The website photos are not a true reflection of the hotel now Run down ,damp ,grubby ,smelt of damp in room from leak Plastic pot catching rain was had brown water on attracting small flies

Lovely spot and nice old coaching inn

The owners and staff were very attentive and welcoming and friendly. The cooked breakfast was very good especially the smoked maceral Pity there were no gluten free cerial available but there was gluten free bread. Bed comfy and room clean. Would definitely stay again.

Easy to find location. Plenty of parking. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly. Breakfast was nice.

Building is falling apart. Smells musty. The stairs were very uneven. It was like walking in a funfair fun house. Decor was very outdated and dilapidated. Bathroom was horrendous. No hot water & no water pressure at the sink and not much better for the shower. Carpets were Very dirty & stained. Cobwebs on ceiling light. Constant dripping water sound all night. Used dirty cups on tea tray.

Booked for four nights and left after the first night.

Even though the owner was very generous and refunding part of the payment after one night, I could not stay there as the room was dark, cold and the toilet was dirty and had not been flushed from previous usage

The staff were really friendly

The stairs were like being in a crooked house at a fun fair. Random bucket in middle of floor at top of stairs, looked up and the roof was leaking. Dogs in the eating area. Keys just left for anyone to pick up at the entrance. Windows were unsafe for my 4 year old.

Our room had 2 sockets that were not working, the shower was cold (was in a rush so didn’t have time To report) Not very family friendly with a small child Restaurant was advertised prior to staying but was not open at all so had to go and find somewhere to eat outside of hotel

The hotel bathroom was not clean clean the water in the taps did work. The stairs going up to the rooms are very dangerous this should be stated in when booking this hotel.

Cute and cosy stay

The suite was a generous size with comfortable bed. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

The bathroom was terrible. The toilet was stained. The bath/shower tap did not work. The hot water took 15 minutes to arrive. The floor was not clean. It was a dump, in desperate need of an update

I went there knowing it was a 3* hotel and that's exactly what I got. Good size bedroom, comfortable bed, great breakfast, warm and very friendly staff. When I asked for help with the blind in my room, they immediately sprung to action. Will definitely return.

It was a good location in a nice town. The bedding and towels were clean. They were also helpful with providing a room in which our bikes could be locked.

Surprised that there was no hot water to speak of. Just a dribble of water came out of the taps on the bath/shower or sink and the water that came out was just a few degrees above cold. Showering after cycling all day was chilly and the next morning I had a boil a kettle to get enough hot water to wash my face. There were black marks all around the bath fittings, (mould?) Also large stains on the ceiling and saggy mattresses and very tired furnishings.

Friendly staff, very helpful. Superb breakfast. Quirky hotel; it is very old and has bags of character. Close to restaurants and cafes. Good walks and fishing nearby. Room was comfortable, soft towels, good sized bed. Looking forward to going back.

Really enjoyed our stay.

A very characterful building right in the heart of the town. Good sized carpark at the back. The room was very comfortable, lovely bed, with everything we needed. Robin was very welcoming and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was excellent on both mornings, also a good variety of other options and plenty of drinks available. No evening meal available but A Taste of Raj, a short walk away, was excellent. We stayed during a live concert at the brewery next door and enjoyed the music through the open window, but it stopped promptly at 11, so didn't cause any disturbance. We liked the town and will definitely return.

A few cobwebs, but in a place that old you're never going to get them all!🙂 The outside space looked very unloved, just needed some attention.

The location in the centre of town was convenient. The bed was fairly comfortable.

The Hotel is basically failing and lacks any level of investment. It doesn't serve evening meals and barely opens for drinks in the bar. The whole place is very tired indeed. Keys for the room were left on a desk just inside the door on top of a hand written receipt with your name on it, no welcome reception at all. Shower was tepid, inside a chipped bath with hair in the plug hole (not mine!). Toilet is badly stained. Didn't stay for breakfast so I can't comment.
