Poppy Cottage

The cottage was lovely and cosy with a nice interior and furniture. We had everything we needed, not just linen and towels but handwash at each sink, toilet roll, kitchen roll, crockery and cutlery. Maggie was very welcoming and came on the first morning to check we had everything we needed. The area was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay there. We met the Harrisons' daughter on the last day with her gorgeous dog, Alfie.

One of the single beds in the non ensuite twin room was very uncomfortable due to the mattress but all of the other beds were very comfortable. There were only 4 of us, so it was no issue as we just avoided that particular bed.

Lovely weekend stay. Cottage was great. Kitchen facilities and open fire were a real bonus. Friendly host and perfect location for our walk.

Beds in the twin room without an en suite could do with a fresh mattress.

Brilliant place to stay for a stormy winter weekend. We got out for walks and came back to lovely warm and cosy cottage with lots of hot water. We were celebrating a birthday and loved being able to sit round the big table for meals and cake and flop into the comfy chairs around he hearth. The kitchen worked well for us self catering and was well equipped. The radiator in the kitchen and tiled floor meant we could hang up wet clothes and place muddy boots so they dried out and we weren’t worried about messing up carpets etc.

Location brilliant for doing the 3 peaks.

I stayed in the double bed. It smelt musty. The livingroom really needs a makeover. Very dark and uncomfortable furniture. The oven doesn't work properly. It took an hour and half just to warm our tea. The cottage was clean.
