The staff was superb and extremely accommodating
The rooms are very stylish and super clean.
We had yummy breakfasts in the onsite cafe with freshly baked goods
All their recommendations for tours, restaurants , massage place etc were all excellent
Its location on a very very busy road
Do bring a good mosquito repellent . The garden is beautiful but does attracted the little pests

An absolutely gorgeous hotel with a beautiful cafe in the garden and truly tasty food. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant, and the staff were lovely.
The only small inconvenience was a mechanical ticking noise in the bedroom (room 8) that continued throughout the stay. I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from or how to stop it, so I ended up sleeping with earplugs.

The staff were helpful and welcoming
We had some laundry done and they washed the whites with darks so our white clothes were damaged and ruined

Absolutely loved my stay here! If you’re looking for more of a quiet escape in Koh Tao, this would be the perfect space. The room was comfortable, spacious and I loved the balcony area. The staff were super friendly and as a solo female traveller I felt quite safe here. If you have the chance to, definitely go downstairs and try out their breakfast options at their cafe, it’s on the pricier side but so so worth it.

Very cute place
Pretty buggy, we left with tons of bites

Very big room. Extremely stylish and even had a living room area and a small kitchen set up to make tea or coffee. The bed was very comfy too. And there was a big patio with outdoor furniture and a hanging swing that was like a hammock but it was a swing!!! You can’t go wrong staying at this hotel. I will definitely stay here again.

It was clean. Comfortable bed.
2 flights of narrow spiral metal stairs to reach room, in combination with location on crazy busy street far from town center didn’t work for us. Getting bags up and down was a bit treacherous!

I took the studio room which was a bit more expensive, but was worth every penny. The room is a suite with a beautiful balcony done with lots of attention to detail and comfort. Staff was super helpful and Mike (not sure what his Thai name is), arranged everything I needed (scooter, ferry tickets etc). It is great feeling when a room exceeds expectations
You must get a scooter (or taxi) to commute. As in all Island stay, there is always the odd Gecko that manages to enter the room. Harmless though

Over price, a classic marketing success. Hotel is on the street in a gas station area . Probably the cheeses are of the island. Room are Mirko like in japan and ambient is just local foreest trees .
Made thai place cost yes but humid and definitely over price.

It was well located.
From the moment we arrived at Big Tree Boutique Hotel, we were met with disappointment. Our upstairs room reeked of mould, making it almost unbearable to stay in. Instead of addressing the issue properly and putting in the correct air conditioning to alleviate the mould, the “beds” they provided us were nothing more than rock-hard mattresses placed directly on the floor—completely unacceptable for what is supposed to be an expensive boutique hotel.
To make matters worse, upon checkout, the hotel accused us of losing three towels, despite the fact that housekeeping had removed them three days prior. It was an infuriating and baseless claim, clearly an attempt to squeeze more money out of guests.
The café next door was another letdown. It operates on a cash-only basis (inconvenient, to say the least) and caters almost exclusively to tourists, serving only one local dish. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, you certainly won’t find it here.
Overall, this place is a complete disaster. After all of this, there was not a single ounce of remorse shown, nor any offer of compensation for the issues caused. Between the terrible room conditions, uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, dishonest staff, and the uninspiring café, I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances.

The cafe is the best in town
It was a bit expensive for what we paid.

Welcoming staff that endevours to make the stay as great as possible. The whole resort has an unique flair, starting with the lovely furnished room over the outdoor area and the nice coffeeshop. Used bike rental at the hotel which worked out great.

The location of the hotel is very nice, close to the pier (10-12 mins on foot). They can also assist you in renting a scooter to make your life easier going around the island.
The room was clean and it is very nice that the hotel also provides beach towels to use.
The staircase to the upper floor is very narrow making it difficult to carry a suitcase.
Also, the price you see in booking is not the actual price you pay. You are asked to pay in advance via a bank transfer that charges 3% extra. Keep that in mind before booking.

Staffs are flexible an very friendly
Location, the view of the corridor is unpleasant with construction going on with noise and construction waste. Noise stops from the evening though, so doesn't really impact.
The shower water takes long time to warm up and stay unstable

Very nice hotel, we feel right away when we arrive the relationship with the ecology, we feel good in a pretty and natural setting while remaining close to the main area. There is also a very good coffee shop with a discount for hotel guests. We will be back 😁

Bathroom was not always cleaned well.

Really nice clean room with a balcony in a nice little development. Location was around 10mins walk from the pier/beach but that worked for us as it had easy access to beaches on the east and south of the island and was across from a 7-11.
No complaints! Location worked well to get around the island but obviously it isn't right on the beach which would bother some people.

Very very friendly and helpful staff. Cool designed facility. Delicious food in related Cafe, Restaurant and Ice cream shop.

The room was very clean (housekeeping was amazing) and the bed was big and very comfortable. Nice amenities (&sustainable) in the room. The hotel has a cozy café as well.
The staff was super friendly and helped us with everything we needed, including booking a ferry & bus to Surat Thani.
Location is great, close by a few min by scooter to everything (restaurants, beaches, viewpoints).
They had a very good laundry service.
Would highly recommend this place.
Everything was excellent.

- Very nice staff!
- Cute and cozy rooms + terrace
- Got 10% off at the café and ice cream store which where both really really good, maybe one of the best ice creams we every had :)
- Located near the pier, very central but still relatively quiet, we hardly heared the street at all in the night
- The way the hotel is layed out makes you feel like you're in the middle of a small jungle :)
Only thing was that the bathroom looked a little bit used, because there were some small moldy stains at the ceiling and the shower curtain. If they would exchange/wash the curtain and take care of the ceiling spots, everything would be perfect :)

Lovely location, clean, and near the town but not in the thick of it so if we wanted an escape we could easily have one.
Nothing.

We loved this place and the owners and staff are super wonderful!
We took the apartment and a double room for our kids and it was perfect.
The café attached is one of the best we came across on our travels.
The wooden slats outside our apartment were dangerous and rotting. I went to hang my towel on the balcony and one of them broke under my foot. The owners really need to fix this as it’s super unsafe but I’m sure they will.
