Exceptionally comfortable, cosy place to stay in brilliant location for the three peaks.

Brilliant place to stay for a stormy winter weekend. We got out for walks and came back to lovely warm and cosy cottage with lots of hot water. We were celebrating a birthday and loved being able to sit round the big table for meals and cake and flop into the comfy chairs around he hearth. The kitchen worked well for us self catering and was well equipped. The radiator in the kitchen and tiled floor meant we could hang up wet clothes and place muddy boots so they dried out and we weren’t worried about messing up carpets etc.

Perfect, cosy cottage

Really spacious, cosy cottage for 6 people. 2 bathrooms so useful. Immaculately clean and had everything we could have needed, especially real fire. Perfect location for local pub, where we had a great meal. Ideally located for meeting our guide to do the 3 Peaks Challenge. Both less than 5 minute walk away.

Incredible stay at Poppy's Cottage - the perfect bolt hole for Yorkshire 3 Peaks walkers

Poppy's Cottage was perfectly situated a couple of minutes from the station, in the heart of the village. My friends and I took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and the cottage was incredibly clean, comfortable, convenient and incredible value for money. I'd go back in a heart beat, and recommend it to anyone taking on a 25 mile walk!

The only thing missing was perhaps one or two more toilet rolls!

Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage, well equipped, plenty of fuel for open fire, friendly hosts, and the location is perfect for keen walkers. The electric drying rack was very useful over the Christmas period!

Comfortable base in a beautiful area

Good space, all clean, cosy and comfortable. Views of the peak from one bedroom. Fire laid and generous fuel provided. Lots of useful local leaflets and books. Beautiful area and a good base that is out in the countryside but easily accessible by car or train and with parking for 2 cars if needed. Loads of great outdoor activities nearby and beautiful landscape and villages. Friendly owners next door.

No dishwasher. Wifi didn't really work and little mobile reception. No views from main room downstairs (no issue for our October walking trip but an outside table area would be a great addition for summer). Price reflects these things though so good value overall.

Lovely cottage, just needs a couple of new mattresses

Great location, great host, very clean and had everything we needed.

The mattresses in the twin (not the en-suite twin) were very soft and uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the sofa as the bed gave me hip pain.

Wouldn't stay here for a week. 2 nights were enough.

Location brilliant for doing the 3 peaks.

I stayed in the double bed. It smelt musty. The livingroom really needs a makeover. Very dark and uncomfortable furniture. The oven doesn't work properly. It took an hour and half just to warm our tea. The cottage was clean.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Some might find it a bit rural, but that was exactly what we loved! Short walk to a nice pub, good views and plenty of nearby footpaths. Owner was next door and pleasant and helpful. Everything was clean and ready for us. Small fireplace with fuel for our use made for cosy evenings.

We should have gotten better direction on adjusting the thermostat. As it was, it was just on the cool side of warm enough. As we were gone during the day, it wasn't a big problem

Well stocked cottage on the Yorkshire three peaks challenge route. Comfortable beds and a lovely fire with plenty of wood and coal. Highly recommend.

Comfortable, welcoming and a great stay.

Beautiful cottage, clean, well equipped and a perfect location for the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Comfy beds, fire was ready to light. Owners were so helpful! We had ordered a Sainsbury's delivery and was caught in traffic so late to the property. We phoned the owners and asked if they would accept the delivery for us. Not only were they happy to do this but put the dairy in the fridge for us. Couldn't be happier with the stay and will definitely stay again :-)

Welcoming and comfortable stay with kids

The property was clean, spacious, well equipped and homely. The kids had plenty of room to play. I really enjoyed hearing the dawn chorus and the beautiful views around the property.

3 peaks home from home

Lovely quiet location tucked away from the road with gorgeous view of Penyghent and hills from bedroom. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Large living room and dining area. Well equipped kitchen. Close to station if travelling by train. Friendly owner lives next door if you need anything. Horton is a picturesque village where many people start the 3 peaks but we went to Chapel le Dale which was an easy journey.

Ensuite shower doesn't get very hot but that may just be me. Parking space would be tight if you had a big car and access between two brick walls is tight. But you could park elsewhere.

Lovely quiet location, comfy and well-equipped. It felt very homely.

The wifi didn't work very well upstairs. The bedding was a little too warm - a sheet as well as the duvet would have helped.

Such a fantastic location at the foot of the hills. Our host was perfect and even helped us out with extra bedding and fresh milk in the morning when we'd ran out. Super friendly and welcoming.

Delightful cottage in beautiful setting.

Very helpful hosts. Good, quiet and attractive location. Comfortable accommodation with everything needed for a good stay for 4 adults and a toddler. Good parking for 2 vehicles and easy access to surrounding countryside.

Great location on the Y3P trail. Very quiet but accessible. The cottage was very spacious for a small group of hikers, with plenty of amenities. Everything we could have needed for our short stay.
