Not what we expected

Nice surroundings

There were cleanliness issues in the property. We found a used condom, down the sofa, mould in the bathroom, quite a bit of dust in the bedroom and the patio door, which led to the hot tub, was not working properly. Also, a hole in the wall. I wouldn’t usually moan, but we paid over £200 for a night, plus a £30 supplement for our dog and on arriving, realised that dogs also had to be kept on a lead. We previously stayed in a similar property in Ogmore, which was cheaper and the kitchen was more than equipped, this one wasn’t. Not even an oven glove, to get food out of the oven. When we returned the keys to reception, it was our intention to make staff aware of our experience, but it seems to be permanently closed, with no staff in sight.

Unhappy Stay

When we arrived, there was no water at the property. There had been a burst water pipe in the area and we were not informed prior to the visit. I had to go to reception to report the issue, and it was only then we were told. I asked how long it would be until the water would be back on and was told Welsh water were dealing with it, and it would be back on soon. We had no water, could not use the toilet, could not shower, wash any dishes and were not even given any bottles of water. We had to go down into the village and purchase our own. The hot tub was broke, and the door leading out to the hot tub was broken and would not slide open, meaning we had to walk outside and around the lodge to access the hot tub which was not ideal nor had any privacy.

The property could do with some maintenance . A bulb had gone , the French doors didn’t open properly . The kitchen equipment was limited

Nice location set in a small woodland in the countryside Nice short walk to stretch dog's legs Easy to get to local areas Kitchen was better than described

You could feel the bed springs and the bed board underneath when in the bed The gravel road had cars continuously driving up and down The hot tub was very dated with only a few (3-4) jets working and wasn't very private at the front Only 2 tiny towels provided per person Smelt strongly of cigarette smoke on arrival (it is no smoking) Some of the kitchen stuff needed rewashing before using No terrace or tether place to keep dog safe when outside Lack of cleaning equipment when they ask you to keep it clean Dated decoration and decor

Lovely place but needs to evaluate who they allow to stay there.

Location. We chose this due to the rural area expecting a quiet vacation with tranquil surroundings.

Very echoing within the lodge itself. Lots of what looked liked hen parties or groups of girls which were loud. Neighbours smoking weed and loud music. Not the kind of place I expected with children accompanying us. Such a shame as the area is beautiful. No lock on bathroom door. No soap in bathroom.

Stone path up hill horrible to drive, stones from hot tub ro shower would be better as a path. The walk over stream needs a bridge. The shower leaked. No facilities to wash clothes. Kitchen had no space to store food especially for 5 people.

Lovely location, cosy cabin. Had everything we needed. Nice walk around the wood on site and surrounding areas.

Not the greatest of stays

The actual location was stunning. Set in woodlands, it was a beautiful location with plenty of walks for me to take the dogs on. Hot tub was great.

Arrived and reception was closed. Just a sign saying lodge was unlocked. Turns out there was little choice in this, the door was impossible to lock so when venturing out, all of our belongings were not safe. The lodge smelled strongly of damp and it was all just a little grimy - the odd chip and pea in freezer which obviously hadn't been cleaned, fat on oven trays, bed sheets covered in hair, sweet wrappers under TV cabinet. No hot water on first day and hob did not work . Despite leaving answerphone messages and Facebook messages, no staff ever got back to us and never saw reception open for entire time we were there. With a good clean and better customer service the lodge and our stay could have been far more enjoyable.

Lovely and peaceful location, good spot for a base to visit Tenby and Saundersfoot. Enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed the Hot tub.

Avoid avoid avoid!!!! Completely disappointed with the lodges they were dirty and smelly on arrival. Nothing done to keep basic maintenance. No hot water in the morning by the second day we had no hot water at all. We went to the office no one there, called the emergency numbers no answer. We text them numerous times and still no response. In this day and age to have no response and leave a family with children with no hot water for 3 days is just plain disgusting. Especially when you pay so much for the lodges. My advice stay away and book somewhere else where they actually care about the customer

Fab!!

Property was extremely clean upon arrival. Very happy with the facilities. The property is situated on a lovely wooded area with a nice little walk on the doorstep. Not too far away from Tenby and saundersfoot. Very peaceful. Would definitely book again.

A lovely stay

The two of us and our daughter had a lovely time. The kitchen was plenty big enough, bedrooms had lots of storage and beds were comfy. Hot tub was big and already warm.

The lack of WiFi I think would bother some people but we actually found it quite nice not to have it! Mobile signal was excellent so not like you can’t access anything

Place was beautiful and clean, lovely location.

Shower didn't work, hot tub couldn't change the temperature so it was too hot to use. WiFi only worked if you were stood outside reception area.

I liked that it was bright and airy! Very clean and provided the basics.

There was no hot water. We tried finding someone to help us sort it out but couldn’t find anyone. Knocked on lodge 15 but no luck.

Living area was lovely. Kitchen well equipped. Single beds comfortable.

Quite shoddy. No toilet upstairs. Double downstairs bed not very comfortable. No step to get into hot tub which made it very hard. Although chairs were there but they were plastic. Not suitable.

It was very cosy and peaceful. Loved the location. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but Carmarthen was only about 2 miles away. The site manager was very helpful with us. Would definitely go back :)

A pleasant and relaxing short break.

Great location, the lodge was clean, the hot tub was wonderful.

We couldn't see any staff in the area to help of needed. However, considering we're living in Covid times, we understood. Our TV didn't have any signal sadly and we did try all sorts of methods to get some channels but that didn't work. It didn't ruin the trip though.

Amazing break just what we needed surrounded by nature , quite with jacuzzi and massive improvement. I went 4 years ago this time I can see so much GOOD change definitely place to go 😁
