Amazing property with spectacular views over the Irish Sea to the Mull of Kintyre and Ailsa Craig. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Portree. The house is quirky and full of character with excellent facilities including superfast broadband (c450mbps), excellent kitchen appliances, outdoor seating, and very comfortable beds. The hosts are really great and super helpful. For those that enjoy wildlife and nature, there was plenty of opportunities to watch the resident beach-dwellers of Oystercatcher, Whimbrel, Mallard, etc and enjoy frequent visits from Grey Seal, Sanderlings, Dunlin, Gannet, Eider and Great Northern Diver to name a few.A treat of a place to stay, we hope to book for next year!

The location and home are really impressive, and the layout is perfect for large families or a group of friends vacationing together. There were some snags, however, related possibly to a big storm that had just rolled through: loud beeping from an electric car charger that we needed to troubleshoot upon arrival, a lot of trash and even tires that had washed up on the beach, a continual stream of dead bugs in the house despite daily vacuuming (little shrimp-like bugs that unfortunately made their way into beds), and a full night without power or internet due to tripped fuses. Although the property's online home manual was initially impressive, it couldn't be accessed in a power outage, and was not complete enough to tell us where to find the second fuse box. Additionally, the only way to contact the property manager was through WhatsApp, an app none of us used previously, so we resorted to emailing through VRBO, which led to delays in response time. Finally, the online home manual listed the home features, but not necessarily how to use them. We were unable to determine whether there was a vent/flue for the BBQ hut, and when we lit it, the room filled with so much smoke it was unusable. Questions to the property manager about this were met with "you just light the wood." That was not helpful and left a bad taste despite an otherwise really superbly beautiful location and home. Paper instructions for the home's features and a phone number would've resolved all this.

Perfect property and location. It has everything we could ever want or need. Multiple stays now and will continue to stay each year. A wee piece of paradise

This is by far the best holiday home we have ever rented and we would be happy to come back time after time. The quality of furniture and kitchen and bathroom fittings are excellent, and we spent many a happy night in the games room playing pool!! A special shout out to Dan who valiantly attempted to resolve a problem with EV charger but unfortunately it couldn’t be fixed during our stay. As you can guess from what I’ve already said we would happily recommend Portree to anyone looking to stay at a fantastic house in a beautiful setting overlooking the Irish Sea.
