Very clean, cosy and a great location
9.0 / 10.0
Cosy, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Central heating quickly warms up the place but not needed when using the log fire.
The property is well-maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. The owners have thought about what is needed when holidaying in the Lakes with an area for boots and coats at the entrance. If you have a dog, there is no need to bring dog bowls. The front and rear gardens are well kept and having a parking spot close to the house was great, although not secure. It wasn’t a problem for us (our dog has good recall).
We stayed over New Year and appreciated the welcome pack left and festive decorations. Thanks to the owners for this. We had a lovely stay.
The location of the cottage is good, walks direct from the cottage and easy to drive to other parts of the Lakes. Two pubs in the village, we ate twice at the Horse & Farrier (it was excellent and allowed dogs).
Nothing.

Perfect location for accessing lakes. We enjoyed the little garden and views of Blencathra.
The two dining chairs were rather heavy!

Location was lovely. Easy to access property and was so clean and comfortable. The little extra touches made it so good, ie the dog bowls and treats, the cleaning products, tea towels etc. Everything was thought of to make our short stay lovely and stress less
Nothing really, it was so quiet and relaxing. Would have only been bettered if there had been a local store for food essentials

Location - great for getting to whole range of walks in the area.
It was very small, especially the kitchen. The bed was very uncomfortable, didn’t get a good nights sleep when there. I found a dirty sock under the bed so it couldn’t have been cleaned thoroughly. There was a smell coming from under the kitchen sink, damp smell and there was a leak coming from the waste pipe. This was obviously an ongoing problem which needs to be sorted out.
