Great ryokan in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen. You are provided with yukata to go around the town, as well as given the onsen pass. The rooms are a bit old, but that gives a somewhat nostalgic vibe, which we really liked. There is no shower in the room because you can go to any of the nearby onsen, but a toilet and a sink are available. It feels more like a home stay since meals are not provided as typically done in ryokan, but we did not mind that as there were plenty of restaurants and a convenience store right in front of the ryokan. It is also possible to drop off your luggage before check-in time, and the owner was so nice to bring our luggage upstairs before we came back. We probably had the best sleep of our whole trip in this ryokan, the futon are wonderful.

We had to wait a few minutes in the entrance before the owner realised we were there. We tried announcing ourselves when entering, but we did not receive any reply. Do not expect a very attentive service, you are quite much left to your own devices.

La habitación espaciosa y contaba con bomba de aire caliente a parte de buenos edredones. El futón muy cómodo. La propietaria nos prestó yukata y geta para vivir la experiencia de los onsen así como el pase de entrada a todos ellos. No tiene ducha en la habitación pero sí tiene lavabo e inodoro. No echamos en falta la ducha ya que al ir a los onsen no es necesario, quizás haya ducha compartida pero no preguntamos

Para nosotros no fue problema pero a saber que cuenta con unas escaleras de subida a las habitaciones que son muy empinadas, puede ser problema para alguien con algún problema de movilidad o dificultad de movimiento.

Centrally located, traditional feel. Futon was comfortable. The room was very spacious and it was nice to have a water cooker and fridge available.

There was a really bad smell in the room, maybe aircon filter or some fungus. Quite unpleasant.
