Cosy room nice pub in a town
It’s in a good position in town and the room was cosy
The bathroom light keeps going out unless you stand under it so shower and toilet are to right and left of it so your plunged into darkness when using either until you wave your hand under it and it comes back on

Passable as a budget
Location great.
Fire int he bar was condemned so no heating and it was freezing. No temporary heating was in there. The food was passable, but the waitress who delivered it didn't have the best attitude. The room was ok but the bathroom was dirty and there was no wash products it he room, towels were hard. Only standard TV no Freeview. Looked like some improvements were being done. It was just tired, grubby and cold.

Suits us just fine
This is a delightful very old Inn which is in the long process of being restored and guests should note that. the Staff are great. it is clearly a very popular hostelry with the locals. The food is excellent pub food and plenty of it. breakfast is the big Welsh/English . Rooms are very clean and comfortable with en suite facilities. It is a great place to bring your dog. we stay very regularly as a mid Wales stopover to N Wales.. ticks all the boxes and great value
Nothing springs to mind

Basic but fine.
Single room -it was basic but fine for one night. A comfy bed and pretty quiet despite a band playing downstairs for halloween. Thick curtains. Great location in town.
Sloping floor by bathroom! Fine for 1 night at the price.

An unreconstructed old pub with all the inconveniences of such a place.
A typical old pub. Reasonable bar food.
Long, winding corridors. Very low door to room. Low ceiling in room. Breakfast just adequate. Poor shower over bath.

Interesting. Good value.
Interesting place. Busy local pub.
The old parts are not true or square. Sometimes that is awkward. Our bathroom floor was so far out it felt strange standing up in there. The breakfast room was cold.

Perfect location to where I was going the next day. I liked the pub garden area too, perfect for my dog
It was a lovely old fashioned pub and the staff were lovely, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
I have downed the facilities as the floor in the dining room is uneven with gaffa tape put in place to hold it down. There was no hazard sign to make u aware of the trip hazard.
My bedroom was up some very old narrow stairs. I have biggish feet so found it awkward to be safe going up or down.
My other criticism about my stay was that my bedroom lock )I was in room 12) doesn’t shut/ lock very well with gaps around the door.
The location is fab and it’s adjacent to a Tesco’s big store just in case you forgot anything.
I did have a late dinner which was nice.
The staff were very friendly and would do anything to help you.
My bedroom door didn’t shut / lock very well.
The tv in the bedroom isn’t a direct signal so u have to mess about getting a signal.
I didn’t like the damaged floor in the dining room, there was no warning sign.
The stairs up to my room were very narrow but I appreciate this is an old building.

Good value for money and ideal f;or my purpose.
Room was of a good size, clean and warm. Bed was very comfortable. Only downside was being in the attic, the bathroom had a sloping roof, which I kept forgetting about, so banged my head a couple of times while in there. Food was good and staff were friendly and courteous.
Hotel was very busy and staff were a bit swamped.

Spacious and pretty room in a very old Inn. Couldn’t be closer to the trsin station, while feeling it is in the countr
Good value. Near to train station. Set amongst a large treed property down a lane, directly across from train station. Huge windows. Spacious bathroom. Nice fabric choices and wallpaper. Radiators one can control. Windows that open. Noisy chatty jackdaws for local character. Ancient roses climbing up the wall.
It’s an Inn with a pub, so as expected pub patrons leaving in groups, talk too loud outside the door beneath open windows - so close windows and wear ear plugs if you go to bed early. I’m not complaining because pub noise is to be expected and the positives outweighed this for me.

Friendly team but shambolic organisation - no hot water so had a cold shower.
Friendly staff and building is full of character.
Shambolic organisation. They had run out of gas so no food, no hot water. They were not up front about the hot water. Even when they had gas delivered the next morning they did not make an effort to get the hot water switched back on, so we had to have cold showers.

Good value and well located.
Location was ideal for our trip. Staff were great, very friendly despite being really busy and made us a food prioritybas we were guests and had reserved an untimed table for dinner. Breakfast was great and well organised with a lovely welcoming lady to look after us.
Car park was a little steep and loose grit over tarmac which isn't ideal for a large, heavy motorcycle. The room was a little near the rather rowdy outside drinking and smoking area which wasn't ideal given we had a long day prior and post our stay

Good value stay.
Good room with updated bathroom. Burger in the bar was delicious. Good parking.
Not really a negative but this is a locals bar so can be noisy. This didn’t affect us at all.

Value for money hotel with great food
For what we paid we can’t complain at all, clean and comfortable room with plenty of space. We ate in the pub the evening of our stay and the food was superb.
There is a play park and a safe grassy area for the kids to burn off steam at the front.
Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great but probably not the pubs fault as we have the same at home.

A real gem!
A lovely, lively place. All the staff and the other customers were really friendly. I stayed with my little boy who loved the play area and outside space and found plenty of other children to make friends with. The whole place is also dog friendly which made travelling with our Labrador so much easier. If you're looking for a proper pub with real pub food and a great atmosphere, with clean, simple and well-appointed rooms, then this is the place for you!

A wonderful example of a community inn/pub
It was great having a pub with good food and drinks. The people were very nice. The inn is a good balance between modern facilities/expectations and keeping the character of an old building.
Another small shelf in the bathroom would be nice.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY AND VERY REASONABLE PRICE
GREAT STAFF, VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. ROOMS WERE SPOTLESS. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. LOVELY GARDEN AREA. THE STAFF HELPED US WITH EVERYTHING WE ASKED. THERE WAS A FAN IN THE ROOM AND ALSO TOILETRIES, HAIRDRYER AND TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES.
A LOVELY OLD FASHIONED PUB/RESTAURANT. GREAT BREAKFAST.
INVESTING IN PUTTING SHOWER ENCLOSURES IN INSTEAD OF A BATH.

Disappointing stay in a beautiful location
The inn is situated in a lovely large garden area that was secluded and well kept and the building was a beautiful old stone structure.
The facilities were good, and pet friendly BUT there was quite a large fee per dog, per night, that was not made apparent to us until we checked in. The exact amount had not been mentioned in any of the booking confirmations or correspondence with the establishment before we arrived, it was dropped on us at the front desk. We had picked this place over multiple others due to the affordable price so were not too thrilled when we had to pay such a large additional fee. We were prepared for a small pet fee and happy to pay it, as we travel with our dogs often and it is normal practice in most places, but usually not more than £10 or £15 for both dogs for one night. This fee was a fair amount larger. The cleanliness of the room was disappointing considering the large payment we made for both dogs for the "additional cleaning" after having dogs stay there. Some of the light fixtures did not work because they needed new bulbs or did not have bulbs in them at all. There were cobwebs and dust built up in the air vents and extractor fan in the bathroom, that also did not turn on. The shower needed to run for a good 20-25 minutes before it was warm enough and it did not stay the same temperature throughout use, despite not touching the temperature controls after the initial adjustment.
