Off the beaten path gem.

Peaceful , with beautiful views over towards lombok. Nice pool with comfortable pool loungers. We really ejoyed staying here. As its off the beaten path you right invillage life. The breakfast is great with yummy nasi goreng ++ and good quality fresh fruit and a big pot of fresh coffee. The chefs know how to cook here. It would be best if you had your own transport as there is nothing close. Extra points for the hammock on the verandah. Beds comfy aircon good.

Wonderful! Helpful host and perfect location for exploring.

Loved everything. Perfectly located to explore on scooter. The host was very helpful with everything we needed ; scooter rental, fishing trip, transportation. The staff, food, our room (room 4) with large terrace and small couch to relax & enjoy the view and listen to the birds were all great. The pool was extremely clean, perfect temperature & beautiful view. Host arranged for my husband to go fishing with local fisherman & staff cooked our fish perfectly. A different day our host bought us a red snapper which he knew we liked and the staff cooked it for us. That whole grilled red snapper they prepared for us absolutely the best meal we had in two weeks in Bali. The host picked us up from Ubud to take us to his hotel and a week later took us to Sanur to our next hotel. He shared much information about Bali, its people, traditions, history village, etc. which we thoroughly enjoyed. We loved our stay!

We ended up not staying. We took a loss of money and left. Very disappointed and not what the pictures on booking.com showed. Very very pit of the way. Many difficult steps especially when you are older. Lovely staff.

Well worth the effort of getting there.

Frangipani Inn was a lovely place to stay for three nights. It’s pretty remote, on the east coast, but worth the drive. It’s unsophisticated but has everything we needed – a pool, a restaurant, massage facilities. My friend and I had a little villa each – the bed and pillows were comfortable, there was a kettle and a little fridge in each unit. The outdoors bathroom attached to each unit is a delightful surprise and completely functional. We really enjoyed our time here. The owner, Nyman, is very helpful and speaks good English.

Quiet, restful family run property with caring staff

This family run business was a lovely little place and the staff were all so attentive and accommodating. The pool was gorgeous and it was a very peaceful setting. The food was good too.

The mattresses could use an upgrade (the one i slept on was saggy in the middle and therefore not great on the back). Also, probably the location, it was really set quite in the middle of nowhere so getting anywhere required renting a taxi. Initially when I booked I had thought I'd be with a scooter so wasn't too concerned with making my way around. That said the hotel arranged a scooter tour for me for a full day which allowed me to see everything I wanted to but probably I'd stay in Amed as a solo traveller next time. This place would be perfect for couples wanting a quiet and private getaway or solo travellers wanting some down time away from the hustle and bustle or those with their own means of transport. A beautiful place tho and very kind and caring staff who couldn't be faulted.

The villa was quiet and private We were able to look out over the ocean, which was the purpose of choosing this location No sounds of traffic or people Short drive to the virgin (white) beach Laundry service and massages were excellent Shops nearby are much cheaper if you take the time to look. The food was excellent, try the ‘balsamic tuna steaks’ They accommodated all gluten-free and dairy free needs, including in meals that did not come as such they were able to change the ingredients Short walk to the ocean, and we enjoyed hiking around the village Children and people were happy and waved and said hello unlike we saw in the city We are from a small town in America and enjoyed this very much We were able to have private, open conversations with the owner, who has a great story to tell if you take the time to listen Highly recommended if you want a true sense of what Bali Indonesia was before all the tourism

My room was perfect. 2 pools on the property with lovely views. Very peaceful vibe and Nyoman and staff were superb. Food at the Frangipani Inn was cooked fresh and was excellent. Location nice and private but also close to many sights and tours.

True Balinese hospitality, and a chance to relax and enjoy nature.

Beautiful, secluded location to get to know the genuine Eastern Bali culture.Friendly people, excellent host. Nyoman and his family and staff went out of their way to welcome us and share their wonderful culture. Great base to explore the water palaces, volcanoes, Amed snorkelling etc, in easy to manage day trips that Nyoman can help you plan.

The beach in walking distance is not swimmable, but offers great views of the entire area to Lombok.

Perfect for relaxing away from the tourist hustle spots

My accommodation was a very comfortable villas with water views, aircon, outdoor shower, tea and coffee making plus a very welcome 19L of filtered water. Nyoman, his family and staff were all so lovely and helpful. Arranged me a massage by the pool and day trip with his driver. Worth mentioning the food is amazing, fresh and tasty.

Not a dislike but probably worth a mention for those who look at reviews before booking. There are quite a few steep stairs to negotiate. It wouldn’t stop me from going back but keep in mind if stairs are not your friend.

Balinese hideaway rising star. Clean, calm, comfy and cozy!

Amazing hide away. If you came to Bali to reset and clear your mind but there are too many tourists are on your way, here is a gem for you. Family owned business gives you both private space, care and tourist attractions, should you need them. Surrounded by ocean and green scenery, there are super clean rooms waiting for you to come and take a rest from life or prepare to see local attractions offered by the host. Really cosy place where you can either unwind watching or hearing the ocean or have a safe and clean base to see what Eastern Bali has to offer.

Google maps can show you very poor quality road to arrive here. We were struggling a lot with our car to realize that there are easy and convenient roads which doesn’t require 4x4 vehicle. As of July 2023 it’s better to have a driver or choose longer routes which google maps marks as “Similar ETA”.

For individuals not the spot to stay

very clean and quiet to relax at the pool or terrace. By watching the ocean you realy calm down. if you always want to eat on site or book tours with the owner you are more than welcome etc., it is your accommodation.

If you want to travel individually - avoid Seraya and Frangipani. On the second evening we didn't want to eat on site, we wanted to get away with the scooter - we were very rudely stopped by an employee, where we wanted to go, dinner will be served at there warung! The owner himself treated us condescendingly, whether it was about scooters - since he has no competition in the wilderness, we had to pay 80k for a scooter that had no working electronics, the first only front wheel brake, the second also had no speedometer /fuel gauge/odometer. When returning, fuel from his own shop will be charged arbitrarily (20k/liter) even tho it is fueld like we got it.

By far the best place I stayed in Bali. off the beaten path, but so worth it. Quiet, nice views, pool, clean and comfortable. Amazing place.

I loved this place immediately.. It had all I needed for a relaxing short break. Kettle, coffee, tea in the room, and drinking water all provided. AC was good. Wifi was good. The team are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful open air bathroom, with fantastic view of the night sky and all the stars.
