Villa Chocolat Seminyak

We took Villa Chocolat for a week for my mother’s 70th, and it was the right call. First thing: it’s big. Properly big. Everyone had space, nobody was tripping over anyone, and there was always somewhere to disappear to with a book if you wanted. There are two pools, and I’ll admit I spent roughly half the holiday in one of them. I’d get out for breakfast, get back in. That was the rhythm of the week. The other thing I didn’t expect to love as much as I did — the Harman Kardon wireless system. I could stream to it from basically anywhere on the property, so music was on from morning coffee to late night. Small detail, but it changes how a place feels. The staff are the real reason to book here. Komara, the manager, runs it beautifully — around when you need him, invisible when you don’t, and nothing was ever a problem. Rio, Aris, Satria and Made looked after us the same way. By day two they knew how we all took our coffee. Breakfast is cooked fresh every morning. The pancakes on the continental menu were the best we had in Bali, and the American option — omelettes, bacon, sausages — was done properly, not as an afterthought. Location-wise you’re in a quiet lane off Gang Kahyangan, so nights are genuinely peaceful, but Revolver is a three-minute walk, Sisterfields about five, Mamasan ten, and Seminyak Beach about the same for sunset. We hardly used a car. Fair warning, the lane is narrow and takes a minute to find the first time — after that it’s nothing. Thank you Komara, Rio, Aris, Satria and Made. You made a milestone birthday something my family will keep talking about.

As seems to be the case with virtually all properties in Bali, villa owners seem to be neglecting investing in periodic restorative measures, leading to mildly visible wear and tear, but nothing that would dampen happy holidays in any real way other than for one with a keen eye determined to find faults.

The villas are in a great location, easy walking distance to Seminyak Square (5 mins), and the beach (10 mins) in the other direction. Breakfast of your choice (fresh fruit, nasi or mei goring or bacon and eggs) was cooked every morning by the awesome staff. The rooms are clean and well maintained, bathrooms are great. There is a Circle K 5 mins walk away. The pool and grounds are awesome and well looked after. our group was five couples, there is plenty of room for everyone, either lounging in or beside the pool, or in the enclosed lounge/kitchen area. I will definitely be going back here if in Seminyak.

The villa was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay! The service was incredible and the staff was attentive and super helpful, giving us great restaurant and activity recommendations and organising a car for us for the day to tour Ubud. The villa itself was beautiful and just as shown in the pictures. The villa was also immaculately clean and the room service everyday was exceptional. The breakfast each morning exceeded our expectations and there were lots of options to choose from. We also had the option to do a barbecue one night, where the food was prepared at the villa for us and this was one of the highlights of our stay as the food was amazing! Highly recommend Villa Chocolat if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Seminyak.
