Clean, bright room, incredible family hotel, a wonderful retreat in an idyllic setting, love it!

We randomly found this property on Booking.com while looking for places to stay outside Bolzano but convenient to sites. We didn't know anything about the location or the area but the property got great reviews and we took a chance. We, like the others that came before us, loved this wonderful hotel and wish we could have stayed for longer! A delightful, clean, modern room in a classic lovely chalet-like hotel. Best breakfast on a trip full of incredible breakfasts. You could tell this was a family business, and charm, caring and love filled the space. When we drove to the place it seemed out of the way, but that was just us not knowing anything about the area. We had a rental car and explored, but wish we didn't because there was so much accessible through the hotel itself - they provided a pass with free access to a local train, gondolas, and some local sights. 15 minutes via train and tram to Bolzano. The restaurant had incredible food. Don't miss the Honey Museum, the Piramidi Terra, and gondola up to Ritterhorn. The staff were truly wonderful - helpful, kind, and thoughtful.

My canned disclaimer: Experience is all about expectations. We actually didn't know what to expect here, but to be prepared: This is not the Ritz, there is a nice view over the town and we had a lovely balcony, but mountains were in the distance. You are not in the middle of a range like in Cortina. The room is not huge but is perfect, clean and bright. The facilities were absolutely wonderful, the scenery all around is stunning, there are many charming villages linked by the train that we wish we could have explored, there are sites and hiking and scenery and shops and great food, and an incredible staff. No negatives.

Fantastic stay

Very friendly staff, the room, balcony and the location were superb. Effort was taken to speak to me in English although I was expecting to speak in German.

driving up to the hotel was the most beautiful drive I’ve ever done. it’s incredibly beautiful and the staff are awesome. I got there late when the kitchen was closed, and they still cooked me something to eat because I was hungry. they are amazing here

Very handy location next to the Rittenbahn tram stop so no car needed. All modern and clean with extensive breakfast spread and friendly staff. All day cafe and restaurant on premises. Be careful not to eat too much and opt for half board to save money.

Staff were very accommodating helping us plan our journey. Food was excellent. There was lots to do and see, but we only had a day.

The drive up to the property was a little challenging, but views and countryside were worth it.

A Wonderful location only 200 metres from the stop Wolfsgruben on the Rittnerbahn. Very nice room and clear sheets every day. An extra bonus is the Rittnerpas which give you free rides on all local transportation! And at last - a very fair price.

A perfect decision to stay here...

Everything. The family-run hotel is very new and very clean. The room was very spacious and well designed with a nice balcony and a clean toilet. The location was quiet good. It was easy to reach by car and find a parking. Also it is reachable by public transport: from bolzano to soprabolzano by cable car and then by a small train which has a stoppage close to the hotel (actually it's only few steps away from the hotel; the google map may show a different way from the hotel to the station). This hotel is one of the hotels in the renon/ritten area which provides the ritten card - free day pass to use any public transport and museums. The breakfast was quiet good. We had dinner in their restaurant; they served very tasty south tyrol cuisine specially the dumplings and also free homemade cheese as a compensation of the delay in serving. The staffs were very friendly and could speak italian/german/english.

Nothing really... If anyone prefers a breathtaking view of the mountains from the hotel/balcony, then it may not fulfill his/her expectation.

Das Hotel liegt oberhalb von Bozen in sehr schönen Lage. Ich wurde ao. freundlich empfangen. In der gemütlichen Wirtsstube habe ich sehr ordentlich zu Abend gegessen. - Während des Essens wurde ich nochmals von dem Seniorchef des Hauses begrüßt. - Es werden sehr ordentliche 'Longdrinks' angeboten, ich konnte einen als Nachtisch geniesen. - Auch das Frühstück war toll, hervorzuheben wäre hier das ao. vielfältige Angebot an Obst. - Das mir 'zugeteilte' Zimmer hatte ein tolles Badezimmer, desweitern war es mit einem geflegtenLaminatboden ausgestattet und nicht mit einem von mir immer als etwas 'zweifelhaft' empfundenen Teppichboden. - Mein Motorrad durfte ich in eine offene Garage hinter dem Hotel stellen. - Insgesamt fand ich das gesamte Team als oa. freundlich.

Da fällt mir wirklich 'nix' ein!

Sauberes Hotel, praktisch für Wanderer

Frühstück war durchschnittlich. Die Lage des Hotels in Oberbozen ist natürlich toll, wenn man wandern geht. Ansonsten war es für uns nicht so günstig, da wir auf der Durchreise waren und man nach Oberbozen ein längeres Stück fahren muss. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und die Besitzer bzw. das Personal sehr freundlich.

Die Einrichtung des Hotel ist etwas altbacken, aber das ist Geschmackssache. Die Lage passt vor allem für Langzeiturlauber, die wandern gehen wollen. Für Durchreisende, die sich gerne Bozen ansehen wollen ist es nicht so geeignet, da man ein gutes Stück den Ritten (Bozener Hausberg) hoch fahren muss.
