Ideal short stay in a romantic village

This is a very cosy cottage, well equipped in a brilliant location. There were logs for the first night heating and it was warm when we arrived (all rooms are equipped with additional heaters).

The blend upstairs need some fixing and the wireless only worked on the first and on the last day of our stays (but it is rural Scotland, not fault of the owners). We had difficulties to get the key (put in a key box outside) as this was worn out and difficult to open.

Very enjoyable location but disappointed due to the above comments.

The cottage is in a lovely location next to the sea.

Lack of hot water in shower and kitchen/bathroom taps Underfloor heating was poor. The wood burner eats up logs due to poor maintenance. No communication after concerns raised about the above. Windows could do with replacement and the old front door is like a wind tunnel.

Property in a great location with excellent views across the harbour and sea beyond. Cosy previous fisherman’s cottage with all that you need for a week away.

A few very small things like the twin bedroom door not closing properly, the old windows are sympathetic of the property type but new ones would make sense at some point.

Relaxed and recharged in the most beautiful location.

All we did was light the fire and relax. Walked on the beach everyday took a walk to Findlater Castle we kept driving to a minimum because we had heavy snow fall. However we did visit Banff, Buckie, Elgin, Cullen, Portsoy and Portnockie. Sandend felt like a film set absolutely beautiful place. I can't wait to return.

Could be so much better with a bit of owner attention...

The cottage was really nice. Very clean and well presented. The area was amazing. Very picturesque, very friendly. A great beach and fantastic walks.

The cottage wasn't really equipped for two teenagers and two adults. The sofa was really small and uncomfortable. Couldn't have spent more time there with that in mind. After a 5 hour drive we arrived to a welcome pack of 4 teabags, some sugar sachets, some coffee sachets and 4 little bits of shortbread, not even a pint of milk to make a cup of tea. There were also no bin bags in the property, only one decent sized wine glass and not even a water bowl for our dog. Se were also very apprehensive to use the log burner, as even though it was very cold on arrival, there were lots of negative comments in the visitor book about it. Luckily we had brought a couple of blankets. We holiday in cottages all over the North of Scotland and we've never had such an underwhelming welcome experience. To have to go out as soon as we go there to get really basic items with no shop in the village was disappointing. There was also lots of kitchen roll paper all over the shower, to which I did message the owner on the booking.com app to ask what was it for but I've still not recieved a reply. A few changes and this stay could be wonderful, unfortunately it's loosing drastically to lots of much better experiences. Also, there is a massive pile of unopened mail for the owners. Doesn't leave the best impression....

Location is excellent. Modern bathroom and shower. Boiler/utility room was great for drying kit. I brought a couple of kayaks which I left in the harbour area opposite the cottage. Great access to the sea from this location.

This updated cottage has 2 bedrooms in the roof space. Beware of the limited head room and sloping ceiling! Would be handy to have a mirror in the twin bedroom and another hanging rail in master bedroom. Could benefit from a couple of chopping boards with reference to kitchen equipment as only one bread board.

Such a lovely weekend in a perfect, peaceful location, blessed with beautiful weather. Super cottage

FABULOUS location. Well thought out layout which makes a small harbour cottage feel spacious. Amazing weather all weekend so we were not in the house much at all, instead enjoying the picnic bench on the edge of the harbour and the glorious beach. Great wood burner for when it cooled down in the evening. Excellent shower with plentiful hot water.

Sofa not great for sitting/chatting which may be an issue in inclement weather when you want to cosy up in comfort. No other issues at all, except that the wrong number for the lockbox was given by Booking.com in several emails. Thankfully we had stored a mobile number so could get correct number for the keys even though office numbers and e-help were on voicemail/auto response.
