Disappointing

We were rang at 5 minutes past 3pm asking when we were going to check in as the closed at 5pm although it states in 9pm on your booking. Com website Then the following morning the shower stopped half way through my shower and the switch switch fell if also head fell of hand held shower , toilet brush not fixed on wall so had to physically hold the toilet brush holder with hand not ideal. We were asked on checking out how things were and when explaining issues with bathroom, no apology just questioning our opinion , shame as room was beautiful and bed very comfy but attitude not the best

The rooms were gorgeous such lovely deco and the on suite was amazing

Just me being fussy I'm used to a medium memory foam mattress and the bed in which room.we stayed in was too hard for me.I slept on top of the duvet to soften the mattress.....

What has happened to customer service?

Large room

Poor communication between staff members, resulted in us not receiving breakfast. Staff seemed focused on and prioritised a larger group than us, which i believe was reason for error. Morning staff blaming others invluding us. Full of excuses and no resolution.

Welcoming comfortable & attention to detail

Personally shown up to my very comfortable room. Facilities were excellent with extra touches like proper milk & juice in mini fridge & digital time lighted mirror

Not a Sunday night location.

The room was comfortable and clean. The TV worked well

I was handed the keys and the staff left for the night. No food available for my dinner after a 5 hour drive. No notice of ghis on the booking site. Basically it's not a hotel on Sundays it's a room. Loved chating with the owner this morning but the is definitely a 6 day a week location. Then town is also a bit rubbish on a Sunday evening.

Very pleased all round, would definately stay again.

We loved that the staff were very friendly and welcoming and went above to accommodate my having to be on crutches, this having happened since initial booking

It would be helpful to mention in the description that due to age of property there is no lift available, it was only thanks to the owner that we were able to use the disabled room at the last minute.

A very comfortable overnight stay after a long journey.

The location was good but there was traffic sounds(to be expected where the hotel is located) which we aren't used to as we live out in the country but it wasn't a problem. The gardens were lovely. the staff charming. We checked out too early for breakfast so cannot comment but our supper (served in the garden) was delicious and freshly prepared. The hosts were helpful and friendly and the hotel nicely decorated and very clean.

Don't miss out on the restaurant!

This is a hotel like all hotels should be. The building is comfortable, the gardens relaxing to wander around. The staff are friendly and attentive, professional and calm. Most of all, though, the restaurant is exceptional - we had dinner and breakfast and both were superb. It's very rare to come across food that's well prepared in every detail ... our breakfast eggs benedict were a case in point with smooth, rich hollondaise and lovely, salty ham.

Not too thrilled at the see-through glass door on the bathroom/loo ... though I do get that it's often done these days.

Fab Hosts and Lovely Stay

Dot is a fabulous host and the food was delicious! Lovely clean bedroom and nice location away from the town centre but only a 5 min walk in. Breakfast was great with lots of options and snacks to take away for the day. Mini fridge in bedroom too.

I found a wee bug in my bed, but I just popped it out the window and it was all good. Bugs do appear from time to time and it isn't a mark on the cleanliness of the hotel.

Very nice hotel that's extremely well managed by the proprietors.

We've stayed at the hotel previously and found it to be a great hotel that's extremely well managed.. We had dinner with friends in the evening and the ambience and the meal was very well received by all.

The parking is limited but having said that it was sufficient for our stay and given it enjoys nice gardens, it would be a shame to turn them into a car park.

A super hotel

A lovely friendly welcome from Philippa, a spacious well furnished room. I stayed at the hotel as it was an easy drive to Blyton Park track for my bike training. Secure overnight parking for my bike was very reassuring.

The breakfast and our evening bar meal were excellent! Great fresh produce, beautifully cooked. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Our bedroom had every comfort you could think of and the whole hotel was just perfect.

Exceptional

Everything. I was made most welcome when I arrived, and had an excellent dinner. The room was clean, well stocked with tea and coffee for the morning and the shower etc were very good. Breakfast was excellent. Even when I forgot to leave my room key the management were very understanding and the key is now in the post! If I'm passing that way again I'll certainly stay again.
