Hôtel du Jeu de Paume Versailles

Location was the best! Great restaurants and very close to the palace.

Hot but we anticipated that.

We were in the area to see Versailles and the location could not have been more convenient. The room was adequate size, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was fresh and varied, inside or on a lovely patio.

We truly enjoyed everything about this hotel except it's lack of air conditioning which was needed during the heat wave we experienced. They did provide a strong fan and the windows easily opened for circulation however.

No airco in the rooms was very hot!

The location is excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good (although you must keep in mind this is French breakfast, not American when thinking of your expectations), the outside area was very nice.

We booked two rooms in our booking yet our rooms were on two different floors which made things less than ideal for our group of five. The showers are incredibly slippery - several of us slipped even though we are typically sure-footed. The common space was reserved by a group of people one evening and so our party had no where to go to be together besides sweltering in our rooms separately. We were there during the France heatwave and some portable AC units would have went a long way. Also, as noted by others, the bottom floor rooms’ windows open onto the street. Unless you want to be completely miserable in your rooms during the summer months, you must leave the shutters open for airflow. I know Versailles is a safe area, but this would probably make many people uncomfortable. Lastly, there’s no way to page staff that I could tell when they aren’t present at the counter besides paging from outside the building on the street or at least there are no instructions in rooms regarding how to do so.
