Received a room upgrade on arrival. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom a good size and clean.
The only downside was the noise overnight. From about 11pm until the early hours (at least 2am) there were really loud noises. It sounded like intermittent drilling then noises as if someone was scraping inside the wall. The noises were loud enough as though they were coming from the hallway or an adjacent room (I was room 51) although I couldn’t find the source.

Great location with 3 great restaurants nearby. We stayed here for the Emmerdale and Coronation Street tours over a long weekend
The hotel is extremely dated, no money has been spent on it for years. The furniture is old, carpets and fittings are dated. There isn't a restaurant, breakfast is continental only.
