One Rainy Night At The Auberge

We were shown to our room! Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, good-sized towels, two spacious rooms, bottled water provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits, fair amount of storage, good quality cooked breakfast and plenty of parking spaces.

One bedside table lamp had no bulb, insufficient milk for hot drinks, shower area looked grubby and limited cold buffet at breakfast (some fruit would have been nice...). We didn't mind that the bathroom was designed for guests with mobility issues, but we would have preferred the hotel to have checked with us first.

It's how a small hotel should be.

It was a refreshing change to stay at a hotel where the staff know exactly what they are doing. Efficient, polite, friendly and attentive, all made for a relaxing stay. There was great attention to detail, which meant you didn't have to keep asking for things. A lot of thought has obviously been given to running this hotel as it runs very smoothly. Excellent dining from an imaginative menu. Dinner and breakfast both superb. Cleanliness throughout. A lovely two night break. We hope to return.

Very pleasant room with decor to suit the period of the building. Clean and comfortable. Despite being near a main road it was remarkably quiet in the room. Great Breakfast. High quality evening meal. Doggy friendly (sausage treats for our little dog at breakfast and evening meal!)

A warm hug with a sublime sleep in a bed you sink into perfect shower for disabled x

Walking into the room was like walking into a warm hug perfect with how cold it was outside and the bed you just sink into it my husband gets a great nights sleep here so do I which for us is unusual as husband has shoulder damage and I have arthritis n fybromyalgia and Addisons long Covid me lovely place

Stop by and take a day or two to leave the hustle of life, and relax in the countryside.

I liked the handy location, en route to Norwich / Ipswich. The warmth and lay out of the restaurant and welcome from the owners. My room was spacious, very clean and there’s a great shower to warm your bones after a long winters day walking or shopping! Also, there are lots of walking opportunities away from the main roads to invigorate and build up an appetite!

Breakfast was a perfect start to a day, good quality food with plenty of choices. The room was warm and comfortable and the whole property was well looked after. The staff were friendly and polite, nothing too much trouble.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay and felt rested and comfortable.

Room size was good. Bathroom was good, warm and spacious. Fridge in room was useful. Breakfast next morning was very good, plenty of choice and well cooked. Curtains were good and heavy and kept unwanted light out

A good base for exploring Suffolk

Location is good for visiting all of Suffolk and was on the main road north. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, pastries, etc plus a choice of cooked breakfast.

The sound proofing did not mask the traffic/road noise. Paintwork in the bedroom was starting to crack and peel in one area. The bathroom sanitary ware needs attention to the cleaning. Some fresh fruit at breakfast would be appreciated.

We had a wonderful room with a very comfortable bed. We booked a table at the restaurant - it was a excellent culinary experience. The plates were lovingly prepared and staff were excellent. The room itself was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We also loved the breakfast and the quality of the locally sourced sausages and bacon were excellent.

Old fashioned, caring establishment deserving of their earned accolades.

Welcomed on arrival, excellent accommodations with everything that is required in place and working well. Warm, clean, comfortable, everything provided in the shower/toilet room. Staff extremely accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Food and wine all outstanding in quality and presentation served impeccably. Excellent breakfast choices in any mix and match combination, very rare attributes today in staff attitude and friendliness. Old style service and guest consideration very much appreciated. Will return and highly recommend.

Disappointing meal. We opted for the steak at £36 a serving so not cheap but we had high expectations. Plates cold, steak was bland, tough and tasteless. Minimal vegetables and Rosti was good but chips not so good

A delicious breakfast with an extensive range of choices, with cereals, juices, yogurt, croissants, toast and hot options. The homemade smoked salmon was lovely. The room was comfortable and well equipped.
