Good night stay for the price ,
Noisy rooms, needs updating, offers pizza but no chef to make them? Porridge was not edible and was not served to us we saw it come out and had to get it ourselves 10mins later.

Cosy!

The room was clean with everything required for a 1 night stay.
Staff were friendly and helpful
The building is very much in need of repair eg ill-fitting windows and all looks very 'tired'.
The staircase to the bedrooms was scruffy and in need of a good vacuum.
Very strange system for ordering/paying for food.

The room size was good and it was quite comfortable for 3 people. There wes basic tea and coffee kit in the room. Our room offered views of the road but it wasn't busy. Hot buffet breakfast is available by additional payment.
The shower seemed to have a minor leak causing some water to accommodate under the bathroom sink. Although a spare towel was enough to deal with it. The windows were quite jammed into position so ventilation wasn't great.

A bit scruffy could do with freshening up

Location was great
Very poor our room certainly could have done with a make over marked walls, and even ripped wallpaper that was coming away from the wall, furniture very tired

Comfortable clean room and modern. Nice to have a bar and restaurant downstairs
Parking can be difficult

Basic but well cooked breakfast. The room was comfortable with a view looking over the river. Nice riverside gardens which I expect is lovely in the summer for eating outside. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Matt who helped us with our suitcase and advice on bus services. Not a luxury hotel but good for the price and 10 minute bus into the centre.
Lots of steps so wouldn't be good for people with walking difficulties. Car parking a bit limited. The bar and restaurant were a little too quiet even on a Saturday night. Food could be a little slow to arrive as they seem to do a lot of deliveries. The whole place needs some investment and is a bit shabby.

Room was right by a busy road... people coming out of restaurant & bar were bloody noisy. Also endured late night roadworks up to almost midnight. Woken up several times a night due to 'bangs and whallops' from all around the hotel. When I left every member of staff vanished so there was no one to accept my feedback. Just left the keys and walked out... bad
Pretty much everything. Bed was acceptable

Just required a room for a single night and this met our requirements and was good value for money. The carvery meal in the hotel was good Our room was clean with a nice bathroom
Hotel looked a little jaded and dark decoration wise but as said it was one night stay only

The stairs to the property isn’t ideal with having a baby but it’s not a major problem.

Good room with view over the river. Comfortable bed.
Disturbed during the night with something starting up. Noise went on for 15 seconds then off for 30 mins throughout the night. Dinning tables were very sticky even after we asked for it to be wiped.

Lovely location - and not far from the Park and Ride - easier than parking in Norwich. Dinner options were good especially the Sunday carvery. Thanks to Mark for sorting out an armchair for me !
Quite noisy - not the road outside ! Breakfast options were sometimes tepid especially the fried eggs.

Our Room was very spacious, lovely and clean and the view couldn't be better over looking the river I even saw a Mudjack baby deear strolling across the lawn. Breakfast my Husband enjoyed his, however I made the wrong choice but the toast was OK.
I didn't like the stairs, but that was my own fault.

Helpful, pleasant staff, especially the cleaner who looked after our room
The food was not good. I didn't bother to go to breakfast.
Our last night coincided with the arrival of Storm Amy. As we live near the Scottish border, we decided that we should leave a day early. The reception was very understanding and contacted Head Office, who generously offered to reimburse 1 night's payment. Reception said it had all gone though and would be paid into our bank. Nothing arrived in the first week. We phoned the hotel and they said they'd look into it. We have heard nothing since. We can't contact them directly. Could Booking.com help? please.

The cooked breakfast was ok with toast and jam available. A decent latte coffee cost extra.
The accommodation is VERY tired and needs a good make over as it doesn’t resemble the on line pictures anymore. Room 5 must be the smallest they have at 3.5 meters sq. limited guest beer options so didn’t bother.

Building was VERY dated. All floors were sticky, dining room table and chairs were also sticky. Bedroom carpets were stained. Couldn't open the window, broken, boiling hot... Bed was clean. Stayed in Room 7 very noisy about 10oclock. Think we were over the kitchen. Very noisy in the morning too. But only PAID ÂŁ70 per night !!!

Lovely breakfast and great to eat by the river
We once again weren't given a river view room. after being told we would before booking (was told we would have one this time and that all family rooms have a river view but they dont), and the pull.out sofa bed for my child was very uncomfortable so he didn't sleep well.

Couldn’t open the windows, make-up lighting was poor, pillows were hard.

The location was gorgeous on the side of the river , the room was clean , handy to have the restaurant downstairs and good value for money
Bed was a bit firm and I do like a bath but only had shower
6.0 / 10.0
The rooms were quiet
Windows couldn’t open - the sash was broken ( and it couldn’t be locked as the catch was broken (on ground floor - made for anxious sleeping)
Everything was quite shabby. Paintwork peeling - sticky tables. wasn’t even convinced that the sheets were clean, they looked like they had already been slept in.
The breakfast was nothing like the advert. Missing items. When people complained one gentleman was able to get a refund, we were told to ´just wait’. Another lady commented that it was like Fawlty Towers.
I had pre warned the hotel that I was gluten free but they said they didn’t provide anything for people who were gluten free so several breakfast items were unavailable and they didn’t even have gf bread.
We asked for rooms next to each other but weren’t given them.
I use a walking stick and though I wasn’t expecting an accessible room it would have been nice if when they showed us to our room the landlord had helped me with my cabin sized suitcase .

Food wasn’t great and breakfast hot buffet wasn’t hot.

The bathroom had obviously been quite recently updated. The location was pretty central to where I wanted. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The room decor was dated and in need of a freshening up, the carpet was grubby and the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable for my tastes. My room was situated above the kitchen and the smells from there permeated into the room. It was also awfully warm because of this.
Had I have known beforehand I would have asked for a room at the rear of the hotel as my room was directly on the front and had the noise of traffic on the main road and patrons leaving the pub.
The stairs leading to the rooms were an issue for my Dad who struggles walking. There was no lift that I was made aware of and no mention of the accessibility to the rooms on the booking information. Had there been we would have likely booked elsewhere.

Excellent price, above a restaurant but never heard anything from the restaurant, all nice and clean with good storage space.
Paint flaking, needs redecorating and TLC
5.0 / 10.0
The river at the rear of the hotel, terrace & garden leading down to waterfront.
Poor customer service.
Overall rundown appearance, the toilets in the bar area are particularly bad, and need complete refurbishment.
