Best of Ohrid

Easy spot to reach by car through the upper gate of the old town. Private parking right by the door of Villa Kale. A fabulous room with a balcony and so much light. Views of the lake and the fortress. Comfy bed, sofa and chair. Great to have the kettle and fridge in the room, I could make tea! There's a mini market around the corner. The hotel is on a hill. There are many steps - but the steps make Ohrid what it is - and it's worth it for the views. And of course our host, Ljupco, was great. Friendly, hospitable and kind. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything to see and do in Loutro. (The picture is the view from our room)

Perfect Stay with Amazing Host and Stunning Lake View

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The host is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people we have ever met – he truly went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and at home from the very first moment. His hospitality made a huge difference and created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation itself is excellent: spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. The apartment is bright and cozy, with everything you might need for a relaxing stay. What really takes your breath away is the stunning view over Lake Ohrid – waking up and enjoying that scenery every day was simply magical. The location couldn’t be better: just a 5-minute walk to the beach and to the Old City, which makes it super convenient whether you want to relax by the water or explore the town’s charm. It’s peaceful yet central, giving you the best of both worlds. We are beyond happy with our experience and can’t recommend this place enough. Without a doubt, we will be coming back again!

Excellent location (in the Old Town next to the Upper Gate) with very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent value for the location, cleanliness and comfort.

Fantastic place and we love Buddy!

We stayed here for two weeks in August. Lovely apartment, really clean and comfortable. Fantastic view of the lake and really friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and our kids loved playing with Buddy the resident dog! Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you Stefan and Lubcho!

The staff is great and super welcoming and helpful. Location is great and there was parking spot waiting for us upon our arrival in front of the house. They also have beautiful garden which we used more than i was expecting.

Good location with view to the lake. When you arrive in order to park you have to call the property and they will open the gate at the town door (since it is inside the limited traffic zone). All our staying went smooth

Quick visit to Ohrid - will definitely be returning...

Brilliant location - 10 minutes via steps down to the lake and beach area, 10 minutes by road to the centre of the new town. Facilities had everything needed - large bathroom with great shower, very comfortable large bed, plus an additional single bed, sofas, fridge, air conditioning, plenty of storage furniture - wardrobe, drawers etc, small balcony with seats for two. Excellent value for the price. Stefan our host was extremely helpful, happy to chat in English, organised a taxi for us on departure

nice 2 night stay

spacious suite with great view of the amphitheatre. parking outside. in the old town and a bit of a walk uphill from the harbour but this was not an issue for us. comfortable beds and nice hot shower with good water pressure. family run and both dad and son were nice hospitable people. recommended

Very friendly owners, beautiful view on the lake, spacious rooms with lots of room for luggage, easy check-in and check out.

The location is quite central but you have to always walk up the hill to get home, for me it was fine but I think it's not for everyone.

Villa Kale Ohrid

My second visit to Villa Kale! Spotlessly clean.Friendly, helpful staff, stunning views of the lake. Also, a large balcony with a great view of Samuel's Fortress. Quiet location meant that a good night's sleep is guaranteed.

WiFi didn't always work. Villa Kale is situated at the top of a very steep climb from the Old Town - could be difficult in wet weather! Booking.com claims the Deluxe Double Room is wheelchair accessible; sadly this isn't the case as it's on the first floor, up a flight of stairs! There is no lift at Villa Kale.

I would highly recommend this place for the next visitors/tourist who plan to visit Ohrid

The hosts were fantastic! They were very accommodating and friendly. They made us feel at home. They were very helpful on how to get around the tourist spots in Ohrid. Lastly, they always serve with a smile :)

It's not the accommodation but more on the number of stairs, you must use to go around Ohrid. But it's part of the adventure. No pain, no gain

we wanted to leave at 0700 to go on a hike. this was before the usual breakfast time so the staff laid out everything at 2300 for us to pack our own breakfast and then got up at 0700 to boil some eggs an d make coffee for us. excellent!

We had a little escape from the world to this destination that we already know. Already out of season but the weather was on our favour and everything from our point of view was perfect. We especially enjoyed the view over the lake from our superior room with balcony, and our daughter very much liked hers overlooking the char Samoil's fortress and the roman amphitheatre.

Super convenient and just perfect

Everything was perfect. Convenient parking in front of the guesthouse (street is a bit narrow especially when leaving but you can park for free in one of the parking lots around the upper gate where you enter old town as well). Friendly and helpful staff. We met the owner too who was also super friendly. Room very clean with a nice view on Ohrid but we never really opened the shutters because the sun would come in directly. Price is excellent. Breakfast was fresh and very good, everything one can wish for. No five star hotel buffet of course but it’s a guesthouse and for this price you can eat as much as you want. Location is superb too. If you eat out you lose some of the kgs from walking the stairs back up ;) anyway 3 minutes walk and you are in old center or new center. Card payment possible.

Just word of advice to close the door to the garden when staff is smoking outside, because the smell comes in.

Great place in Ohrid, highly recommended

Location (city center but out of the touristic are), comfort, staff, awesome views. Stefan was wonderful host, giving me information and arraging for me the transportation to the next destination.

Walls could have be painted again, but it’s not a big deal at all!
