The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place itself is worn out, in need of major lift up. In general we are not picky, but this place is quite plane. I would give 2 stars at best.

We recently stayed at Fanari Seafront at the beginning of January 2018. The breakfast buffet was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We didn't realize that there were 2 Fanari resorts (just down the road from each other), and we showed up to the wrong one in our taxi. The staff didn't blink an eye and they drove us the 300m to the other resort themselves. We also got fresh towels everyday, which was great as it took a long time for them to dry out when it was a bit humid and rainy.

Ok place. No beach at high tide. Room was right next to loud pool. They would not change it. Also denied request for late checkout as I waited to be picked up for dive trip in the afternoon. Shower was cold though bath had hot water. Mediocre breakfast. Shampoo bottle was greasy from them refilling it with some cheap stuff. No soap to wash hands just bath gel. Overall, meh. You can find better for the price in Khao Lak.

The seafront wing room was lovely, good for value. The view from there was very relaxing. Breakfast was also good, with different Thai dishes everyday. The only thing I wasnt as satisfied with was the bathroom, the shower water would run along the side of the bathtub and onto the bathroom floor, but theres no drain on the floor, so theres always a big puddle of water, and the foot mat is always wet. But other than that, all good.

The hotel is located on a quiet street but there were ample restaurants all within a 5 min walk. A 10 min walk takes you to the night market. You can swim in front of the hotel but we walked just 5 mins up the road and rented chairs and an umbrella. We like a long beach that is good for walking and this was perfect. You can walk for miles. We also felt very safe here. Breakfast was excellent as was the pool area and WIFI. There was not a lot of water pressure but it was sufficient. We do highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a superior room that was very spacious. It had 2 normal size double beds in it side by side, but they were not quite big enough for both myself and my husband to sleep comfortably in one so we had to sleep as in twin beds. I would have preferred a large double. The room they gave us was tucked away in a corner near facing a brick wall and it made the room seem quite dark. The lighting, especially in the bathroom was too dim. The bathroom was very clean but felt a little on the small side. No shower screen , only a shower curtain which allowed water to run all over the floor. It also didnt help that the shower head was spraying in all directions but down. Having said all this the breakfast was excellent, staff friendly, rooms very clean. Ocean Swimming out the front of the hotel was governed by the tides and most of the time we were there it was too high and rough to attempt it.You can walk 5 minutes down the road to access a beach where you can sit on the sand and swim at all times of the day. Fanari has a seawall and a man made sand lounge area.We got an excellent rate through Hotels.com so I cant complain but I wouldnt want to pay the top rates to stay there.

We were expecting to be going to a resort as shown in the photos. Instead the photos were pre-Tsunami and some were from the other Fanari Resort. Rooms were great and the Staff were clearly were having the same problem with other guests expectations. The restaurant was closed and we had to go up the road to the main Fanari building for breakfast.
