Stunning view

I absolutely loved this hotel’s location. It offers one of the best views of the lake Batur and Mount Abang. You can watch the sunrise, the movement of the clouds, and the stunning nature of this unique part of Bali. It’s also very convenient for hiking Mount Batur, as the starting point is easy to reach from the hotel. The design of the cottages, the landscaping, and the overall atmosphere are beautiful and tastefully done. The owner and his wife, as well as all the staff, are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent too: breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were all very tasty. Another big highlight is the pool filled with natural hot spring water, which was such a pleasure to enjoy.

Beautiful place to stay for hikes - wouldn't recommend more than 1 or 2 days as a base for hiking.

Breathtaking Scenery. Friendly staff who helped book me a hiking guide from the hotel to peak of mount batur took about 90 mins for us - I am relatively in shape but not a fitness buff for reference. They also booked me a driver down to Kuta when my previous one had cancelled.

Lots of flies as others have said - but the staff provided some bait traps to try and reduce the bother- there also arent so many inside the room. The doors are quite thin so sound from outside can wake you (especially because it is in a remote area so sound travels!). The roads to reach the hotel are a bit tricky too as many are in this area.

Great value for money

The room was really nice looking and very comfortable. The bed was big and comfy. The room had great views, you could see the swimming pool, the lake, the mountains.... Great place to see the sunrise. The road to get to the hotel is really bad but our Grab was able to do the trip. The staff is really nice, kind and helpful. The breakfast is OK, they have options. We enjoyed our stay.

The only thing is that the flies in the area are a total nuisance. It's not a thing of the hotel, it's the area, but they are relentless.

The location of the place is very problematic and drivers don’t want to go there and cancel Grabs, the you must take the place’s driver which is expensive. In general there are many flies in Batur which is very disturbing.

Great view, amazing staff

The view is amazing, the staff is very polite and helpful. The room is clean, you’ll have the breakfast from your room with great view. They organized hiking to the volcano right from the hotel. Be ready that the road is not easy, if you are physically not sure, better to take the jeep guide or you can meet the sunrise from the hotel, still good:)

You’ll face with flies, but it’s the issue of the village not the property. Recommendation to take a bike to get to the hotel Canalization is not working very well, smell from the bathroom:( Not too much charges in the room

Amazing views, nice place to relax

- Mind-blowing views, just amazing! - Sunrise and sunset are magical times here - Very helpful owner lady, resolves problems quickly - For the Mt. Batur sunrise hike/jeep, you dont have to start too early, as the property is very near to the trails (e.g. our jeep ride took only 25 mins) - A Sentorini styled hot water spring place is just next door - Massagist can be called over on-site

Cons - The teenager staff does not speak/understand English, so it becomes tricky when the owner is not reachable (we tried our best, but even simple English instructions like "please toast the bread" or "get us a fork please" caused a comedy of errors with the staff) - Food was average, but it is unfair to expect extraordinary food from a property of this size. - We were served milk gone bad once, which was unacceptable. - While the location is amazing for views, it also means that you need to drive down to the town for a decent restaurant. Notes and tips: - Kintamani is all about Mt. Batur sunrise visit, but note that it is worth doing on a clear weather day only. - If you are physically fit for the 90-120 mins steep hike, then that is probably better to do than the jeep. - The jeep ride takes you one level below the summit, but not at the very top, where the crators are. - The lava rocks jeep ride add-on felt like a scam, there is nothing there, just some random rocks at the end of a long ride. - In case you are unaware, Kintamani has flies everywhere, in all hotels and restaurants. Can't do anything about it. This property provides fly catcher papers and sprays to reduce the menace.

The view is spectacular and the room was extra comfortable and modern. It’s really close to the trail going up to mount Batur but also close to restaurants and cafes.

They didn’t have a lot of choices in their kitchen. But it’s really not a problem as you can find restaurants close to the hotel.

Brilliant staff, great views, peace and quiet

This place is far enough away from others that you get real peace and quiet. But what really makes it is the staff - they are so helpful and friendly. They served us great breakfast, and we enjoyed the dinners we ordered too. They helped us with bike hire, as well as a couple of taxis. Really felt well looked after. The room was lovely, with an excellent view and a great shower - all cleaned daily.

Water pressure - at times none at all, very poor. Most of the time dribbling out barely enough to shower then sometimes super strong and burning hot for short periods. Of the beaten track is putting it lightly, very bumpy road under construction and barely able to get through in a car. Flies - this is not the fault of the hotel, but you should not underestimate just how many flies are in the area. I could also see tens of flies sitting on our hotel towels as they were drying.

A small hotel in the nature

We stayed in room number 201. I think this is the best view room. It has two side glass windows entirely from floor to ceiling. Can see the mountains and lakes from the room. The last few meters to access the hotel is bit difficult since there is no proper road. There is no so called restaurant but can get food prepared by the hotel in a small pantry. Breakfast was okay. But the most bad experience was the toilet. It was very shabby and very bad smell. Looking also very bad.The staff Putu and his colleague were very cooperative and helpful. There are plenty of flies, so don’t keep open the doors. I think in Kintamani area everywhere there is flies problems .

Outstanding location, views and quality of property - just book it, you won’t be disappointed

Having travelled around eastern Bali and coming over the mountain from Tejakula, We booked 1 night not knowing the location or area and within 30 minutes changed that to 3 nights. The location in stunning with the most amazing views that never get boring. The sunsets and sunrise were just fabulous, we did not want to leave. In fact we did very little in the way of tours, because it was so peaceful here. Yes it’s a bumpy road to get to, but doable in car and scooter- who cares. The staff are attentive, rooms fabulous and property immaculate. Food options are limited, but what is offered is tasty. Pool is awesome, and oh did I mention the views 😀 If you want cocktails and more finer food options, wander down to Toteme just down the hill. Highly highly recommend this place, if you have any doubts- don’t - just book it.

Nothing really- if I am being critical- the room needs a small table and two chairs so you can eat meals more comfortably I saw people moan about flies in area, we’re from Western Australia, the flies here can’t compete with rural Oz !!! So certainly didn’t stop us sitting outside or lounging by pool.

A wonderful stay

This spot is stunning, Much more than we expected, the most amazing thing are the owners,it belongs to a lovely people who treated us like part of their family. .The rooms are sparkling clean and also super cozy. .The food that they cooked for us was so fresh and delicious .The view to the lake from there is spectacular. Highly recommend for who wants to stay around Kintamani Area. Certainly heading back in the near future.

Lovely view and convenient location to Mt. Batur but getting to the hotel is problematic

The location and view was spectacular. Rooms were clean and spacious, bathrooms were well appointed. Only 20' from the base if you want to climb Mt. Batur which is why we stayed there.

It was extremely hard to locate and get to the place. Location is a major downside. Road access is not good - a 4 wheel may be needed for comfort. Also we had noisy neighbours despite it being nearly 11- once we asked them politely it was better.

It’s a challenge to enjoy what’s on offer.

The property itself is quite nice, perched on a hill over looking the lake and mountain… the staff are friendly and the rooms are nice BUT…

The road, if you can call it that, getting to the property is really bad, we had to keep apologising to the driver, pot holes everywhere. No transport options at the property, so then you feel trapped as it is quite far from anywhere. They say they have a restaurant, but it’s a kitchen and you have to eat in your room, but there’s no furniture to eat off. The menu has 5 things on it and they are all pretty average, the property’s food photos are completely misleading. There were regular power black outs, which only lasted a few minutes each time, and there wasn’t any hot water, and only two towels for showering and pool.

Access along a poor dirt track. A long way from the town or any activities. Room (1) had a smell of sewage/drains. There were insects everywhere. Holes in the cushion covers on the bench sofa & stains on the bed sheets. Lights in bathroom could only be switched on at the same time as the entire room. Zero privacy unless you draw your curtains. We had a poor quality lunch served in our room as no restaurant facility and then left and didn’t stay the night. We were charged full price anyway.

Good location for some quiet days

Great location to start from there to hike the Mount Batur, clean and very nice staff! Good for some quiet and relaxing days. The people there are wonderful.

The accommodation itself is very good but there is a little bit of nothing to do and see except of Mount Batur round there. And a lot of flies - but that is also not changeable by the stay.

It's a beautiful place with a great view and easy access to the volcano hike.

Many services in the area seem expensive in comparison. Especially compared with other places in bali and the quality provided. Happy to pay at a premium, but not when it feels like I'm being ripped off. This is mot a criticism of the hotel and owner, they are lovely and I highly recommend the place

Stunning views and delightful food

Stunning views of the caldera and lake from the hotel room - just like in the pictures! Mount Batur is just behind the hotel (not visible from the rooms) so it’s a great place to stay if you plan to do the Batur morning hike. The food at the hotel is also delightful. Highly recommend the fish.

There was no room cleaning or water top up. The hotel itself is part way up the mountain down a thin road so a little tricky to get to. Local area is sparse with not many restaurants or attractions. But if you head into Kintimani there are some incredible restaurants and a museum with everything you need to know about the volcano!

Amazing view, super attentive staff, Putu was so kind! We saw the full moon come up, we saw the sun come up right from our bed. We will forever remember these days here! Swimming pool is nice and cold.
