Again a great stay here

I have been here before, and was satisfied enough to come back outside Leuven to stay specifically here. The owner is a kind man, wanting to help out and make your stay comfortable. The house is nicely rennovated, well sound isolated and has overall nice views from the windows.This time around I had a bigger room, which was excellent. Lot's of space, for work, but also to relax. When I find it available in the future when I have to be at leuven, will visit again.

Nothing to say, ideally it would be closer to where I need to be in Leuven, avoiding the morning traffic this way, but that has absolutely nothing to do with my excellent stay here, and you get nice surroundings back for it.

On balance, we enjoyed our stay but felt that it was slightly overpriced

The house was situated in a pleasant country area, the room was spacious and our host was friendly.

Unfortunately the road below the house was quite busy, especially in the early morning, which meant that traffic noise was disturbing. The breakfast on offer (orange juice, fruit, a collection of cold meats and cheese, and one jam) was rather limited given the price (€19.00 per head).

B&B Vallis Dyliae is a charming place with its tranquillity and picturesque location near the Dyliae River and a nature reserve. Guests can expect exceptional service from the empathetic, friendly, and helpful Patrick, who shares extensive knowledge about exploring Leuven, its attractions, and art. Patrick explained the Latin name of B&B Vallis Dyliae, which means "the valey of the Dyliae River". The establishment has a thoughtfully planned strategy. The rooms stand out for their spaciousness and comfort, mainly due to the high-quality mattresses and bedding, making waking up in the morning challenging. This is the perfect place for relaxation, discovering the beauty of the surrounding area, and for accommodation while attending to various matters in Leuven or Brussels. The B&B site also offers convenient parking, which is an additional advantage. I remember our stay there very fondly.

Loved the house, really beautiful. Thr rooms were of a good size. Although there are no restaurants within walking distance, there are several a short drive away. Easy to get to Leuven. Patrick and his wife were really welcoming.

Rooms were a bit warm. A fan would have been useful (although we didn't ask for one).

Quiet place close to nature

The owner lives on site and is available for help almost at any time. There is a very nice terrace at the backyard of the house where wifi works well and were one can work in open air. I stayed at the property during unusually warm summer days, so it was more pleasant to work at the terrace than in my room on the third floor (under the roof) which got boiling hot when the outside temperature went above +30C. Patrik (the owner) gave me electric cable extension so that I could spent the entire day at the terrace. Breakfast is a bit pricey, but the fruit salad made my day certainly. Set of dishes and cutlery that us used to serve breakfast is stylish and very nice.

The house is open to the farm behind it, so there was strong smell of cow dung, especially in the afternoon and beginning of the night. Guess this is not avoidable when you stay close to nature, however in my case I had no option to shut the windows to limit the smell as there was no air-conditioning in the room, and the only way to get some fresh air and arrange for a draft was to open a window in the roof in the bedroom and another window in the bathroom. Worth noting that the house is quite far from any cafe/restaurant/grocery shop, so you either eat on site (Patrik provides breakfast at €14 per person) or need a car to reach any food. Wifi did not work on the third floor, but was good on the first floor (=ground level).

Clean, comfortable, spacious room, excellent breakfast.

The house was easy to find, host excellent, room very clean and spacious, breakfast delicious. Hen with adorable chicks in the garden. We were surprised how much traffic passed through the village but once the windows were closed (and the evening and night brought less and less traffic) our sleep was not disturbed.

I have never meet such rude prioprietor.

Building appearance

The owner was very rude. It was "24h reception desk" info on booking site but he ask extra 25Euro in cash when we came due to late coming. I arrived to the hotel with 2years old child and disabled mother-of-law - no problem for the prioprietor - we must stay and wait because he would like to read all our documents before key was issued. Stairs was very steep and almost not achievable for my mother-in-low. Room was big but very poor.

Nos fenêtres n’étaient pas très occultantes, et le matelas assez mou. Ma salle de bain va être refaite donc, ce sera désormais parfait après janvier 😉
