お食事が夕食、朝食とも素晴らしく、肉を食べない婿への配慮も完璧、英語のメニューと誕生祝いの花火にも感激。 宿泊した漱石の部屋の窓からの景色とかけ流し風呂とサウナを楽しめた。 帰途湯河原駅まで送っていただけたのも有り難かった。

高齢者にとって急な階段の上り下りがつらく、エレベーターがあったらと思った。 狸の置物のある大浴場の露天風呂に手すりがなかったので、足元に自信がなく入れなかった。

Hervoragendes und zuvorkommendes Personal, gesamte Hotel japanisch minimalistisch. Sehr sauber.

1) Das Personal hat zum Ende des Keiseki-Dinners bereits begonnen zu putzen und aufzuräumen. Das Dessert gabe es deshalb in der Lobby. Nachts ist kein Personal im Hotel, ich vermute das Personal wollte früh nach Hause. 2) Das Keiseki-Dinner war ohne Highlight und nur gut angerichtet, aber qualitativ und geschmacklich sehr niedriger Durchschnitt (z.B. trockene gegrillte Makrele) 3) Der Onsen im Appartment sollte renoviert werden. Von der Holzumrandung fielen abgefaulte Stücke ab. Es roch leicht nach Schimmel.

The onsen on the balcony with the view of the forest was perfect! The meals were great too!

The ryokan was located in a very pretty, serene area surrounded by trees. The food presentation was beautiful, room was big, beds comfy, staff were helpful. The public and private onsens were all wonderful.

The rooms are supposed to be non-smoking inside, however they allow smoking on the patios. As a result, our room smelled so strongly of cigarettes that it made my head hurt. When I pointed this out, they offered some deodorizing spray (which did nothing). I would not have stayed here had I known it was going to smell that badly. There were also quite a few bugs that made their way inside - I think because the front door has a huge gap in the bottom. We had a private outdoor bath which became full of tiny insects after the first night, so we didn’t use it. It would be nice if that was part of the daily room refresh. Additionally, the provided drinks were two beers and 4 waters. While we appreciate that many waters, for such an upscale, expensive ryokan, I would have expected various other things (like a juice and Coke), as it was very sparse compared to elsewhere I’ve stayed.
