Good location for bikepacking into Luxembourg

Good location for us just over the border from Luxembourg for our bikepacking trip and the property is just up the road from the station. Comfy beds Good shower Good instructions for how to get key out of lockbox Lady in the bakery who served us breakfast was lovely and friendly Breakfast was excellent, so much food and very fresh. Unfortunately, most of Gouvy is shut on a Monday and Tuesday including pub and next door pizzeria. Luckily the Frite du Nord snack bar is open every day 1700 to 2100 and the burgers and fries were excellent there.

The property owner wasn’t able to meet us/welcome us and they did message me to that effect with detailed instructions on how to get the key, so that was all good. But after that, communication was non-existent. There was no wifi passcode given, i messaged twice and tried to phone but no response at all. I also asked what time breakfast was? No response. No shampoo or shower gel, no tea bags, just 2 coffee pods only. Disappointing and not worth the price of €90 given that there was No “free wifi” as advertised, as no password given. Although the title of this property is B&B, breakfast is not included in the price. The owner messages you beforehand and asks if you want it at €15 a person and it is served in the bakery downstairs. This was a very good, continental style breakfast with loads to eat.

Great calm stay on Christmas Eve

We were able to stay with our dog! The room had an independent entrance, a nice bathroom and a fridge

The room looked new and clean, and if the walls were decorated or some decorations were places on the nightstand, it would be quite cosy and a bit more welcoming

we ran out of toiletpaper, and had to ask 2 times to get it. - only one big towel, so we had to ask for a second as we stayed 2 persons

Nice place to stay and an excellent breakfast

Nice location, close to the railway station if you would come by train, next to a tiny square where you also have an Italian restaurant with excellent pizza's. Rooms were clean and roomy, nice bathroom and I didn't hear any disturbances during the night. Despite the lack of air conditioning the room did cool down quite well at night (with the window open). Oh, and the breakfast was excellent!

Really some minor details: the owner was a bit late in giving her mobile number so we could give our time of arrival, the room could use an air conditioning during hot summer nights and the refrigerator was on the noisy side (but can be plugged out easily during the night ;-) ).

Nice, cozy and peaceful place

Nice, cozy room, tasty breakfast from the bakery next door, we particularly appreciated the collaboration between all the friendly local businesses and the quietness of the place. The small bookshelf available for the guests was a nice touch.

Perfect stay during COVID-19

The room was renovated and a good size. The bathroom was nice with a great shower. The bed was very comfortable. Soft linens were appreciated as well. The location was perfect. The bakery downstairs and the Bio Shop and Pizzeria next door all made it easy to find things to eat with the restaurants and bars being closed during the pandemic. The shared guest living-room area with the TV was enjoyed one night. The refrigerator in the living room was great for keeping the food we traveled with, for our daily picnics, cold and the soups we brought could be warmed in the microwave. (We brought our tableware) The woman who received us also worked the bakery and was very welcoming. We didn’t speak each other’s language but were able to manage. It was super helpful to have our bikes secure in the building at night.

The building has an older musty smell which they try to remedy with the plug-in air fresheners. If you are sensitive to these smells it may be difficult. We unplugged the air freshener and set it outside of our room and kept the windows open and all was well. As for the common area the musty older home smell was prevalent. We would come back for sure despite this.

Spekgladde en moeilijke trappen naar toegang ; sleutelkastje niet bereikbaar voor personen <1.80m ; geen kast , primitieve slaapkamer.

Redelijk, was ook maar voor 1 nachtje.

Kamer was heel schoon en het bed goed. Ontbijt wat er gelukkig wel was was heel goed en smakelijk. De dame van de bakkerij waar het ontbijt werd geserveerd was heel vriendelijk.

Zeer minimalistische aankleding en rumoerige locatie. Communicatie via Booking.com verliep zeer slecht, kreeg geen antwoorden op vragen. Er was onduidelijkheid over hoe en wanneer te betalen en of er wel of geen ontbijt zou zijn.

Er was veel lawaai van werkzaamheden boven ons. Iemand was aan vloeren ofzo, tot na 22.00 Dat was niet zo leuk.

De persoon die instond voor het ontbijt was niet op de hoogte. Ze heeft snel nog iets klaar gemaakt tussen de klanten van de bakerij door Geen fruitsapje bij het ontbijt, maar ik neem het die jongedame niet kwalijk

Fijne omgeving, fijne bakker met daar tegenover een fijn restaurant en mooi wandelgebied.

We sliepen boven een goede bakker. De aardige bakkersvrouw heeft ons koffiecups en melk gegeven omdat die ontbraken op de kamer. Eerder verbleven we daar en vroegen om 2 enkele bedden. Nu vroegen we om een 2 persoonsbed. Het was dezelfde kamer maar nu de 2 enkele bedden aan elkaar geschoven...... er is geen gastvrouw of heer. Communicatie is er niet. Op telefoon, email, sms, signal of whatsapp wordt niet gereageerd. De WiFi code kregen we van de aardige bakkersvrouw.

Zie hierboven. Geen service, niet klantvriendelijk. In verhouding dus veel te duur.

Check in kon vlotter.. kreeg via email in laatste instantie de code voor de deur maar op reis lees je niet altyd je mails...

Goede locatie, leuk dorpje maar de kwaliteit en service kan een heel stuk beter

De locatie is prima en de bakkerij die ernaast zit is top! Voor het geld wat je betaald is het oké. Niet veel meer dan dat.

Een aantal dingen bevielen mij niet. De douche is heel onhygiënisch en loopt niet goed door. Je kon niet 5 minuten douchen zonder dat het water overstroomt! De wastafel is niet schoongemaakt en zat vol met viezigheid. Verder was er niet genoeg toiletpapier aanwezig en wat me het meest stoorde is dat er geen handdoeken service was. We hebben in totaal 3 nachten geslapen en gevraagd om schone handdoeken, dit was niet mogelijk en ik vind dit niet heel netjes!

haben uns in den Ardennen verliebt

Zimmer OK, Bad gut und sauber. Was jedoch 5 Sterne verdient ist die Bäckerei wo man für kleines Geld ein super Frühstück bekommt und die Dame die dort arbeitet weil nicht für Band B direkt zuständig aber uns immer geholfen. Das zweite Juwel ist die Pizzeria auf dem Platz, sehr lecker und nicht teuer. Im ganzen einen schönen Aufentahlt in Belgien

prima plek op handige locatie

Prettige kamer met koffie/thee voorziening, vlakbij station. Uitgebreid ontbijt bij de bakkerij. Als je geen grote eter bent, kan je hier misschien beter broodje met koffie los bestellen. Biologisch supermarktje ook in zelfde gebouw en lekkere pizzeria om de hoek. We waren hier 1 nacht op doorreis

Passable mais toutefois facile à améliorer avec un peu d'entretien mieux fait.

Le Petit déjeuner était formidable, choix, qualité quantité... La boulangère qui nous l'a servi était très agréable et sympa. Le logement pour une seule nuit était bien aussi.

Il n'y avait pas un seul rouleau de papier toilette, seulement 3 petits coupons et un vendredi vers 18h difficile d'en trouver dans le bled. le dérouleur tombe si on le touche. Le mot de passe WIFI illisible où incorrect sur la pancarte, on nous demande par une adresse e-mail no replay d'envoyer un message quand nous sommes arrivés mais un mauvais réseau gsm et pas moyen de se connecter au wifi pour répondre. C'est ennuyeux. Le lit semblait propre mais tout chiffonné mais des grosses toiles d'araignées partout dans les coins et au plafond. Chassis de fenêtres idem. Parcours d'entrée pas assé éclairé de nuit et par temps mouillé.

ik kon de eigenaren niet bereiken en stond voor een gesloten deur. kreeg de info over sleutelkastje nadat ik 45 minuten op de stoep heb staan wachten 20 euro extra voor de hond vind ik ook erg veel! Zeker als je alleen reist

Pour un week-end c’est bien.

La literie est très confortable et il fait assez calme la nuit.

Il faisait très vite chaud dans la chambre (chauffage éteint). Dommage qu‘il n’y avait pas la possibilité d’avoir un petit déjeuné chaque matin. Il n‘y avait que 2 dosettes à café pour le week-end.
