Location was key for us as we were attending an event nearby.

Room was functional, clean and comfortable. Easy parking and fine for what we required for one night. We didn't use the bar or eat there so can't comment on that, but was as expected for the price.

Don't book the Blue Boar. You might turn up and there isn't a room for you!

The Blue Boar claimed that there was no booking in my name, even though I'd had confirmation from Booking.com. I had to find alternative accommodation at short notice.

Really good stay thank you

Bedrooms really nice, clean and beds really comfortable. Despite some locals saying pub used to be known as “rough” we found it really friendly and not noisy or loud. The landlord really friendly and helpful

Only criticism is that would be nice to be able to get coffee and food, even just sandwiches. We still would be happy to go back

There was nothing to like except some of the staff.

They do not provide Breakfast, Lunch or Evening meals. We had to go to a shop buy breakfast food to eat in the room. During our three nights the room was dreadfully hot from the sun through the 6 windows, even though we had a fan and the curtains were shut all the time. The room remained hot through the night despite us opening all the windows. Also the road outside was extremely busy and noisy until late at night and started again in the early in the mornings. We asked to change rooms, but were told that they were booked up.

Spacious and comfortable

The property is large.. the bedrooms were very spacious. All facilities were working effectively. There is also a microwave downstairs which is a nice bonus.

Overall Ok for 1 o 2 nights. Very green and peaceful surroundings.

I liked the green and general quiet area and having a Tesco and lidl nearby

The room was very warm even with windows slightly open. I was given an electric fan though which I couldn't use as not good for my health. The room size was OK with minimal facilities such as kettle and nescafé and tea. Unfortunately was facing the main road which with windows opened was not good. Furthermore all the time someone was entering or exiting their rooms there was a big slamming noise. I could also hear someone very loud until 1am!...There is no food available at the pub so I couldn't have breakfast or else, only pub drinks! There is however downstairs a microwave available so you can warm food there.

Comfortable and convenient as on the main bus route.

The room was spacious and clean. But the bonus is I could get a gin and tonic and take it back to the room for the evening and enjoy it in comfort.

I would have liked some sort of breakfast provided even if it’s continental on a tray left in the room.

Brilliant stay. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Warm room. Discovering the TV is a smart TV was a smashing bonus! Great location. I'll be staying again, for sure.

Good value accommodation

Value for money with all amenities that we needed including parking. Lots of power points! The bus into the City was across the road.

It would have been nice to have food at the pub but we were made aware of this prior to booking.

What I expected.

The location was perfect for my stay. A sizeable carpark that always had spaces available. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious and I liked that it had a bathtub. There was a bit of traffic noise and from the patrons of the pub below but as I booked a room above a pub on a main road I expected it and it was certainly not a problem.

It suited our need but for overall value, not really.

Location close to shops and family

Check in was in the bar so had to wait for guests to be served before we were looked after. If it was really busy you could wait a while. Walls were very thin so could hear what was going on next door, talking, toilet flushing. Room was adequate but only 1 chair for 2 people. Bed was small but was OK.

Brilliant stay in a lovely big room with a comfortable bed.

2 nights spent in a lovely big room. Tea, coffee and milk provided. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Bathroom shower was very good. Highly recommended.

it was clean and the bar had a great atmosphere in the evening, the staff were very accompanying and friendly

the fact that there is no one other than guests on the property overnight gave other guests the right to be up all night, shouting really loudly and then to become aggressive and confrontational when asked to keep down the noise. this completely ruined our stay and was unacceptable to the point we had to leave in the middle of the night to be able to get home to get some sleep. leaving the building without any staff overnight is really not acceptable .

Lovely place to stay

The room was nice and comfy, very much my kind of space. They went through a lot to make sure the room was very neat and comfortable. There was enough tea & coffee sachets to take care of us and the bathroom was well stocked. The heating in the room was super efficient and the entire neighbourhood was peaceful and quiet even with its proximity to the road.

There's no staff on hand at night if you wanted anything from the bar or kitchen.
