Location was ideal

The room wasn’t clean. There were hairs in the bathroom and the bed. The staff were ok but not great. I wanted to check out but they were all outside smoking under the canopy.

Hidden Price Increases spoiled the stay

The staff were excellent - the lady on reception was a credit to the organisation and the chef made a very tasty meal.

Since the new owners have taken over they have introduced hidden price increases 1. Car parking charge - not clear on the website and just sharp practice to charge for that when it should be included in the room rate. 2. The booking price on Booking.com was not not that which was charged - £5 per night different 3. The Tesla chargers are some of the most expensive per KW in the UK - when they used to be very reasonable

Budget stay in a budget hotel good value for the cost.

Very comfortable bed, room very quiet, check in staff pleasant , professional and helpful.

No heating working in room. Did not feel safe in shower over bath. Surroundings tired.

Payed for three days left after two says it all need to redo advert as nothing like it on arrival

Location was good .I saw your advertisement on line and very disappointed nothing like it on arrival booked for 3 nights and paid on arrival. Left after 2 nights felt couldn't stay there any longer

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced clean basic room and don’t have any mobility issues then maybe this would suit

Reasonably quiet and easily accessible from major roads

Showers were very difficult to use due to there only being a very small footage area. There was a step in the bath which takes away a huge amount of standing space especially when the room was classed as an accessible one. None of the accessible rooms had a walk in shower. The new hotel owners, (formerly campanile) have taken away the buffet breakfast (although continental still buffet style) which was one of the best things about this hotel. I would suggest this should be mentioned when people are reading up on reviews as formerly it was a full buffet breakfast

Good base for anyone who is visiting Durham / Beamish

Very good value ( seems worthy of a 3 star rating in my opinion). Staff were friendly & helpful.

I'm nit picking. Only 2 milks for the drinks tray despite more tea / coffee sachets. 4 as a minimum please to make drinks on arrival & pre-breakfast. Would have preferred a choice of how the eggs were served at breakfast instead of fried only.

We won't be staying there again.

No heating in the bathroom. Bathroom drab patches on the wall crack in the sink.. No phone in the room so couldn't complain about a regular thumping mechanical noise that went on for 30 minutes between 10.30 and 11 p.m. when we were trying to sleep This happened on 2 nights even after we queried it to the cleaner and the receptionist. Your website needs up dating to tell clients that the hotel name has changed.

most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on! 2 singles pushed together so you can feel the ridge down the middle of the bed. also very uncomfortable spring mattress. I only got 3 hours sleep! years of grime built up on bathroom tiles!

Satisfactory standard Lodge for an overnight stop neat the motorway.

Location excellent and convenient for motorway access. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were on the small size but adequate for a motorway lodge style hotel. The internal door between the room and the corridor are a really good addition to lower noise levels. Parking was sufficient and with good cctv coverage for security. Vending machine in lobby area is a good idea as food & beverage service is limited. Breakfast was of a satisfactory standard with good service.

Rooms generally in need a refurb. looking tired. Need new mattresses on the beds. The towels provided were too small. No plug sockets near the bed and only two wall sockets which were positioned awkwardly.

It was a lovely hotel and I’d stop again

When me and my family first pulled up to hotel their where work men sat behind their work van and one of them had a wee then that same nigh I was on my own and one of work men came over he asked me if i knew where a shop was then he tried to have a conversation with me at the time I was scared because he wasn’t English n i dont think he had a room at the hotel. I think they need more security at the place. The same man came up to me again which I had to finish my cig quickly n quickly opened the door I was scared incase he followed me

Breakfast was fine. The shower was very good EXCEPT for the fact you had to climb into a slippy high sided bath with no bars or handles to support you. I'm a reasonably fit 75 year old but showering really worried me.
