The stay was great, we loved that it was was enough from the road so it’s quiet and also they cleaned our room everyday!

We liked that it has plenty of parking for our scooter outside the place. The restaurant outside was great, food were yummy and fairly priced. The hotel was clean and they cleaned our room everyday

Very nice

Great and spacious room, plenty of place to store your stuff. AC works very well. They can clean your room as often as you want and refreshen your water. The breakfast downstairs was honestly nice, for 99baht you get quite some food + coffee/tea + water. We found at the top of the first level of stairs an area with free snorkeling goggles and there was a pair that actually worked and helped a lot. (as a tip, you can rent your scooter from Oli's Motorbike rental and there you will get a snorkeling set - so if you are 2 people you dont need to rent/ buy snorkeling goggles cuz you get 1 from the hotel if you are lucky to find it, and one from the scooter rental). The staff is nice as well. The location is super good. Totally recommend!!!

you do not pre-pay for the room online - you have to pay at the location and they only accept cash, quite a pitty, so be prepared ...

Nice experience

Really good place to stay in Koh Tao. The bed was very comfortable, the AC cooled super well and the staff is very friendly. Gi knew how to attend to all our needs. We were going to stay only for 5 nights and we ended up extending up to 9 nights. I would definitely go back to this place! (Most of the island was without electricity several times because they are making renovations in the electricity supply , but the hotel apparently has its own generator because we always had light!)

We loved Koh Tao and it was a great place to base ourselves.

We loved the location on the island. So many good and drink options within a reasonable walking distance and there’s a nice sop right next door. About a 10 min walk down to the beach with nice places to hang out. The staff was really friendly and professional. They provide housekeeping when you need and also can rent you a scooter for a reasonable price.

The side that our room was on didn’t get much natural sunlight. It’s a bit pricey for what you get compared to other areas in Thailand.

Perfect basic hotel!

Aukotan is a good budget hotel on Koh Tao. It is basic, but if you’re planning on exploring the island, you don’t need much more than a basic hotel. The beds are on the ground, but they are really comfortable! There is also a store right next to the hotel where you can get everything you need (even a small yoghurt for breakfast with a spoon, perfect)

Phenomenal value

The hotel had its own restaurant, supermarket, and scooter hire. They pick you up and drop you off to the ferry terminal which is an awesome extra. The air conditioning works exceptionally well.

Could be loud in the evenings as you could hear noise from the street and also other guests coming and going from their rooms.

Very good hotel, but necessary scooter rented

The hotel has a good structure, there is a restaurant connected to it, they book tours and rent bikes, a market, next to laundry places (not included).

I wasn't planning to rent a scooter, but the hotel is a bit far from everything. Everything is at least 30 min walk in very hilly paths.

Great and central place !

Very clean and well located place! Rooms are big and clean, beds are comfortable and we had a small balcony which was a plus. They offer free transfer to and from the pier which is great and there is also a shop that rents motorbikes for a good price just next to it - there are also restaurants, convenience and souvenirs shops very close by. Staff was very friendly ! Breakfast was basic but good portions.

Although breakfast is included which is great, there are only two options which after a while gets repetitive. Maybe a third would be something to think about !

Good and calm place to stay

Spacious room, big bed, we liked that they offer shuttle service form/to the pier. The location is not bad, walking distance from few nice beaches and view points, although is like 1 km to walk everyday. They have also their own store downstairs which was convenient.

Very early check out - 10.30! Only two breakfast options, after 6 days I couldn't look at it anymore. It would be nice to make something more, even simple like ham and cheese toasties for example. The shower doesn't have a curtain so the bathroom is all the time wet. The cleaning services are not much cleaning - more like just new towels. And if you don't want to clean, you are not getting any supplies, which is odd. Because of that we asked to clean everyday just to get water and toilet paper even if we literally didn't need it.

Internet was insanely poor and the room very dark. The toilet flush didn’t work, therefore I had to open the container every time to refill the tank. The AC was badly noisy!

Short walk to the southern beaches.

We stayed for 5 nights at the end of December. The breakfast has two sets: Set 1 is bacon, sausage, egg, coffee and toast and set 2 is cereal, coffee, and toast. But they gave me an extra egg with my toast because I didn’t want the bacon and sausage. I thought that was nice of them. The room is very large and clean, the mattress is comfortable, and there was 4 pillows on our bed. I like that the hotel is attached to a convenient store. They also offered a free ride to our next hotel on the island.

The tv didn’t work. I really enjoyed my stay and I would stay here again.

Would not recommend if you need WiFi

The room was big and spacious, and the bed was comfy. We chose this place for the location and for the included breakfast as we had planned a scuba course close by. The location was close to the south end of the island and a lot calmer than near to the pier. It's possible to rent a scooter at a good price and without the need to leave your passport or a deposit

The internet was terrible !!! We had to move to another accommodation as we couldn't complete the online courses associated to our scuba diving course. Also the breakfast is nothing like what the photos lead you to believe, it's alright but we were a little disappointed. And the balcony is none existant
