Very well handled conference stay with happy efficient staff

The conference facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. The pool was clean and warm with a nice early start for a swim before breakfast.

The room was on the small side with creaky floors. No plug sockets by the bed. The bathroom was modern and very clean but it has a sensor light which feels like a supernova when you need a loo visit in the night.

Noisy, difficult to manoeuvre through the maize of corridors to our room, very poor signage. bathroom fan and lights stay on with an overactive sensor, lift to the second floor out of order. Beds hard and tired, no USB power point upgrade, little to no internet

We had paid for an upgrade and the shower and bath water was cold. We mentioned this when we checked out and all the answer i got was i will tell the maintenance. I told them that it didnt help us after having a cold shower.

Furnishings tired, bathroom floor and shower slippery, heating not working properly.

The dinner and breakfast we good quality and well cooked. There was a good choice of fresh fruit at breakfast.

The room was far too hot and it took two visits to reception to have the heating turned off completely. The bathroom floor was far too slippery - we needed to put wet towels down on the towels to feel safe.

Disappointing, won’t return.

For the money we expected more. The hotel is a little tired. Neither of us could have a shower, one freezing cold and the other room shower was scorching with no control. Spoke to reception who apologised but weren’t really interested.

A comfortable hotel with a lot of history.

Comfortable bedroom and good bistro. The latter was in strong demand, so booking is essential.

Hotel is beginning to show its age and parts of it look "dated". On arrival asked if it was possible to have afternoon tea but was told it had to be pre-booked which was a surprise for a hotel of this size. Was offered tea and biscuits in the bar instead.

Beautiful hotel and area. Amazing staff, spar and bar! The food looks great but we didn’t get chance to try.

The staff are super friendly! Especially the night porter Darren, He went above and beyond to cater for us. He was very attentive and helpful, service with a smile! The spa is relaxing and quite perfect for what we wanted! The bar is great and is open for guests staying there all night which is a great add on! The only downside is they charge for room service which at the price should be a given. The area and hotel are beautiful. We will stay again sometime as we love the spa facilities and area.

Unfortunately the room we paid for was a double and it was two single beds pushed together. The room we had was by a door in the hallway and it kept us awake all night, people in and out, the door slams and also the room doors do too. In amongst that we could hear the people next to us and above us. Coughing, talking etc but getting in and out of their bed is makes a massive squeaky noise and it’s very loud to anyone staying in the room we was in. The decor is very outdated and peeling and the paint work needs touching up. The toilet seat in the bathroom was broken and there was other little things around that we had noticed. The heating was on in the room when we arrived and it was so hot! So we tried us the thermostat to turn it off and it doesn’t work, so we asked a member of staff who overwrote it to get it to turn off but she also gave us a fan which was a life saver!! The elevators need looking at also as a disabled person I have to use the elevator and the lights flicker and it bounces (I didn’t feel safe in it) the other one I didn’t want to go in as I guess it’s a staff elevator but it had no lights that I could see and is extremely small, I didn’t even attempt that as I’m scared of small spaces but that’s not the issue it was more to do with the other one that needs attention to feel safe.

The gym and spa are very good. The breakfast was pretty good too. The reception, bar and spa staff were very helpful and friendly.

A very expensive one night stay for a room which fell short of expectations.

Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice of continental and cooked.

Furnishings tired, watermarks on the walls, bathroom had a brown patch on the ceiling and it wasn’t particularly clean. For £140 for the one nights stay I expected a higher standard of room.

The TV was very variable in that it kept shutting itself down. This happened on a number of occasions. Reception was good for mobile phone. The hotel phone for use in room had a broken connection and could not be used.

The refreshments in the room were very stingy - 2 sachets of coffee, 2 teabags and 4 small sachets of milk & 2 biscuits. Restaurant didn't open until 6-30/7.oo pm - not everyone wants to wait until this time for evening meal. Also the choice of food was limited and only 3 course meal available, no a-la-carte. Not what I would expect of a 4 star Hotel. Breakfast was ok on choice but lukewarm at best. The whole place was very dated and past it's best and in need of refurbishment, particularly the bedrooms to bring it up to modern 4 star standards.

It was local to where I wanted to be. Plenty of parking Easy access into the hotel Nice welcome from Elodie the receptionist on my arrival, and very efficient checking in and out.

The floorboards in my room were creaky The shower couldn’t be adjusted and so my shower was hot.
