Lack of sleep, but an excellent breakfast

Location in town was handy. Competitively priced. Excellent Breakfast.

Rooms above restaurant / bar area without any well sealed fire doors, at the time of our visit there was a party in the restaurant / bar and the noise was insane until gone midnight, after which time the noise transferred out to the street into the early hours....

nice, clean friendly hotel, a few tweeks would make it a lot better.

the staff were friendly and helpful, the brakfast was good and cooked fresh on our arrival, a good choice of cereals, and bread for toast making, coffee machine for our choice of coffee. the room was claen and serviced everyday.

The room was very cold on arrival and took a long time to heat, there was no heating in the bathroom or towel rail. there was no spare toilet roll and the one in the room was only half full, I think probably an oversite, like no tespoons on the tea tray. Toilet rolls were left next morning, but still no teaspoons. No emergemcy nunber on the information in the room either for nights.

Can’t go wrong for the price, but needs some improvement

We had the housekeeper or one of the cleaners knocking on our door at 9:55am this morning and saying we need to leave, bearing in mind the check out time is 11am, luckily we were awake but we would’ve been very frustrated if sleeping. Also, we were given only less than a 1/4 of a roll of toilet roll between the two of us for a 1 night stay, I understand we could’ve asked for more but we feel a full toilet paper should be in all the rooms, regardless of how long the stay is. Also bear in mind that there are no soap in the rooms, you can get soap if you ask in reception, but I feel there should be atleast a handwash in the bathroom.

The hotel was centrally located and good value. The room was clean and the breakfast well cooked.

On my arrival, there was some disagreement as to whether breakfast was included in my booking, which a phone call resolved in my favour. Also the restaurant was closed (as it was Sunday) despite the information already given that it was open Wednesday to Sunday and I had had an email asking if wanted to eat on arrival. The person booking me in wasn't very friendly. The fire alarm went off unexpectedly and apparently it was a test, but I hadn't been informed.

Basic, however the food is amazing!

The location was good, the food in the restaurant was brilliant, my husband said the Cumberland sausage was the best he’s ever had which is a huge compliment from him! The staff were lovely and the room was warm.

The beds are too soft for me but that’s my personal preference we were in room 28 and the only problem we had was the toilet flush was incredibly loud which ran for at least 40 seconds.

Not up to our usual standard

We used to love this quaint little hotel and it’s our 4th visit.

This time we had no shower - it didn’t work. So so so frustrating. Also, I was given raw chicken to eat and I had to return it to the kitchen. Had a bad stomach all day. The staff did refund my money for my meal and did give me a free dessert but I think it’s unacceptable to serve raw chicken. I was also charged £10 per dog stay and online it says £5 per dog. Hardly any toilet paper. No soap at all. Sadly we returned to this hotel because we loved our previous stays. We will not be returning.

Joke! Dirty horrible place say away!

Nothing, Now seeking refund. The hotel room was dirty and staff are rude and could not care less. In the room 30mins and that was too long and the smell when opening the shower door was the last straw. Parking is an absolute joke!

Not worth the money

The lady at the desk was pleasent

Bed was awful, window sill was rotten so window didn't close, kettle damaged, no heating, not clean, could feel every spring in the bed, single room didn't even have a chair and table kettle was placed on window sill, tv wedged between to wardrobe and roof, toilet seat wasn't tight, manky bathroom light that didn't work. Photos online dont do its justice makes the place look amazing

It wasn't clean. Carpets were filthy. Room was small and cramped. Questionable if it was clean bedding. There was a dog show taking place and it was full of dogs, didn't smell great.

Lovely Central Hotel.

It was very nice, all included with Breakfast, comfortable room, a nice pub downstairs. Short walk to different places. Train station, fish and chips. Other restaurants. Very nice stay.

Smallest hotel room I have ever seen

The bed was comfortable and the restaurant next door very good.

The room was claustrophobically tiny. So small there was no room for a bedside table, which was irritating. The TV was so high up it was 2’’ from the ceiling, making watching TV uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the bedroom. It was also a very noisy stay as the room was right over the front door on the main road where everyone stood and smoked. The car park holds 6-7 cars only and I had to park in the next street.

The bed was uncomfortable, the shower had no water at 8.30am due to everybody showering at the same time. Had to wash in basin with hot water. No cold water in bathroom to clean my teeth. In the restaurant there was no hot water to make tea/coffee (machine was not working) Not even a kettle as an alternative.
