Wonderful hospitality from this family run business.
We would definitely stay here again and get a balcony room overlooking the Rhine river.

Our stay at Baudobriga Rheinhotel was outstanding! The location was beautiful and convenient. It was nice to have a room big enough to accommodate my family of 4 (2 adult sized teenagers)! We spent four nights at the hotel exploring the Rhine and Mosel area. The VMR train pass was a very nice benefit that we took advantage of. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast each morning was a delight! My entire family looked forward to it every morning. On the day of our departure, we had to leave prior to the breakfast time. I informed the front desk that we would be leaving the next morning before breakfast. About 15 minutes before we had to depart, there was a knock at our door and staff advised us the breakfast was ready a bit early if we had time to eat or wanted to take something to go. It’s that type of service that makes a place stand out! I have no doubt that if we end up in the area again, we will stay at this hotel without even looking anywhere else! Thank you to the staff for making our stay five stars! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely friendly family run hotel kept traditional and tasteful. Very handy and appreciated early check in after a wet ride on our motorbike tour.

We stayed two nights in a unit with a river view. So nice to get out to the balcony for a look at the Rhine and boats. It was quiet at night, to our surprise. The room was clean with a spacious bathroom and shower. Hot breakfast had many selections and varied slightly by day. Staff were friendly and informative in helping us plan for day trips. The best feature was still the guest passes that covered almost all regional transportation and numerous local sites.

We had a very comfortable family room. There were only 3 of us, but it easily could have handled 2 adults, 2 children and an infant. The only thing we did not have was a river view, but we knew that in advance. Everything was spotless. Breakfast was delicious and served in the front of the hotel with a beautiful river view.
Unfortunately there was sewer construction right in front of the hotel. It won't last forever, everyone just carried on like it wasn't happening.

We have never returned to the same town twice when we go to Europe; however, we loved this hotel so much that we returned 10 years later. The views form the balcony are spectacular! The breakfast was wonderful! Everyone affiliated with this hotel is warm and caring. You can tell that they truly enjoy their calling to the hospitality industry. We also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner.

The hotel had a kind of old-fashioned atmosphere -partly because of the interior, partly due to elderly clientele. We stayed in an economy room which was very basic but still quite ok. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was really delightful - great start for the day!
The shower corner was very narrow.

Balcony was not facing towards Rhein. You had to use cash in the restaurant.

The location is great, right on the Rihne river bank. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, we appreciated it was continental. The wine tasting was a nice experience, wines are very good and at very afordable prices. Staff was very friendly.

One word - Wunderbar! The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinners were delicious and be sure to try their wine. We spent six nights here and used it as our base. We did day trips to Bacharach, St. Goar, Cochem, Burg Eltz, Cologne, and Marksburg. The “Gastekarte” made it easy to travel on the trains and gave us a discount on the Rhine River cruise.

The location makes the hotel. It's right on the Rhine and close to everything (including boat tours). The train stop is walking distance unless you are traveling with heavy baggage. The hotel itself is what a person might expect of a family-run German hotel. It's quaint and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but a bit dated. The staff was very polite and we felt welcome. The breakfasts were excellent as was the WiFi. And we were able to pay for the room (but not the meals) with a credit card. I would stay here again and would recommend unreservedly.
The wasps were numerous and very aggressive (not only at this hotel, but throughout the town). They made having meals outside hazardous if not impossible (I got stung by one, no bueno). Specific to this hotel, I would have liked to have used my credit card for the meals too, but alas, this is Germany. Many of the nearby restaurants also did not take credit cards either, so be sure to carry cash. All in, nothing much to complain about.

The receptionist her name is Elizabeth was not cooperative, I booked 5 nights and wanted to change it to 4, but she refused in the beginning and told me the minimum stay in the hotel is 5 nights which I discovered not true, at last she changed it to 4 nights. At the time of check out she charged me 5 nights then after an argument I paid for 4 nights. I did not fell safe to trust the financial transaction. She was rude with me during my whole stay. When she speak to me she would act like a teacher talking to a student or like a school master.

Ideal location, our room had a balcony overlooking the Rhine. Easy to get to sights and attractions. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and the visitor cards came in very useful.
Nothing really, the lift could do with updating.

Location
Access steps, bordering on dangerous. Reason for not showing a photo of front of hotel in advertising?
Asked at reception re frequency of bed linen change after 8 nights, was told once per week. I was asked if we required it more frequently, no but it hasn’t been changed yet! Within minutes the bedding was changed.
One change in 13 nights not good enough. (Weather was hot 27 to 34 degrees). First couple of nights beds were made, change of staff, bathroom cleaned towels changed bedroom ignored. I suspect a staff issue.
Pros
Very good breakfast buffet
Excellent breakfast staff
Excellent management staff
Room and balcony with river view (a
must).
Location 1st class
Free travel pass on rail and bus (estimate we saved over £200)
Neg
Access steps
No fridge in room
Only German speaking channels on tv
All things considered I feel it a bit expensive at over £1500 for 13 nights b&b.
Add on ferry and fuel approx £500 and average evening meal for 2 around £35 x 13 = £455
All adds up to quite an expensive
13 night holiday plus spends i.e river trips.
