Good place to stay for exploring WW1 sites

Perfect location in town, spacious room with character, nice courtyard, coffee machine, free parking

Construction work was happening at the property - not a huge problem but it would have been nice to be informed.

It could have been a nice stay, but the host was not organized to receive us

The location seemed fine, and it had parking. It is a nice property, with original architecture, so quite lovely.

There was noone at the property when we arrived, although we informed the host that we were arriving late. They did not provide us with a code to get into the building and they had not prepared a room for us, so we had to wait until they sent us a code to get in. It was very dark inside, there was noone there, we didn't know where the lights were and had to find our way around. They had not prepared a room for us, and told us to pick any room that had bedsheets on the bed. It was quite chilly in the room and we could not figure out how to turn on the heat. Some instructions left in the room on how to use the appliances would be very helpful for international travellers, as we are not familiar with the appliances/heating devices in Europe.

Fascinating house in a good location . We would return

Had previously been a gentleman’s club reflected in the decor. Plenty of room to socialise with other guest should you want to and a large kitchen available to guests . Good central location

You need to be mobile to manage the stairs as they are narrow . We were on the 1st floor

The most pleasant stay and an all round wonderful experience. The property and room had so much character, was very homely and so spacious! The facilities were brilliant, Chantel and Peter the most welcoming and attentive hosts and very responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

nice location clean place

staff arranged for taxi to pick us up from brewery for 60€ - but it was only a 15 min taxi ride. taxi drive told staff to tell us of the price but we did not receive communication

Exceptional

Perfect ☺️ we enjoyed a walk from the guesthouse out to the Abbey Westvleteren - lovely walk. Breakfast was good - basket left outside the door with everything we could have wanted. Very clean, quiet but near enough to the Grand Place for a walk & restaurants. Very efficient check in & departure & super good off street parking. We will be back & have recommend to friends.

Coming back from France we found a perfect place to stay the night with your 4 kids: Outstanding!

Very pragmatic, creative, helpful and friendly hosts realizing the idea of an "open house". Really cool place! For a short visit as well as foor some relaxing days.

Historischen Ambiente, gut Lage, viele Parkplätze

Ein großes Appartment in einem historischen Gebäude, das innen schön hergerichtet und ausgestattet ist, sein Alter aber nicht verbergen kann (und muss). Gute Lage zur Innenstadt. Gut die Möglichkeit, sich in der Lounge mit Kaffee oder Tee zu versorgen. Viele Parklplätze im Hof

An manchen Stellen schlägt das Alter des Gebäudes eben doch zu: Die schweren Fenster müssen nach oben geschoben werden, damit sie dort halten, muss ein Rahmen mit Insektenschutzgitter in die Öffnung geklemmt werden. Für Menschen wie wir, die moderne Fenster gewohnt sind, eine etwas ungewöhnliche und nicht ganz ungefährliche Prozedur, da das schwere Fenster bis zum erfolgreichen Einklemmen gehalten werden muss. Sollte am besten irgendwo beschrieben sein.
