Booked for private onsen.
Private onsen was basically a hot tub and the room was dated and worn, although not actually part of the hotel bookings are made through them. Buffet evening meal held in large open room food was OK but not special.

Wonderful accommodations and extremely hospitable staff.
I think the tattoo policy is a bit silly. Paying customers should be entitled to the same amenities regardless of what they choose to put on their own body.

I liked it all worth the money
The only thing I did not like but it’s the way it is, I was not allowed by the public baths because of my tattoo but I did have patches for them, they just said no they did not give me a chance to show them but this is common
