Alright for a one night stay.

Breakfast was OK.

Would have liked an ensuite bathroom in our room. We had to share the bathroom with other people. Door to our room did not lock properly.

Lovely pub with accommodation and good menu and food.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation block was right next to the pub but slightly detached so perfect. Plenty of parking. We ate when we got there so that was very convenient and good menu with lots of choice and large portions. Obviously a popular place as busy so nice atmosphere and lovely old fashioned pub with atmosphere. Easy to pick up main roads from there and get round location. Had the breakfast in the morning and that was good.

Poor Value and poor quality

Handy location to Ipswich

I rarely leave poor reviews but this is an exception. The room was dated, with mismatched furniture, the beds super uncomfortable. We looked at the shower and decided to give it a miss. The great reviews of this property really surprised me until I realised that we were being charged £159 for a one night stay when the usual price is half of that. For £159, we were expecting a quality room, with quality toiletries and quality breakfast. But then, it was the weekend that Ed Sheeran was in town, so some blatant profiteering going on. Breakfast was poor by anyone's standards. I asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried and was bluntly told: ' Not on a Sunday'. Fair enough, no eggs for me then but was offered nothing extra instead. Coffee was dumped unceremoniously on the table with a handful of UHT milks. I asked for fresh milk instead - you would have thought I was asking for caviar. Unacceptable for the price we paid.

Very pleasant stay

Lovely pub in beautiful grounds and location. Management and staff very pleasant and helpful, reasonable prices and friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Great parking facilities. Accommodation had everything required and clean, comfortable beds.

The room had a strong smell of dampness, particularly in one corner. The managers were clearly conscious of the problem as the bedside unit in that corner had been pulled forward to allow better air circulation in that area. However with one's head very close to that corner the smell became quite pervasive overnight, despite sleeping with the windows ajar. There were also a few cobwebs in evidence at high level on the wall between the bedroom and bathroom, which was a little disappointing given the overall cleanliness of the room.

A gem of a pub

It's a quaint pub that has good beer and food. The team ( I don't like the word staff) are wonderful, attentive and friendly. Super landlord who was interesting to chat with abd again very helpful. Food choices were great, lots of options, and all locally sourced. Breakfast was super and set you up for the day The beds were comfy, and the showers worked. Proper bathsheets are provided. Super large car park

Perfect location for us. Interesting items within the pub that sparked conversation! Lovely big bedroom and comfy bed. Big fluffy white towels. Helpful, obliging staff.

I would certainly recommend the Sorrell Horse Inn for short breaks.

The bar staff and breakfast crew were excellent and extremely friendly. Food was plentiful and top quality as was the Abbott Ale !! Good atmosphere in the bar.

Creaky floor boards and the bedrooms could do with a facelift.

The rooms were clean and the staff were very nice. Food was prompt and the drinks section was great. Breakfast was nice too.

The rooms were very dated and in need of renovation. There was a damp smell in the bathroom but keeping the door and window open solved that for when I returned.

Friendly place, beautiful part of the world.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We were only there for one night, and the place was busy when we arrived but they went out of their way to give us something to eat quickly before we dashed to the wedding we were going to.

I had forgotten that we had a shared bathroom so my fault! It was very clean and we were able to use it when we needed to so wasn't a problem.

Location was good for purpose of visit. Good breakfast. Ground floor. Bathroom and shower good size. Staff very pleasant.
