Could have been so much better

The area of Ennerdale is outstanding we have been a few times...

Parking was a nightmare. House could have been cleaner, cobwebs in many places dirty pots and cutlery in drawers and cupboards shower was abysmal just a trickle of water, toilet flush was broke. Needed a thicker set of curtains over the patio doors to keep heat in... carpets and bedrooms definitely need a good clean, front door was letting in rain for the four nights we were there..overall this establishment needs quite a bit of tlc to improve the comfort & cleanliness of the place...

Week at the cottage

The cottage has everything you need after hiking in the unpredictable Lake District weather. Heating, extra blankets, bath tub and Amazon prime to relax on the sofa with the hot cup of tea. Beds are big, and the kitchen is well equipped. We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the lovely garden, as it was pouring every day. Good choice of books.

Disappointing

Nothing really. We stayed both nights because we had already paid but we didn't enjoy it at all.

On opening the front door we were met with a dreadful musty smell which lingered for the duration of our stay. The small house needs a complete makeover as the walls are scuffed and marked, the furniture is just different items thrown together and needs renewed as do the soft furnishings. It needs a big dose of TLC. The garden also needs a good clean up. Not our usual choice of accommodation but it sounded better online unfortunately we found it was neither inviting nor relaxing .

Lovely stay at Lake district

Location was great. Cottage has almost everything you need for a comfortable stay including sugar and salt and coffee and so much more. Enough space for 4 of us. Great neighbours.

Lots of hair found on the bed even though the sheets looked clean and spotless. Hairs was a big turn off. Also found a spare pillow case lying under the duvet on the bed. Seemed like was cleaned in a rush. Parking in front of property a bit hit and miss. Doesn't mean that you can't find a parking but may have to walk 5 minutes. Lots of 🕷 spiders which my daughter is scared off so she didn't enjoy as much. Not complaining but stairs a bit tricky for someone elderly with leg pain.

Very enjoyable

Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was available. The house was very clean and comfortable and minimal noise from the road outside. Lovely little garden to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Parking is at a premium, this has been mentioned in previous reviews. When we arrived we had to park half way down from the house and it was a bit of a drag lugging the cases up. But it didn’t ruin our stay.

Attention to detail was great. A few extras that a lot of air b&b’s don’t have. Lots of loo roll been the best!!!I could not fault this house. Thank you. I enjoyed my stay.

Great for just a couple

The location was amazing and a cute little cottage, it's just very dated the tv wouldn't connect and you could smell damp so we added our own little touches to make the house smell nice. Very basic but has everything you need and a good little base for just sleeping, couldn't really take kids to this one, no tv at night would be a pain like I said a little updating would go a long way other than this it was lovely thank you

Great place, great location and absolutely fit for purpose

The cottage was in an excellent location and exactly what we required for a couple of days business in the local area, which included some walking. Although there are not many amenities in the immediate vicinity of the cottage, it was fit for purpose for what we required.

Lots of things could have been better if we were staying there for either a different reason, or for a longer period of time. The reality is, it was perfectly functional for what we wanted from it, for our 2 night stay.

Enjoyable 2 night stay

We had a very lovely short break here whilst visiting friends. The cottage was lovely, well equipped and in an ideal location for walking the local area..our visit to the Ennerdale brewery was a highlight the food was excellent.

No complaints it is as described..ideal for a quiet retreat.

Beautiful furniture upstairs too big. I hit my leg so many times on the bed Downstairs doesn't seem to flow sofa not comfy and table up against wall I can see if 4 people are there it would feel very cramped.

Pleasant stay

Good location for West Lakes.. Comfortable beds.

Parking is on street so at times was difficult to guarantee- had some strange looks from locals at times. Sofa in living room not very comfortable for an evening watching TV. Fire alarm went off when just making toast.

Massive Wasserschäden und Schimmel

Super Lage zum Lake District. Der Garten ist schön.

Als wir das Haus betraten kam uns sofort ein modriger Geruch entgegen. Schnell stellte wir auch schwarzen Schimmel fest. Die Decke Im Wohnzimmer hatte massive Wasserschäden. Als wir die Dusche im ersten Stock ausprobierten, lief das Wasser darunter an Wohnzimmerwand runter! Das Haus, besonders die Küche waren nicht richtig sauber geputzt. Überall klebte irgendwas. Das schlimmste war aber der Geruch, die Dusche und der Schimmel. Wir wollten eigentlich 7 Nächte bleiben, haben uns aber nach 2 Nächten was anderes gesucht. Der Vermieter wollte uns eigentlich einen Teil vom Preis erstatten, meldet sich jetzt aber nicht mehr. Das Haus dürfte in diesem Zustand nicht vermietet werden!
