About this apartment rental

Located in the peaceful village of Ullock with over an acre of landscaped garden for you to enjoy, with pond and packhorse bridge. Private drive with ample parking, patio with fell views, close to Cockermouth and the unspoilt quieter side of the Lakes, with Loweswater only a sort drive away. All on one level, cosy and warm, with garden views from the windows, ideal for birdwatching, and occasionally Red Squirrel visits.
The entrance hall leads into a cosy living/dining room with windows on 2 sides, a television, dvd player and radio. The kitchen is fully equipped with all electric appliances. Broadband is also available, and books and guides are there for you to use. Full central heating is included to keep you warm on those cooler days.
The bedroom has 1 double bed, wardrobe and all linen is included. Laundry service is available.

We really enjoyed our time here, just wish we could have stayed longer. The apartment is comfy, cosy and welcoming and Marion and John are lovely people.The bird feeders just outside the window are inspired and much more entertaining than watching TV. We were even lucky enough to have a visit from the red squirrel which was amazing.Thank you Marion for the warm welcome and the lovely treats, we will definitely return.

My stay in Ullock was an unforgettable experience — it truly felt like visiting my grandparents’ home and stepping back into the 90s. The peaceful surroundings, vintage charm, and calm countryside atmosphere made it feel warm and familiar. I loved how quiet and relaxing the area was, perfect for morning walks and gym sessions that kept my routine going even on holiday.The house was clean, cozy, and full of character, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s the kind of place that slows life down in the best way possible. I’d definitely love to return — it felt like home away from home.

The apartment was very clean and Marion and John were ready waiting for us when we arrived. They were very helpful all week providing us with some of the best locations in the area to visit, and helping us with anything we needed.There is a small step to get into the apartment and a small step in the shower, but the apartment is mostly accessible. The garden is lovely with flowers and trees all round and a lake running under the bridge in the entrance way. There are shops within a fifteen minute drive. Very quiet area, especially overnight.

I could not wish for a better place to stay for my b'day. Landlords are absolutely lovely and super kind. Apartment have evrything it need for comfortable stay. The garden is unreall! Location is just perfect for hill/fells walking in Lake District with very short drive to car parks. I enjoyed my stay very much. I will definitely book this accomodation again. Thank you John&Marion for your lovely hospitality. And my b'day cake and card!! The most kind and lovely welcome ever. Thank you in milions. Hope to see you sometime again. K. I was lucky enough to be able to stay at this property for 2 nights whilst exploring the Lakes. It was perfect, so comfortable and the hosts were so kind and welcoming. Would love to come back again soon as the place was like a little home away from home. Thank you for letting me stay! :)

Lovely little downstairs area of cottage. Very clean and comfortable, had all facilities you’d need. Marion and John were delightful hosts, providing snacks, milk and were just upstairs if we needed anything. Very affordable compared to similar accommodation in the lakes, with Ullock being nicely located right next to the lakes but also round the corner from the beach. Highly recommend.

It’s a fantastic place to stay in a peaceful and secluded little sanctuary on the outskirts of The Lake District. Cockermouth is 10mins drive to get groceries (lovely butcher and bakery), perfect for exploring the Western part of The Lakes and seaside nearby. Marion and John are such warm, thoughtful and super friendly people. The apartment is lovely, very clean, warm and well equipped with a view of birds coming to feed themselves near the window in a beautiful garden with the view of sheep on the hill opposite. Thank you both so much for your generous hospitality and we look forward to coming back soon to visit such an idyllic little corner of The Lakes.

A lovely, warm and cosy place. Well furnished and equipped. Set in a wonderful location, with the house surrounded by a plethora of trees, bushes, flowers and plants. Star of the show is the tree stump covered in bird feeders outside the window. Eating breakfast as the birds come and go puts a smile on your face every morning. It's very tranquil too so after a day of walking, cycling or climbing it's the perfect retreat to come back and relax in. Marion and John are always on hand for help or advice on where to go etc. and are such warm and friendly people, nothing is too much bother for them. We had a great stay, wished we could've had longer here.

We had a lovely week here- the house is very comfortable & well-equipped, great to come back to after a day out. We enjoyed the interesting artworks (and even bought one of Marion's beautiful paintings!) The welcoming goodies were a real holiday treat. The garden is gorgeous, and so much of it to explore & enjoy. Marion and John are excellent hosts-so friendly & helpful whilst still being aware of giving us privacy. We would very happily come back. Well equipped garden apartment with very hospitable hosts, will be staying again! I found John and Marion warm and friendly and genuinely concerned I had everything I needed for a great stay. Their garden grounds are delightful and filled with wildlife and flowers out of every window. Their location is quietly tucked away from all the bustle but not a mile from stunning views and a glorious and surprisingly short drive into the heart of the Western Lakes. I had a lovely stay, wish it could've been for longer! Hopefully next time!

My friend and I 70+ were attending a festival near by ( non music) and this delightful little annex to the main house was in a perfect location being just 3.4 miles from where we needed to be for three days. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and chocolate which was so welcoming after the long days. It was a chilly few days sitting in a large tent so coming back to a cosy, warm and peaceful home from home was delightful. Good shower, well supplied kitchen, private entrance and on site parking.

A lovely warm welcome from Marion and John to their cosy apartment in Ullock. Great location to explore the Western Lakes with a 10 min drive to Loweswater. Very peaceful and quiet, well equipped and comfortable. Beautiful garden for a morning coffee and fantastic array of bird life visiting the feeders. Would highly recommend for those wanting to explore this less busy side of the Lake District.

We loved it here! The owners were so lovely and always happy to give recommendations on places to visit. The apartment itself had everything we needed, and was decorated with lovely artwork. It was always really nice to come back from a busy day and chill out with something on TV, a board game or just to watch the birds outside. Speaking of the birds, there was so much wildlife to be seen from the windows! We came especially for the wildlife, being animal lovers, and we weren’t disappointed. So many lovely garden birds that we don’t often see at home, a pheasant and a sparrowhawk! We also caught a glimpse of a stoat and the beloved resident red squirrel! So we were very happy overall and we were sad to leave. We would absolutely love to come back again!! :)

We had a lovely stay in this nice, clean and fully equipped ground floor apartement with beautiful flowery garden. Watching birds and squirrels from the window. Good access to western lake district and sea shore. The welcoming hosts Marion and John gave us helpful tips for visiting the Lakes and Fells. Highly recommended!!

We had a great 4 night stay here. The apartment had everything we wanted, and the lovely gardens were an added bonus. The location is ideal for visiting Buttermere, Loweswater and Ennerdale. Very friendly hosts and the wine and chocolates were much appreciated.

Within a few hours of meting the host,s they made you feel more like friends than guests. The property is in a lovely small village but up there drive way that isolates you from the noise of the occasional vehicle. The accommodation is superb with a lovely large garden which is great for sitting in with a drink and listening and watching the birds feed. There are some very nice restaurants within a short drive. If you are a walker or a driver there's some spatacular routes with beautiful views. We are looking to book this Accommodation again in the future to enjoy it again.

The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed, located very close to the Wainwrights we needed to do, as well as some great coastal walking. Wonderful hosts, very attentive and helpful with our check in, extremely friendly. We really appreciated the little touches, milk, juice, wine, chocolate and biscuits, to see us started and settled well into our mini Easter break. Thank you so much for everything!

From arriving at the property to leaving, was a joy, a real home from home. John and Marion were wonderful hosts, pleasant and friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable, wanted for nothing, weather was not the best which in October is not to be expected but Treetops is a pleasant place to stay, will look forward to a return visit in the better climes so as to enjoy the gardens

We stayed at treetops for a few nights for our honeymoon. We mainly went out all day site seeing and hiking, Marion had the heating on for us when we arrived which was lovely. Marion and John was very accommodating and attentive. We ran into some car trouble when we was returning, Marion and John went out their way to help us and get us home. Thank you for a lovely stay

There were welcome treats on arrival and the gardens so inviting too. The bird feeders strategically placed to provide entertainment over breakfast. A lovely location in a friendly village.
