Mid week break

Lovely location with pool and sunbeds within walking distance of Beach and plenty of restaurants /bars /shops.Lovely presentation of food for breakfast with plenty of choice on offer.Nightly hotel entertainment in adjoining hotel accessed through adjoining corridor and use of pool and sunbeds was available also .Room had partial pool/sea view which was fine daily room service with fresh towels.All Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel MS Tropicana is spotlessly clean, all staff are friendly and helpful. Really love this place and the location is second to none. The buffet breakfast is superb. I really struggle to fault it. The Hotel has a loyal, repeated clientele and this is 100% deserved.

There's only 2 things that would improve Hotel MS Tropicana 1. Too many stairs - alot of elderly people visit Tropicana the stairs into the Hotel would be hard to navigate. The stairs to the buffet hall also very difficult although you can get into it from the outside you still have to use the big stairs outside to get there. There is a wheelchair lift but I think more step free access will make this Hotel even more appealing. The lifts in the Hotel are very reliable. 2. A heated pool would be brilliant also with step free access

Fantastic sea view, pool view, huge room, very clean, brilliant staff, shared facilities with sister hotel next door ( MS Amaragua), beautiful grounds, beach bar leading to sea, great evening entertainment. 10/10 Really enjoyed our stay at the Tropicana.

Bedroom needed mirror on dressing table, bathroom needs walk-in shower & glass screen instead of bath with curtain (it was immaculate though). Hair dryer in bedroom instead of bathroom might free up bathroom? No power sockets at bedside, only sockets were miles away from beds at dressing table.

Poor customer service

I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the quality of service and facilities provided during my current stay at your hotel. I made a booking well in advance, on 26th March, for a room with a balcony and sea view, for which I paid an additional fee. I arrived on 2nd May with my family, including a small child, and promptly paid the full amount upon check-in. Unfortunately, the experience since then has been far from satisfactory. Upon entering the room, I encountered the following issues: The air conditioning was completely non-functional. The balcony door was jammed and could not be opened. The in-room phone was not working—calls to reception went unanswered. I attempted to report these issues using the room phone, but no one answered. I then approached the reception in person and reported the problems. A technician was sent to inspect the air conditioner, but he was unable to repair it and informed us that fixing it was not possible. When I followed up at reception, I was offered an alternative room on the ground floor without a sea view — a downgrade from the room I had booked and paid for. I also requested a table fan to make the room more bearable in the absence of air conditioning, but this was denied as well. This experience has been extremely disappointing. The lack of room readiness, poor communication, and unwillingness to offer an acceptable solution reflect poorly on your customer service standards. It is particularly distressing as I am traveling with an 18-month-old child, and the conditions in the room make it difficult to rest. I am dissatisfied with the service provided and the failure to deliver the amenities I was promised and paid for. This situation has negatively affected the beginning of our holiday. Given the circumstances and the fact that the room does not meet the standards advertised or agreed upon, I request a refund corresponding to the downgraded facilities. Tropicana Wifi was also not working.

Perfect stay from arrival to departure.

From arrival to departure, the staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The choices available for the breakfast buffet were excellent, there's literally something for everyone. The rooms were a great size, the beds very comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean. There's a great area around the pool with free sun loungers to relax on or right in front of the hotel there's a bar on the beach as well as sun loungers and parasols which can be rented. There's a handy supermarket next door too. We absolutely loved this place and would definitely come back.

It's hard to find anything to criticise about the hotel but the only negative I'd say is that they don't have irons available for the rooms.

Comfortable room, small balcony with beautiful views. Great location. Very good breakfast, lots of choice and in a lovely spot with twinkly lights! Nice pool and gardens kept immaculate.

Travelling on my own I missed chatting to people. Lots of Dutch visitors who chatted amongst themselves. Not the hotels fault but I did feel quite isolated at times.

Recent stay

Visited MS Amaragua in June. Just returned from a 5 night stay in MS Tropicana. Excellent value for money, fantastic location and great that you can use facilities of Amaragua.

Some upgrading required in bedroom eg. Bathroom door water damaged and Ceiling tiles marked. Seals around Bath required replacing. None of this however spoiled our time there. On previous visit coffee at breakfast was awful, may be just not our taste, this was easily sorted by taking our own Azera.

Comfortable and clean. Fortunately the hotel shares facilities with the hotel next door and the pool there is excellent with a bar and facilities. Carihuela beach is one of the best on the Costa Del Sol and the atmosphere at night in the summer is amazing.

Specified a double bed and got two singles pushed together. A bit over-priced for the facilities and condition of the premises. I realize that the hotel has been closed for two years, but re-opening it before it is ready for business at top rates is greedy and short-sighted.
