Great location but expensive for what it offers

Great location in the centre of town

We parked in a car park around the corner for £15 for 24 hours. The building is a little run down with lots over noise from other rooms. The fridge in our room sounded like an aeroplane taking off in the night. I should have expected this because one of the things i noticed when we arrived were ear plugs !!!

Disappointed with the level of noise and the discomfort of the beds.

The room was nicer this time and there was a smart TV.

Lots of little bits broken like the bathroom door handle plating, the shower button was stuck etc. the walls are incredibly thin so could hear everything from the room next to me. The lock to my room didn’t work and I had to wait 20+ minutes to get into my room. The double bed was just two singles pushed together and the one on the left was taller so it was uncomfortable.

Centrally located

Toilet had not been cleaned. There was poo in the toilet when we arrived. There is no sound proofing, neither from the street noise nor from the corridor and rooms on the same floor as us. The shower could do with modernisation. Fittings are falling off door handles around the flat. The bed was soft and uncomfortable, pillows not good. There was an intermittent buzzing noise that came on at all hours. Probably the fridge. The toiletries provided were barely enough for one person and one shower. The apartment is very small.

Acceptable apartment in a very convenient location with too many maintenance problems not addressed.

The location was great for the centre of Cheltenham such as the High Street and the event I was attending at the Town Hall. Being able to come and go at any time was a great bonus. The cooking facilities were adequate for my short stay as I had evening meals with friends. It was worth paying more for this apartment, compared to other Airbnb rooms - even for one person. I was on my own in the room. The size of the apartment was not big enough for two friends sharing. Bathroom was spacious, well-fitted and clean. The fridge was big enough for a few days stay. There was enough cutlery, crockey and cooking utensils to prepare simple meals for two people. The water was hot and well -pressurised. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The wardrobe was a useful size for clothes for several days but it helped that I took some extra hangers.

The door key app was unreliable, however the remote support to get me access to the apartment was very responsive and helpful. A key fob inside the apartment worked in place of the mobile app. The carpeting in the communal areas was dirty. The instructions to operate the electric hob were inadequate. The fixing of the blind above the window had been "fixed" several times with rawl-plugs, but not properly and the blind was on the point of falling off the wall. The lift did not work - which was a real pain lugging a heavy bag up and down two flights of stairs. If I had mobility issues I would not have been able to access the apartment. The room safe was not working.

A superb night's sleep just moments from the centre

Excellent central location, easy parking a 2 minute walk away. Very comfortable bed and we enjoyed two extremely quiet and restful nights sleep. Clean and well appointed for all of our needs for a weekend away. Thoughtful inclusion of toileties and kitchen essentials as well as tea and coffee making items were very welcome.

I was a little stressed initially as you needed to download an app onto your phone in order to get in but fortunately worked it out. Would have preferred to simply have a lockbox with code in advance in case phone/internet issues on arrival. Was a little cold too.

Really nice, just sorting out the keys is a pain

It was incredibly clean with a lovely layout and design. A working TV with a customisable angle control and HDMI cable. Staff were friendly but didn't bother me the whole time I was there which is exactly what I wanted. The place had a great fridge, plenty more than expected utensils, and equipment for cooking. Very quiet.

On my first day, upon entering the great looking double bed apartment, I noticed the shower had pink around the edges as well as on the showerhead where it hadn't been cleaned, not a big deal, but if they could provide a small portion of bleach for the room that would have been great. Otherwise very clean and well maintained. The labels on the floors compared to the studio names are very confusing at first which made it difficult to find your room. Also the keys upon entering. Once you get a physical key card in the studio, it's fine, prior to getting it. A horror show. Took me about 5 minutes to find the room, then it took me another 20 for the key app they use to open the door. I was lucky I think, I met a guy who looked defeated by the time I ran into him. This isn't a big deal just like the rest, it was more that you get a sense of dread that you had fallen for some fake ad or something and this was all a scam. Then the door opens to a lovely quiet apartment and you suddenly don't care anymore.

Location fine, apartment sufficient but outside noise made us waking up tired in the morning.

The room was good. Clean and had everything we needed. Some kitchen utensils were a bit run down but it didn’t matter for us. Bed quite comfy though.

Environmental outside noise was really bad. We arrived tired on Friday night. A band was playing in a club really loud until 10:30. After the drunk crowd was partying way after midnight. So much rubbish on the streets so the seagulls were shouting. As we hoped this was over around 2am, some loud chilling compressor started. Saturday pretty much the same without the band playing. Monday and Tuesday morning the rubbish collectors came bright and early to empty bottles outside the window at 4:30. Even though closed windows helped to reduce the noise this was endless sleep disturbances. Lift was out of order and the hallway to the room was a bit rundown with cleaning trolleys and spare shower frame was there the whole time.

Very disappointing. As an elderly, fit couple it spoilt our stay and cost us more for daily meals.

There was very little to like about this apartment.

The apartment did not have a table or breakfast bar or chairs. We notified the agent on arrival about 4pm on Thursday 3rd July . We also informed him that the lift was out of order. We had booked in for 4 night. We were on the 5th floor. There was no immediate response. I texted another 3 or 4 times only to be eventually informed on Saturday 5th July by the agent that he was unaware that this apartment did not have a table. What is the purpose in making bookings and taking payment for am apartment with an oven, hob, microwave, toaster , kettle and kitchen sink, if there is no table or chairs - despite them being listed on the room inventory. All of the above - and having to navigate 5 fights of stairs. So there was very little to like.

Not enough coffee and tea! Only two coffee sachets for a two night stay for two people! Cutlery was tatty and not particularly clean and pasta was on the floor from previous stay? Cracked plate, needs updating. Had to chase up entrance instructions which had not been received prior to arrival. Not easy to navigate unless you are tech savvy

The property served our purposes.

The property was affordable and conveniently located as a base to explore the Cotswalds. The fob-key worked well.

The floor was dirty and there was no oven tray. The safe did not work.

Location was good. Comms were quick.

Half of the double bed was unusable. The company couldn’t replace it so we left after the first night. The fridge was not fitted properly so the whole unit tipped out when you opened the door. The shower flow was minimal. There were very few items in the cupboards. The key system was cumbersome and the extra fob provided in the room didn’t work.

Disappointing and not to the standard we expect from a Booking.com property

It was incredibly shabby. If it was in good condition it would have been great as the location was good apart from the noise from the neighbouring nightclub was bad and partygoers below our window at 6 30am on a Sunday morning were noisy.

Overall condition of the property was terrible. Massive stains on carpets in common areas. Badly chipped front door and dirty entrance. In no our apartment the washer had mold on the seal and in the powder compartment. The smell after the toilet was flushed was bad. The sink tap was barely connected. The seal around the shower was badly stained. Old radiator was patched up with cement. It was just incredibly shabby.

We have had a lovely stay in Cheltenham

The kitchen taps are very wobbly, they need attention. Under the sink drainage system was extremely smelly. The furniture needs attention as it is very wobbly. Could do with a shelf in the bathroom for toothbrushes/toothpaste and accessories The radiator would not turn off and was running on a very high heat, making it quite unbearable :(
