez si vous avez de grosses valises : escalier très étroit et assez raide. Séjour donc très mitigé.
