Nice Hotel but bad smell in the hotel room.

The personnel was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very delicious and contained a broad variety (eg. Eggs, omelet, fruit salad...). Our room had direct entry to the beautiful pool, which was very nice and special. In total: if the room would have been better, we would have really enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately the room smelled a lot. We asked the reception if they had another room, available, but they were funny booked so they sent the room service. The service cleaned the toilet and extensively stayed room perfume everywhere. This helped, but was not very nice either. Still a moldy and bad smell was there. We stayed there for only one night (longer wouldn't have been possible) and sadly did not enjoy our stay at all. If the smell wouldn't have been there, we really would have enjoyed our stay.

Good budget stay in lovely landscaped grounds

We stayed in bungalow room. Beautiful setting with lots of trees, nice patio, lovely pool area which was always peaceful. Nice patio. Breakfast was good although the restaurant area is a bit dark. Quiet setting but easy walk to shops, restaurants and night market which was fun. Good value for money

Room and bathroom was dated but still comfortable. Shower curtain mouldy. Hardly any plug sockets and no tea and coffee in room.

Despite advertising, this hotel’s is nothing beachfront, not does it have any resort facilities.

This hotel claims to be beachfront with full resort facilities, ie restaurants, bars, day spa, etc. the beachfront section of the hotel no longer exists - it has been sold & demolished. Only 30 rooms were open. No other resort facilities were available. We were told that breakfast would be ala carte - we had a choice of fried eggs, rice, bacon, ham, cheese & sausage - everyday! The few other guests were people staying for months at a time. This hotel’s advertising is totally false. The only nice area of the hotel was the pool.

As I said above, the hotel is nothing like it is portrayed in it’s advertising. Most of the guests were long-stay guests and treated the pool like their own private property. Children’s toys & inflatables were strewn all over the pool area & were never tidied up by staff.

Amazing tropical garden

The bungalows are in the middle of a very big beautiful garden full of coconut trees and tropical plants and a swimming pool. From the moment you enter the garden from the street the flower scent is just amazing, day and night, when you walk under the trees or when you are relaxing at your private terrace, it's absolutely intoxicating!! Very big room, clean, great comfortable bed, AC, fridge with free water, coffee, closet, safety box. Super quiet, all you hear is the sound of the birds, no sounds from the street, only nature around you. Great food, very polite restaurant staff, I didn't have time to try the breakfast. There is also a very nice bigger pool right across the street behind the reception. The hotel is 10' walking distance from the beach ( it's better to turn right at the corner) and the night market. You can fully feel the tropical landscape, the scents and the sounds the nature of Thailand has to offer with all the amenities you need

1)The reception policy. They don''t arrange taxi transports at all, not even from the airport, nor they refer you to a driver, so you have to arrange everything by yourself. Also they are open only until 8pm which doesn't really help if you are out all day for trips and excursions. From 8pm until morning there is a guard at the reception but he doesn't speak English. They said that they arrange tours but you have to book very early and not in the afternoon, so thankfully at the next corner there's Noi's tourist office where you can book all kinds of activities and transports even last minute, she really went out of her way to help me. There's also many other tourist agencies close by, on the street to the market. 2) the bathroom towels need to be changed every day because they can't dry due to humidity and also they need to clean the terrace too

I stayed in a bungalow and the area the bungalows are in is quiet and has its own pool, the vibe is relaxed, and you can forget about the world.

The resort is starting to show its age and needs to be refurbished. But if this were to happen it would lose its character and make it unaffordable for budget minded travellers.

Nice quiet place, good breakfast, good value

The room was quite spacious with a lot of places to hang clothes and, for us, our scuba gear to dry. It was nice and quiet and everything in the room worked well. The breakfast area is large and the choice is good (good eggs made for you) but, as with many places, prepare for mosquitos.

When I needed to find someone at the front desk to solve a problem with the lock/key, there was no one to be found which meant we could not go out. Also, I was not a big fan of the product they sprayed for mosquitos right when we arrived in the room.

Location was close to everything

The whole place had a moldy smell. The rooms were dark and dated. The front receptionist were okay at best. Internet connection was really bad. There were 9 WiFi hubs and they all dropped every ten minutes. I left after one night despite having paid for 3 nights.

Our room was quiet. Aircon worked and the bed was quite comfortable

No bar was a disappointment. lot of ants particularly in the bathroom. Reception staff were cool to the point of chilly and not willing to be helpful however the cleaning staff were lovely. The smaller pool was over chlorinated - my skin reacted to it. We cut short our stay - thankfully the hotel refunded us.

Size of the room is good , nice balcony to sit on , close to the pool . Easy walk to shops and cafes also a beach is close by . Cycle hire opposite is a bonus. Breakfast was ok , nice fresh made omelette , fruit and breads

Breakfast had 4 options for non vegetarians in the hot food area , we had eg small pineapple fritters and after breakfast no coffee or tea available , the reception area could have a machine even if pay for it

Lovely quiet place in the heart of Khao Lak!

Location is excellent, very quiet cos it's not near the main 'busy' area, which is a good 10min walk away. Beach is just across the road, with lovely views. Staff here are friendly and accommodating, rooms are big, clean and comfortable with balcony & pool view. Small sundry shop just opposite the lobby, and excellent foot massage just around the corner. Value for money wise Fanari is unbeatable.

Limited parking if you drive here, just 3 dedicated lots, but thankfully available and only for guests, fcfs. Shops and restaurants are a brisk 10min walk away, so do what everyone else does, rent a bike. Roads are a bit narrow for vehicles besides bikes, and dark at night. Joe's Steakhouse 100m away is worth the walk. Excellent Schnitzel!
